CCP Message

CONGRESS Colombia 2017

The AIESEC International Congress is the biggest touchpoint in the organisation where the top leadership profiles decide the path that AIESEC needs to take to accomplish our vision. If you ask me this is simply where the magic happens, where all the AIESECers and partners have the opportunity to really understand what the organisation is about and experience it.

Erika Vergara CCP & Congress Committee Team

For more than 5 generations, AIESEC in Colombia, have dreamt of holding the International Congress in our country and welcoming more than 1,000 people to the Magical Realism. After all this time, we have finally made this dream come true. We are honoured to host the 69th AIESEC International Congress, and we would like to invite everyone to be a part of it. This is all about having a PHENOMENAL EXPERIENCE. We will be waiting for you with open arms, a big smile, and of course... ready to deliver the best experience you've ever imagined. The “Latin spirit is waiting for you... and trust me when I say that you are going to love it! Bring your best attitude and live this magical experience with us. As people say, the only risk is that you would want to stay. With great honour,

Erika Vergara | CCP & Congress Committee Team 69th International Congress, Cartagena, Colombia.

History

Located in the north of Colombia, Cartagena de Indias is considered the most important tourist destination of the country. Because of its strategic location in the Caribbean, the city was the main port of America for the Spanish Empire during the colonial times, as well as shelter for treasures and riches. For this reason the city had to be protected from attacks by pirates with fortifications and ramparts, which can still be appreciated today, and which earned their recognition as a Historical and Cultural Heritage of mankind by UNESCO in 1984. Although the streets of the historic center and GetsemanĂ (Gethsemane) or Walled City can be appreciated vestiges of colonial and republican architecture; the city has given way to modernity with modern structures, generating a unique contrast, that has allowed the mixing of different cultures.

Hotel Las Américas

In Cartagena de Indias, a World Heritage Site, Hotel Las Américas offers endless options for your leisure or business trip in a Caribbean environment. This five-star hotel located in the northern zone of the city, on the shore of the Caribbean Sea, offers two lodging options for unforgettable vacations: Las Americas Casa de Playa with tropical architecture and Las Americas Torre del Mar with a modern style. Centro Internacional de Convenciones y Exposiciones Las Américas provides the best infrastructure of the city for unique events. Hotel Las Américas offers a variety of options in accommodation. The environment takes out to free your inspiration so you can choose the one which adapts you to your trip. In Las Américas Casa de Playa you can find the charming of a 5 stars hotel, with suites and rooms with a tropical style.

Hotel Las Américas Hotel Las Américas offers the best of the local and international gastronomy. There are 4 restaurants in the hotel for the delight of everybody. Erre de Ramón Freixa restaurant mixes flavours and aromas of the mediterranean with the magic of the Caribbean. Colombus al Forno offers a variety of options, a la carte or buffet. Mesón de Don Cristobal restaurant offers the best of the international cuisines in a tropical environment and Fogón del Navegante serves the best grilled meat and seafood in the gardens of the hotel. The hotel offers different places for the entertainment of their guests. 4 bares: Bar El Chico, Sports bar, Aqua lounge, Infinito Bar and Bar Isla. 4 pools in Casa de Playa and 4 in Torre del Mar.
