ello Neighbors, as the new decade has come, I’m more excited today than ever before about the progress of our city. Working together has led to Miramar being a state leader in job creation, economic development, and we have recently been ranked as the 12th safest city in Florida. When a city has high paying jobs and is a safe place to live, not only does it add to our quality of life but it also boost property values and attract more businesses and friendly neighbors. Let’s continue to work together to make the next decade even better. So many great events have taken place here in the City of Miramar!
The “Longest Table” dinner event was an absolute smash among residents! Conversations filled the night air. Great food filled the stomachs of anyone who wished to pull up a chair and sit down with another person whom they didn’t know prior to that night. Friendships were made and bonds were strengthened. Tasteful music coupled with pleasant decor made for a night to remember! It’s almost time for you to check out the Mayor’s “Chess Challenge” Being held February 22, 2020 at Vizcaya Park 14200 SW 55th Street from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Come out and enjoy a free and friendly meetup in support of scholastic chess. Whether you’re a grandmaster chess player or just starting out, we invite you to join us for a morning of fun and mental agility. Walk, jog, or even RUN to Mayor Messam’s annual “3K/5K & Health Fair”! A day full of wellness aimed at enriching the quality of life we all live together. Take part in FREE cooking demonstrations and popup Yoga sessions while the younger children enjoy our KIDS ZONE. Saturday, March 7th 2020. Be proactive in your physical fitness and come on out to the “3K/5K & Health Fair” hosted by Mayor Messam. Yours in service, Mayor Wayne Messam
