The Preparation of the Church for the Rapture - Revelation - Part X
July 28, 2024
Summary of the President’s Message
The Sunday Bible School on July 28th, 2024 was held live, directly from the Communications Center of Radio and TV Maanaim, Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, with the participation of pastors Gedelti Gueiros, Gilson Souza and Josias Junior.
Pastor Gilson Sousa’s Message:
We greet all our brethren with the peace of the Lord Jesus! We are starting Sunday Bible School. The subject to be pre-
sented is the book of Revelation: the message of the Holy Spirit resonates in the midst of the Faithful Church, in relation to the prophetic markers that are being fulfilled in our day, in the preparation of the Church for the rapture.
Pastor Gilson Souza presented the answers given by various brethren to the questions posed, as well as various experiences and testimonies relating to Sunday School.
Pastor Gedelti Gueiros’ Message:
I greet you all with the peace of the Lord. Let’s answer the
questions.
Reading the Gospel of John, chapter 1, verse 1, when the writer (John) talks about Jesus, what revelation has he reached regarding the Work of Redemption? Make a reference to what is written in Revelation, chapter 1.
Answer: He sees the Work of Redemption and begins to describe it when he enters into the revelation that Jesus is the “Word of God”. He identifies that Jesus is the one who is, who was, and who is to come.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God”. John 1:1
“John, To the seven churches in the province of Asia: Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne.” Revelation 1:4
When we talk about the Book of Revelation, our concern is not to bring news. In the book, figures come and go. But for us, that’s not the point. What we want to show is that the book of Revelation is related to the
revelations of Jesus.
In the seven letters, we see the historical and prophetic period of the church’s journey. There is a story that began at Pentecost and will be completed at the rapture. When we use the Bible, we can divide it into groups or stages. We understand that there are three clear dispensations in the Bible. The first dispensation (2000 years) is from Adam to Abraham, the second (2000 years) is from Abraham to Jesus, and the third dispensation is from Jesus to the rapture.
At Pentecost, when they asked why they were drunk at the third hour of the day, the question referred prophetically to the third dispensation. It wasn’t the third hour, it was the third dispensation that was beginning.
“These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning!” Acts 2:15
We are living in the third dispensation. Then comes the millennium. There is garbage all over the world. But the church needs to be preserved from this garbage. As men, people of responsibility, we understand perfectly the prophetic moment we are living in.
“Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile;
let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.” Revelation 22:11
We are living through a defining moment. The garbage will continue. It’s man. But the church needs to walk, regardless of anything.
When we go into Revelation, we see many things. It’s as if we
were in John’s situation to deliver the message. John reclined on Jesus’ chest. It was John’s love for Jesus. On Calvary, Jesus left a message for John, the fruit of this intimacy, this affection.
“and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.” John 19:27
John heard the beating of Jesus’ heart. It was the result of that operation, reflected in the message in the Book of Revelation. It was something extraordinary. When Peter asked the Lord Jesus about John, many understood that John would not die. In fact, he was the last to die.
“Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved was following them. (This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, “Lord, who is going to betray you?”) When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?” Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.” Because of this, the rumor spread among the believers that this disciple would not die. But Jesus did not say that he would not die; he only said, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?”
John 21:20-23
John’s concern was to show Jesus revealed, glorified. What is the church’s concern today?
To preach Jesus revealed. The church that will resist the garbage that is in this world is the one that preaches Jesus revealed.
Reading the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 17, verses 1 and 2, at what point did John have
an experience with the revealed Jesus? Make a reference to what is written in Revelation, chapter 1.
Answer: At the moment of the transfiguration.
“After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light.”
Matthew 17:1-2
“and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest.” Revelation 1:13
“In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.” Revelation 1:16

Reading the Gospel of John, chapter 13, verses 23 to 25, what is the prophetic aspect of John’s experience of laying his head on Jesus’ chest? Make a reference to what is written in Revelation, chapter 1.
Answer: When John laid his head on Jesus’ chest, he certainly heard the sounds of Jesus’ heartbeat. This prophetically showed that it was John who would hear the sounds of eternity on the island of Patmos and transfer them to the faithful church through the Seven Letters of Revelation. The intimacy he had with Jesus made him capable of delivering the revelations of the book Revelation.
“One of them, the disciple whom Jesus loved, was reclining next to him. Simon Peter motioned to this disciple and said, “Ask him which one he means.” Leaning back against Jesus, he asked him, “Lord, who is it?”” John 13:23-25
“The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John.” Revelation 1:1
