L

a convivencia, en su acepción más amplia, se trata de un concepto vinculado a la coexistencia armoniosa de grupos humanos en un mismo espacio.

En estos últimos tiempos, se está hablando de establecer límites a la capacidad turística de algunos destinos, entre ellos, el nuestro.

Particularmente pienso que, antes de llegar a tomar decisiones estratégicas, debe analizarse muy profundamente la situación. Este no es el espacio para un largo análisis, por lo que me permito llamar la atención brevemente en dos únicos puntos que me parecen fundamentales: El primero, ¿qué tipo de modelo turístico perseguimos? Hay muchos subdestinos en Mallorca, pero pienso que nuestro modelo turístico debe estar enfocado hacia la calidad (que no siempre significa que deba ser caro), pero sí fomentar un tipo de turismo no sólo basado en nuestros valores paisajísticos o climáticos, sino en la realización de actividades y experiencias que sean enriquecedoras, que dejen un recuerdo emocional y que estén integradas con la cultura e idiosincrasia de la isla, siempre dentro de un marco de seguridad, tranquilidad, armonía y respeto por el medio ambiente, y estricto cumplimiento de las normas cívicas.

Eso nos lleva al segundo punto, título de este breve escrito, la convivencia: “Un turista, un amigo“, decía un viejo lema promocional. Pienso que hay que llegar más lejos. Cuando somos nosotros quienes viajamos a otro destino, pretendemos hacer lo que hacen los nativos, no ir a sitios solo para turistas.

Por eso, hay que fomentar la integración de ciudadanos y turistas en el mayor número de actividades. Los viajeros, hoy en día, están muy informados y conocen incluso mejor que los propios ciudadanos todo cuanto acontece en los destinos que visitan.

Si entendemos al turista como un ciudadano temporal, y entendiendo que los ciudadanos son los que mejor conocen el destino, el resultado de la ecuación resulta que el ciudadano es el mejor prescriptor del mismo, el mejor vendedor de la marca. Por tanto, integremos esta filosofía en nuestra actitud, seamos hospitalarios y amables (y los visitantes cívicos y respetuosos, desde luego), y socialicemos el sector turístico. Siendo el eje económico de la sociedad balear, su sostenibilidad a largo plazo es fundamental, y es la mejor vía para crear empleo sólido y de larga duración, aportando financiación, tejiendo sinergias entre sectores, redundando todo ello, en una mejora de la habitabilidad de la ciudad y mayor satisfacción ciudadana.

oexistence, in the broadest sense of the word, is the concept of groups of humans living together in the same space.

Recently there has been talk of setting limits to the tourism capacity of some destinations, ours among them.

Personally I feel that, before coming to strategic decisions, an in-depth analysis should be made of the situation. This is not the proper space for a long analysis, so allow me to briefly draw attention to two points alone which seem fundamental to me: The first is: What type of model of tourism are we pursuing? There are many subdestinations in Mallorca, but I think that our tourism model must focus on quality (which does not always mean it has to be expensive), and promote a kind of tourism based not only on our climate and scenic landscape, but also on offering enriching activities and experiences that leave an emotional memory and form part of the culture and idiosyncrasies of the island, always within a framework of safety, peace and quiet, harmony and respect for the environment, as well as strict compliance with civic norms.

This leads us to the second point, the title of this short essay - coexistence: “A tourist, a friend“, said an old promotional slogan. I believe we have to go further than that. When we travel to other destinations, we want to do what the locals do, not go to places that are just for tourists.

Which is why we need to promote the integration of citizens and tourists in the highest number of activities possible. Nowadays people who travel are informed, and are even more aware of everything that is going on in the destinations they visit than the local citizens.

If we see tourists as temporary citizens, and see our citizens as those who know the most about the destination, the result of the equation is that citizens are the best people to recommend it, the best promoters of the brand.

We should therefore integrate this philosophy into our attitude, be hospitable and kind (and naturally those who visit us should be civic and show respect), and socialise the tourism sector. As the economic backbone of Balearic society, its longterm sustainability is fundamental, and it is the best way of creating solid, long-term employment, providing financing and creating synergies between sectors, with all of this resulting in an improvement in the living conditions of our city and greater satisfaction on the part of our citizens.

nter Zusammenleben im weitgefassten Sinn versteht man die harmonische Koexistenz von Menschengruppen im selben Raum.

In letzter Zeit spricht man immer wieder davon, die Anzahl der Touristen in einigen Destinations, darunter auch die unsere, zu beschränken.

Ich persönlich bin der Auffassung, dass man zunächst die Lage gründlich analysieren sollte, bevor man strategische Entscheidungen fällt.

Hier ist nicht der Platz für eine umfassende Abhandlung des Themas. Trotzdem möchte ich Ihre Aufmerksamkeit auf zwei Aspekte lenken, die mir grundlegend erscheinen: Erster Punkt: Welches Tourismusmodell wollen wir etablieren? Es gibt zahlreiche Subdestinations auf Mallorca; ich denke jedoch, dass unser Modell auf Qualität ausgerichtet sein sollte (die nicht immer teuer sein muss). Wir sollten einen Tourimus fördern, der nicht nur auf unsere Trümpfe, wie Klima und Natur, setzt, sondern Aktivitäten und Erlebnisse bietet, die bereichern, die in guter Erinnerung bleiben, die in der Kultur und im Charakter unserer Insel integriert sind. Dies alles im Rahmen von Sicherheit, Ruhe, Harmonie, Respekt vor der Umwelt und der strikten Einhaltung der Normen des menschlichen Zusammenlebens.

Das führt uns zum zweiten Punkt, der auch Titel dieses Artikels ist: das Zusammenleben. „Ein Tourist ist ein Freund“, lautete einst ein Werbeslogan. Wir sollten noch einen Schritt weitergehen. Wenn wir in ferne Länder reisen, machen wir es oft wie die Einheimischen und meiden touristische Orte.

Genau aus diesem Grund müssen wir die Integration von Touristen und Einheimischen durch viele, viele Aktivitäten unterstützen.

Heutzutage sind Touristen hervorragend informiert über die Dinge, die am Reiseziel passieren. Oft besser, als die Einheimischen selbst.

Wenn wir Touristen nun als zeitweilige Bürger ansehen und ich nehme an, die Bürger kennen das Reiseziel am besten, ist im Ergebnis dieser Gleichung der Bürger sein eigener Gestalter und der beste Verkäufer der Marke. Daher sollten wir diese Philosophie in unserem Verhalten berücksichtigen, seien wir gastfreundlich und liebenswürdig (und unsere Besucher zivilisiert und respektvoll), sozialisieren wir die Tourismusbranche. Der Tourismus ist der Wirtschaftsmotor der Balearen, seine Nachhaltigkeit und langfristiges Bestehen ist von höchster Bedeutung, er sichert Arbeitsplätze und Finanzierung, fördert branchenübergreifende Synergien. Und in der Summe wird das Leben in unserer Stadt schöner, weil die Bürger zufriedener sind.

stimad@ golfista, Como ya les anunciara a principios de año, Golf Son Muntaner está siendo protagonista en este 2015. Lo está siendo por cumplir 15 años y por las mejoras que se están llevando a cabo, tanto en servicio, como en instalaciones y mantenimiento del campo. Esperamos ver los resultados de estas mejoras antes de otoño de este mismo año.

Coincidiendo con este aniversario, uno de los proyectos más importantes que estamos llevando a cabo es la reapertura de los hoyos 5 y 6, los cuales recuperan su trazado original, además de adherir alguna modificación y mejora en su diseño.

Más allá de las novedades de Golf Son Muntaner, podrán ver que ya se está comenzando la construcción y reubicación de la nueva Casa Club en Golf Son Vida. Esta nueva casa club tendrá una terraza espectacular con vistas al Green del hoyo 18 de Golf Son Vida.

Por otro lado, me gustaría destacar los buenos resultados que los alumnos de nuestra Escuela Infantil empiezan a obtener, no sólo a nivel local, sino a nivel nacional. Estamos muy orgullosos de que una escuela tan joven empiece a dar tan buenos resultados. ¡Enhorabuena a todos!

ear Golfer, As I announced at the beginning of the year, Golf Son Muntaner is the star of 2015, because it celebrates its 15th anniversary, and due to the improvements being made in the service, the installations and in course maintenance. We hope to see the results of these improvements before autumn of this year.

To coincide with this anniversary, one of the most important projects we are carrying out is the re-opening of holes 5 and 6, which are recovering their original layout, as well as the addition of few modifications and improvements to their design.

Aside from the novelties at Golf Son Muntaner, you will be able to see that work is already beginning on the construction and relocation of the new clubhouse at Golf Son Vida. It will have a spectacular terrace with views of the hole 18 green of Golf Son Vida.

I should also like to highlight the good results the pupils of our children’s school are beginning to obtain, not only on a local, but on a national level. We are extremely proud that such a new school should start to show such good results.

erehrte G@lffreunde, wie wir Ihnen Anfang des Jahres angekündigt haben, steht Golf Son Muntaner 2015 im Mittelpunkt. Zum einen anlässlich des 15.

Jahrestages des Bestehens, zum anderen wegen der Verbesserungen, die im Service, den Anlagen und der Pflege des Golfplatzes umgesetzt werden. Wir erwarten, dass die Neuerungen noch vor dem kommenden Herbst sichtbar sind.

Zeitgleich mit dem Jahrestag arbeiten wir an einem unserer wichtigsten Projekte: der Wiedereröffnung der Löcher 5 und 6, die sich bald wieder im Originaldesign präsentieren werden. Darüber hinaus werden an den Bahnen einige Veränderungen vorgenommen.

Außer von Golf Son Muntaner gibt es auch von Golf Son Vida Neues zu berichten. Wie Sie sehen können, hat der Bau des neuen Clubhauses auf Golf Son Vida begonnen.

Das Clubhaus wird eine imposante Terrasse mit Blick auf das Grün an Loch 18 haben.

Zum Schluss möchte ich die Gelegenheit nutzen und die Kinder unserer Golfschule hervorheben, die auf den Balearen und innerhalb Spaniens gute Ergebnisse erzielen. Wir sind sehr stolz darauf, dass eine so junge Schule so großartige Erfolge hat.

arece que fuera ayer que el campo de Golf Son Muntaner abría sus instalaciones convertido en uno de los mejores campos de Mallorca. Y, sin embargo, de ello han pasado ya 15 años. Cuenta Kurt Rossknecht, el diseñador del campo inaugurado el año 2000, que rara vez se dispone de un espacio tan hermoso como le presentó en su día el señor Josef Schörghuber: a pocos minutos de la ciudad pero sin ver ni un solo edificio, con un paisaje maravilloso y rico, y hermosas vistas a la Bahía de Palma y a la ciudad.

Golf Son Muntaner, un par 72 de 6.226 metros, ofrece un recorrido que requiere la utilización de todos los palos de la bolsa. Situado en la zona boscosa de Na

to have such a beautiful space as the one presented to him back then by Mr. Josef Schörghuber: a few minutes from the city but you couldn’t see a single building, with a wonderful, rich landscape and beautiful views of the Bay of Palma and the city.

Golf Son Muntaner, a par 72 course that is 6,226 metres long, offers a round of golf that requires use of all the clubs in the bag.

Located in a wooded area of Na Burguesa, it is a veritable jewel of nature, with singular species like the ancient olive tree, “Na Capitana”, as well as holm-oaks, pine trees, lakes and countless indigenous species of fauna.

Amongst other significant tournaments held on the course over these past 15 years, in 2009 Golf Son Muntaner was in the world spotlight as the venue for the Mallorca Skins Game,

s scheint, als sei es erst gestern gewesen und doch sind seit der Eröffnung von Golf Son Muntaner im Jahre 2000 mittlerweile 15 Jahre vergangen, in denen der Platz zu einem der besten Golfplätze Mallorcas avanciert ist.

Kurt Rossknecht, der Architekt von Golf Son Muntaner, ist überzeugt, dass es nur wenige Plätze wie Golf Son Muntaner gibt, der ihm seinerzeit von Unternehmsgründer Josef Schörghuber präsentiert wurde. Der Platz liegt nur wenige Minuten von Palma entfernt; trotzdem wird der Blick nicht von Gebäuden verstellt. Dazu kommen die üppige, vielfältige Natur und der phantastische Blick auf die Palmesaner Bucht und die Inselhauptstadt.

os campos de Arabella Golf Mallorca cuentan con una nueva aplicación disponible para smar tphones y tablets iOS (iPhone e iPad) y Android que responde a preguntas muy recurrentes del jugador como qué distancia he hecho, cuánta distancia hay a bandera, qué características especiales presenta el campo hoy, etc.

Además, la app está desarrollada ad-hoc para cada campo, Golf Son Muntaner, Golf Son Quint y Golf Son Vida. En esta app personalizada encontrará noticias, ofertas diarias, información de cada hoyo, anotación de resultados, archivo de tarjetas, puntuación neta Stableford, entre otras informaciones.

Dispone de “distancias a obstáculos”, que permiten conocer en todo momento y de forma rápida la distancia al green, la distancia recorrida del golpe realizado y la distancia de todos los obstáculos y peligros que pueda encontrar el jugador, como bunkers, árboles, fuera de límites o agua, entre otros.

In this personalised app you will find news, daily offers, information on each hole, annotation of results, score card file, Stableford net punctuation, as well as other information.

It has a “Distance to obstacles” function, which enables you to find out quickly, and at any time, how far it is to the green, the distance covered by your stroke and the distance to all the obstacles and hazards players may encounter, such as bunkers, trees, off-limits, or water, among others.

¿Cuál es el secreto para aprender a jugar al golf?

Si hubiera sólo un secreto, diría que ser constante. Como en todos los deportes, si quieres un mínimo de resultado tienes que practicarlo con cierta regularidad.

What is the secret to learning to play golf?

If there were just one secret, I would say it is to be constant. As with all sports, if you want some kind of minimum of results you have to practise with a certain regularity.

hen and why did become interested in golf?

On a course for children that was advertised at my school, in around 1977.

¿Qué se requiere para tener un alto nivel y competir?

Además de grandes dosis de lo dicho, añadir una profesionalidad en el programa de entreno en todos los campos necesarios, que en mi programa son 12 campos diferentes.

What does it take to reach a high level and compete?

As well as huge doses of the above, adding professionalism to the training programme of all the necessary courses, which in my programme are 12 different courses.

¿Qué es lo que más le gusta de su trabajo?

Que de un día a otro puedo estar dando clases a un niño que empieza, a un niño que busca alto rendimiento, a un adulto, a un profesional, a un discapacitado, etc.

What do you like the most about your work?

I like the fact that one day I may be teaching a child who is just starting, a child who his looking towards a high level of performance, an adult, a professional, a disabled person, etc.

¿Qué es lo que más le gusta de Arabella Golf Mallorca?

Es un complejo de golf único, a tan sólo 5 minutos del centro de una de las ciudades más maravillosas del mundo.

What do you like the most about Arabella Golf Mallorca?

That it is a unique golf complex, just 5 minutes from the centre of one of the most wonderful cities in the world.

ann und warum begannen Sie, sich für Golf zu begeistern? Das muss so 1977 gewesen sein. In meiner Schule warb man für einen Kindergolfkurs.

Ihre Empfehlungen, wie man Golf spielen lernt? Wenn es nur einen Geheimtipp gäbe, würde ich sagen „Ausdauer“. Wie bei allen Sportarten muss man auch beim Golf regelmäßig üben, wenn man Ergebnisse erzielen will.

Was muss man tun, um hohe Spielstärke und Wettkampfniveau zu erreichen? Über eine große Dosis des oben Gesagten verfügen. Dazu ein professionelles Trainingsprogramm auf allen dafür notwendigen Plätzen. Mein Programm enthält zwölf unterschiedliche Plätze.

Was gefällt Ihnen an Ihrer Arbeit besonders? Die tägliche Abwechslung. Ich unterrichte ein Kind, das gerade seine ersten Schläge trainiert, dann zeige ich einem anderen Kind, wie es seine Spielstärke verbessern kann. Dann trainiere ich einen Erwachsenen, danach einen Profispieler, dann einen Behinderten – und alles an einem Tag! Was gefällt Ihnen bei Arabella Golf Mallorca am besten? Der Golfkomplex ist einzigartig und er liegt nur fünf Minuten vom Zentrum einer der schönsten Städte der Welt entfernt.

What does it take to reach a high level and compete?

It takes passion for golf. In this sport it’s impossible to reach the elite without passion. Golf is a sport with more bad times than good ones. Without that passion, very often you wouldn’t be able to carry on.

Diversión y golf para los más pequeños Fun AND golf for youngsters SpaSS UND Golf für Kinder

V

uelve el verano, sinónimo de que con él regresa también el campus de verano de golf de Arabella Golf Mallorca, para que los niños se diviertan mientras practican uno de los deportes más en auge de la isla: el golf.

Desde finales de junio a principios de septiembre, se impartirán cursos semana-

les de lunes a viernes, en horario de mañana, de 9 a 13 horas, de niveles de iniciación y avanzado, con una hora de inglés y una hora de talleres en inglés. También existe un programa de perfeccionamiento “sólo golf”, que consta de un curso intensivo avanzado y bajada de handicap con clases de golf, estrategia de juego y hasta la celebración de un torneo oficial.

Existe la opción “campus mañanero”, para los padres que tengan que dejar a sus hijos antes de las 9, y también la opción “comida de 13 a 14 horas”, además de ludoteca hasta las 16 horas.

ummer is here again, a synonym of the return of the Arabella Golf Mallorca summer golf camp, where children can have fun as they practise one of the most increasingly popular sports on the island: golf.

Monday-to-Friday weekly courses will be given from late June to the beginning of September, during the morning from 9 am to 1 pm, for beginners’ and advanced levels, with one hour of English and an hour of workshops in English. There is also an advanced programme, “solo golf”, consisting of an advanced intensive course and lowering of handicap with golf lessons, play strategy and even an official tournament.

There is also the “morning camp” option, for parents who have to drop their children off before 9 am, as well as the 1 pm to 2 pm lunch

Von Ende Juni bis Anfang September finden die wöchentlichen Kurse für Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene jeweils montags bis freitags, von 9 bis 13 Uhr statt. Im Kurs enthalten sind zwei Stunden Golftraining, eine Stunde Englischunterricht und eine

Stunde Workshop, der ebenfalls in englischer Sprache angeboten wird. Fortgeschrittene können am Intensivkurs „Only Golf“ teilnehmen. Im Kurs werden Spieltechniken perfektioniert, das Handicap verringert und Spielstrategien erläutert.

Zum Abschluss des Kurses wird ein offizielles Turnier ausgetragen.

Darüber hinaus gibt es die Optionen “Morgen-Campus” für Eltern, die ihre Kinder vor 9 Uhr auf den Platz bringen wollen, „Mittagessen 13 bis 14 Uhr“ und die Ludothek bis 16 Uhr. Preisnachlässe werden für Mitglieder der Arabella Golf Academy und Kinder von Mitgliedern der Arabella Golfclubs gewährt sowie bei Anmeldungen von zwei und mehr Geschwistern.

l jugador de la Arabella Golf Junior Academy, Víctor Mirón es, desde el mes de mayo, subcampeón de España Sub16, tras su brillante actuación en el campeonato disputado en el Lumine Golf de Tarragona.

Víctor, que no partía entre los favoritos a tenor de su corta experiencia en competiciones nacionales, se puso al frente de la clasificación ya el primer día del torneo.

Su carta de presentación fueron unos magníficos 70 golpes (-2), rematados con los 72 de la segunda jornada, dejando claras sus intenciones de victoria. Los 74 golpes de la última jornada le proclamaban subcampeón de España. Una justa recompensa a su trabajo, constancia y esfuerzo.

En cuanto a los premios concedidos por la Arabella Junior Golf Academy, han sido los siguientes: Toni Sbert, campeón Match play; Gerardo March, subcampeón match play; Artur Boerhs, campeón 9 hoyos 200 metros; Miguel Albert, segundo ranking 9 hoyos 200 metros; Daniel Sander, campeón ranking pitch and putt; Helena Font, subcampeona ranking pitch and putt.

he player Víctor Mirón of Arabella Golf Junior Academy was runner-up at the Spain Sub 16 championship in May, after a brilliant performance in the tournament held at the Lumine Golf in Tarragona.

Víctor, who was not amongst the favourites due to his lack of experience in national competitions, moved to the top of the ranking on the first day of the tournament. He introduced himself with around 70 splendid strokes (-2), producing 72 on the second day and making his intention to win quite clear. His 74 strokes on the final day secured the place of runner-up of Spain for him. A fair reward for his work, constancy and effort.

Meanwhile the prizes awarded by the Arabella Junior Golf Academy were: Toni Sbert, match play champion; Gerardo March, match play runner-up; Artur Boerhs, champion of 9 holes, 200 metres; Miguel Albert, second in the ranking for 9 holes, 200 metres; Daniel Sander, champion of the pitch and putt ranking; Helena Font, runner-up in the pitch and putt ranking.

Conocido también como “The Club Lab”, este servicio está disponible tanto para los socios de Arabella Golf Mallorca, como para jugadores externos. Cualquier jugador puede solicitar un estudio de los palos que dispone y recibir consejo profesional sobre si estos son los más adecuados, teniendo en cuenta el rendimiento a nivel técnico y la prevención de posibles lesiones provocadas por el uso de palos inadecuados.

he Trackman Fitting Centre, a workshop for made-to-measure clubs and repairs to all kinds of clubs, grips, shafts, etc., is meeting with a warm reception at the Golf Son Muntaner course.

Also known as “The Club Lab”, this service is available both for members of Arabella Golf Mallorca and for external players. Any player can request a study of his or her clubs and receive professional advice on whether they are the most suitable ones in terms of both performance and technically, and also for the prevention of any possible injuries resulting from playing with unsuitable clubs.

as Trackman Fitting Center, in dem Schläger nach Maß angefertigt sowie Schläger, Schäfte und Griffe repariert werden, wird von den Spielern auf Golf Son Muntaner immer besser angenommen. l sábado 27 de junio tuvo lugar la primera edición del Maratón Arabella Golf Mallorca. Jugaron un total de 48 jugadores, el máximo permitido por el comité de competición para esta prueba, de los que acabaron 46 jugadores. El orden de juego de los campos establecido fue el siguiente: Golf Son Quint, Golf Son Quint Pitch & Putt, Golf Son Vida y, por último, Golf Son Muntaner.

Los participantes sabían perfectamente al reto que se enfrentaban. 63 hoyos en un mismo día es un reto tanto físico como psicológico. Lo más complicado fue elevar el ritmo habitual para conseguir completar todos y cada uno de los hoyos… ¡Y lo consiguieron!

Los síntomas de agotamiento se veían superados por el instinto de superación y amor por este deporte, algo que se reflejaba en las sonrisas de todos y cada uno de los golfistas. Como colofón y de manera muy merecida, tuvo lugar una estupen-

da cena y posterior entrega de premios.

Los ganadores del acumulado stableford individual de esta primera edición fueron: ORO: Arturo Jilmaz con 154 puntos; PLATA: Trevor Bowler, con 153 puntos y BRONCE: Uwe Prein, con 148 puntos. Enhorabuena a todos ellos y… ¡ya podemos anunciar que habrá segunda edición en 2016!

n Saturday 27th June the first Arabella Golf Mallorca Marathon took place. A total of 48 players took part – the maximum allowed by the competition committee for this trail – of which 46 completed the marathon. The order of play on the different courses was as follows: Golf Son Quint, Golf Son Quint Pitch & Putt, Golf Son Vida and finally, Golf Son Muntaner.

The participants were well aware of the challenge they were up against. Playing 63 holes in a single day is challenging both physically and psychologically.

The most difficult part was raising one’s

usual pace so as to manage to complete each and every one of the holes… but they managed to do it!

The players’ symptoms of exhaustion were overridden by a spirit of achievement and a love of this sport, something that could be seen in the smiling faces of all of the golfers. The climax was a splendid, well-deserved dinner and the subsequent prize-giving ceremony.

The winners of this first marathon, based on cumulative individual Stableford scores, were: GOLD: Arturo Jilmaz with 154 points; SILVER: Trevor Bowler, with 153 points and BRONZE: Uwe Prein, with 148 points. Congratulations to all of them, and… we can now announce that a second marathon will be taking place in 2016!

migt worden war. 46 Spieler beendeten das Turnier erfolgreich, das auf dem Platz Golf Son Quint begann, auf Golf Son Quint Pitch & Putt und Golf Son Vida fortgesetzt und auf Golf Son Muntaner beendet wurde.

Die Teilnehmer stellten sich der sowohl sportlichen als auch psychologischen Herausforderung, 63 Löcher an einem

Tag zu spielen. Die größte Schwierigkeit bestand im erhöhten Spielrhythmus, um jede einzelne Bahn spielen zu können, was die Spieler mit Bravour meisterten!

Alle Spieler zeigten sich trotz physischer Erschöpfung begeistert, die Mammut-Golfpartie geschafft und sich selbst übertroffen zu haben. Der Tag endete mit einem

mehr als verdienten Abendessen und der anschließenden Siegerehrung.

n qué consiste su trabajo?

JV. Fundamentalmente, velamos por que todas las competiciones que se celebran en los 4 campos de Arabella Golf Mallorca, transcurran por los cauces adecuados a las reglas establecidas por la Federación Internacional de Golf. Nos aseguramos de que los campos estén en perfectas condiciones el día del torneo, las calles, los greens, que la señalización sea correcta, si hay algún obstáculo ajeno al campo lo retiramos…

JMO. También nos encargamos del listado de jugadores inscritos, cotejamos su handicap y, al final de la competición, entramos los nuevos datos directamente en los archivos informáticos de la Real Federación Española de Golf, cuando se trata de competiciones oficiales. ¿Cómo entraron a formar parte del Comité de Competición de Arabella?

JV. Bueno, hay que apuntar que nosotros formamos parte del Comité de Competición del campo de Golf Son Vida, que es el más antiguo de Mallorca. Pero sí, nos encargamos de los cuatro campos de Arabella Golf Mallorca.

Yo ya llevo más de 20 años formando parte de él; al principio entré por las ganas de ayudar, porque me gustaba mucho el golf, el ambiente de Golf Son Vida… Y así hasta hoy.

JMO. Yo entré en la época en que las federaciones se informatizaron. Soy profesional de la informática y estuve en la Federación Balear de Golf ayudando a implementar el sistema. Entonces me entró el gusanillo del golf, y hasta hoy. ¿También median cuando dos jugadores no se ponen de acuerdo entre ellos?

JV. Sí, efectivamente, esa es otra de nuestras labores. Para ello es muy importante para nosotros manejar con soltura dos libros: Las Reglas del Golf, y Las Decisiones del Golf.

Para hacerse una idea de lo complejo de este mundo, Las Decisiones del Golf consta de más de 1.000 páginas que dan respuesta a las incidencias más inesperadas. A veces, debemos recurrir a él cuando, al final de la competición, dos o cuatro jugadores no se ponen de acuerdo entre ellos sobre una decisión determinada.

Aparte de ustedes dos, ¿Alguien más forma parte del Comité de Competición?

JMO. Nuestra labor está centrada en los torneos de adultos, y nuestros compañeros Miona Roig y Ángel Sanchez-Cantalejo llevan el Comité de Alevines hasta Juniors, que prioritariamente se cuida de la Arabella Gollf Junior Academy, una de las más importantes de España.

hat does your work consist of?

JV. Basically, we ensure that all the tournaments held on the 4 courses belonging to Arabella Golf Mallorca run along lines that adapt to the rules established by the International Golf Federation. We make sure that the courses are in perfect conditions on the day of the tournament – the fairways, the greens – and that the signs are correct, if there is a foreign object on the course we remove it…

JMO. We are also in charge of the list of players enrolled, we check their handicap and at the end of the competition, we enter the new data directly into the computer files of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation, when the tournaments are official.

How did you come to form part of the Arabella Tournament Committee?

JV. Well, we should point out that we are members of the Tournament Committee of Golf Son Vida, which is the oldest course in Mallorca. But yes, we are in charge of the four courses of Arabella Golf Mallorca. I have been a committee member for over 20 years; at first I became a member because I wanted to help, because I loved

And so on until today.

JMO. I started when the federations went computerised. I am an IT professional, and I was I the Balearic Golf Federation helping to implement the system. I caught the golf bug then and still have it today.

And do you mediate when two players disagree?

JV. Yes, that is indeed another one of our duties. Which is why we have to master two books: The Rules of Golf, and The Decisions of Golf. To give you an idea of just how complex this area is, The Decisions of Golf has over 1,000 pages which respond to the most unexpected incidents. Sometimes we have to turn to it when, at the end of a tournament, two or four players disagree about a certain decision.

Apart from you two, is anyone else on the Tournament Committee?

JMO. Our work is focused on tournaments for adults, and our colleagues Miona Roig and Ángel Sanchez-Cantalejo run the Child Beginners to Juniors Committee, the priority of which is the Arabella Golf Junior Academy, one of the most important in Spain.

orin besteht Ihre Arbeit?

JV. Im Wesentlichen kontrollieren wir, dass sämtliche Turniere, die auf den vier Plätzen von Arabella Golf Mallorca ausgetragen werden, nach den Regeln des Internationalen Golfverbandes ablaufen. Wir sorgen dafür, dass Plätze, Bahnen, Grüns und Ausschilderungen am Turniertag in perfektem Zustand sind, entfernen Hindernisse, die nicht auf den Golfplatz gehören.

JMO. Wir kümmern uns auch um die Liste der teilnehmenden Spieler, gleichen ihre Handicaps ab. Bei offiziellen Turnieren geben wir nach deren Abschluss die Ergebnisse in die Datenbank des Spanischen Golfverbandes ein.

Wie sind Sie Mitglied der Wettbewerbskommission geworden?

JV. Wir beide sind Mitglieder der Wettbewerbskommission von Golf Son Vida, des ältesten Golfplatzes der Insel. Trotzdem sind wir für alle vier Arabella Golfplätze verantwortlich. Ich bin seit mehr als 20 Jahren dabei. Am Anfang wollte ich nur helfen, das Golfen und das Ambiente auf Golf Son Vida gefielen mir. Und so ist es geblieben.

JMO. Ich kam dazu, als die Verbände mit der Digitalisierung begannen. Von Beruf bin ich Informatiker und habe seinerzeit mitgeholfen, das IT-System beim Balearischen Golfverband zu installieren. Dabei begeisterte ich mich für das Golfspiel und mein Enthusiasmus hält bis heute an.

Sie vermitteln, wenn sich die Spieler nicht untereinander einigen können?

JV. Genau. Das ist ein anderer Teil unserer Arbeit. Aus diesem Grund müssen wir die zwei „Golfbibeln“ praktisch auswendig können: die Regeln des Golfspiels und die Entscheidungen zu den Golfregeln. Das zweite Buch hat mehr als tausend Seiten, mit Antworten auf unerwartete Zwischenfälle. Das zeigt die Komplexität des Spiels. Manchmal müssen wir das Werk konsultieren, wenn zwei oder vier Spieler am Ende des Turniers zu keiner Einigung kommen.

Wer ist außer Ihnen beiden noch Mitglied im Competition Committee?

JMO. Unsere Arbeit konzentriert sich auf die Erwachsenen-Turniere, während unsere Kollegen Miona Roig y Ángel Sánchez-Cantalejo die Wettbewerbs-kommissionen von Alevín bis Junior leiten, die hauptsächlich zur Arabella Golf Junior Academy gehören, eine der renommierten Golfschulen Spaniens.

Vuelta a los orígenes Back to the roots Zurück zu den Wurzeln

E

n breve, finalizarán las obras de recuperación de los hoyos 5 y 6 de Golf Son Muntaner, tal y como fueron concebidos en su diseño original por el arquitecto del campo, Kurt Rossknecht. De hecho, el diseñador alemán está supervisando todas las obras realizadas.

Ambos hoyos van a experimentar una mejora significativa. El hoyo 5 ve ampliados los tees de salida y el tamaño del green. Además, se ha construido un nuevo camino de acceso. En cuanto al hoyo 6, también ve ampliado los tees de salida, cuenta con un nuevo bunker y la ampliación del lago ya existente, además de contar con un nuevo camino.

ery soon the work to recover holes 5 and 6 of Golf Son Muntaner will be completed, designed to restore them to how they were conceived in the original design by course architect Kurt Rossknecht.

Actually, the German designer is supervising all of the work done.

Both holes will undergo a significant change. At hole 5 the tees and the green size have been increased. A new access path has also been built.

The tees have been enlarged at hole six as well, and there is a new bunker; the existing lake has been made bigger, and there is a new path.

n Kürze werden die Arbeiten an den Löchern 5 und 6 auf Golf Son Muntaner abgeschlossen sein. Die Bahnen präsentieren sich danach im von Kurt Rossknecht entworfenen Or iginaldesign. Der deutsche Golfplatzarchitekt über wacht daher auch die aktuellen Arbeiten.

Beide Bahnen erfahren eine spürbare Verbesserung. An Loch 5 wurden die Abschläge und die Grüns erweitert und ein neuer Zugang errichtet. Loch 6 wird ebenfalls über größere tees , einen neuen Bunker und einen neuen Zugang ver fügen. Außerdem wurde der bestehende See vergrößert.

n el año de su 15º aniversario, además de posicionarse como uno de los mejores campos de golf de las Baleares, Golf Son Muntaner sigue demostrando su compromiso con el medio ambiente, siendo el único campo de golf de las islas certificado en EMAS. Y, ¿qué es EMAS? Es el acrónimo de Eco-Management and Audit Scheme, una herramienta de gestión para organizaciones (industrias, empresas de servicios, organismos públicos, etc.) de aplicación voluntaria, que permite evaluar, mejorar y dar a conocer su comportamiento ambiental.

Actualmente, hay 47 organizaciones en nuestra comunidad autónoma que han implantado un sistema de gestión ambiental EMAS, con 88 centros registrados. Golf Son Muntaner dispone de dicha certificación, complementaria al Sistema de Gestión Ambiental ISO 14001, existente en todos los campos del grupo Arabella Golf Mallorca.

n the year of its 15 th anniversary, as well as positioning itself as one of the best courses in the Balearic Islands, Golf Son Muntaner continues to prove its commitment to the environment by becoming the only golf course on the islands certified by EMAS. And what is EMAS? Derzeit haben 47 Einrichtungen und Unternehmen an 88 Niederlassungen auf den Balearen die Normen des EMASGütesiegels eingeführt. Der Platz Golf Son Muntaner bekam das EMAS-Gütesiegel zusätzlich zum ISO 14001 Gütesiegel für Umweltschutz verliehen, mit dem alle Plätze von Arabella Golf Mallorca geehrt worden sind.

Nueva maquinaria para los campos

New machinery for the courses Neue Maschinen auf den Plätzen

A

rabella Golf Mallorca ha adquirido recientemente una serie de nuevas máquinas, con el objetivo de elevar la experiencia de jugar en sus 4 campos: - Dos tractores John Deere, con ruedas especiales para césped. Su trabajo es trasladar material.

- Una descompactadora Redexim Verti-quake 2516, que a través de unas cuchillas descompacta el suelo y hace que la hierba esté más sana.

- Una pinchadora pequeña modelo Redexim Verti Drain 7215, que se utiliza para hacer pinchados profundos tanto en greens como tees.

- Una pinchadora Procore 1298, para pinchar las calles y rough. Con esta máquina se consigue que entre mejor el agua a las raíces, y descompactar el suelo para que la planta esté más sana.

- Un procesador de canutos, que tritura

los pedazos de césped y tierra que sacan las pinchadoras al abrir los boquetes. A la vez que tritura reparte la tierra.

- Una Drainage Trencher Shelton para hacer drenajes sin necesidad de instalar tubo, siendo mucho mas rápida que el modelo convencional.

- Un escarificador Graden CSI Contour sand injection, máquina que saca la materia orgánica de los greens acumulada durante años de regar con agua depurada, intercambiándola por arena nueva que va inyectando.

Aparte, se han comprado tres maquinas de siega, tres multiusos de transporte y una moto para bunkers.

rabella Golf Mallorca recently acquired a series of new machines, with the aim of elevating the experience of playing on its 4 courses: - Two John Deere tractors, with special wheels for lawn. Their job is to move material.

- A Redexim Verti-quake 2516 decompactor, which decompacts the soil with blades for healthier grass.

- A small Redexim Verti Drain 7215, used to punch deep holes in both greens and tees.

- A Procore 1298 aerator, for aerating the fairways and rough. This machine helps the water to penetrate down to the roots, and decompacts the soil making the plant healthier.

‘The goal is to elevate the experience of playing on Arabella’s 4 courses’ - A core processor, which crushes the pieces of turf and earth the aerators bring up when they open up holes. It disperses the earth at the same time as it crushes it.

- A Shelton drainage trencher for making drains without installing pipes, much quicker than the conventional model.

- A Graden CSI Contour sand injection scarifier, a machine that removes the organic material accumulated in the greens from years of watering with purified water, replacing it with new sand which it injects.

As well as all this, three mowing machines, three multi-purpose transports and a bunker rakes have been purchased.

- Ein Graden CSI Contour Sand Injection, mit dem der Boden aufgelockert und organische Materie entfernt wird. Anschließend wird die Stelle mit aufbereitetem Wasser gegossen und neu besandet.

Außerdem hat die Arabella Golf Mallorca drei Mähmaschinen, drei Transportfahrzeuge und einen Motorrechen erworben.

Sin duda, un papel muy importante. El Sheraton Mallorca Arabella Golf Hotel es, por definición, un hotel para golfistas, ya vengan en pareja, en grupo de amigos o con la familia. El hotel apoya la oferta de Arabella Golf, de manera que entre ambos el cliente encuentra un servicio completo. Además, coinciden en la alta calidad de sus instalaciones y servicios, y nuestros clientes valoran mucho la cercanía de los campos de golf.

¿Cuáles son los nuevos paquetes a medida para clientes?

Tenemos gran variedad de paquetes que cubren todas las necesidades, independientemente de la frecuencia en que se quiera practicar este bonito deporte. El hotel tiene muchos clientes repetitivos y de larga estancia. Hemos querido flexibilizar la oferta, ya que parte de nuestros huéspedes no desean jugar todos los días.

También pensamos en que podremos dar la bienvenida a nuevos clientes que tienen miembros de familia que no juegan al golf.

¿Cuál es el porcentaje de huéspedes que son jugadores de golf?

Actualmente es prácticamente la totalidad de la clientela, a excepción de algunos clientes que están de negocios en Palma y buscan una ubicación tranquila, pero a la vez cercana al centro. ¿Qué facilidades encuentran los jugadores de golf en el Sheraton Mallorca Arabella Golf Hotel?

En primer lugar, mencionar que el hotel se renovó en su totalidad en el año 2013. Está rodeado por tres fantásticos campos de golf,

Son ellos los que los consideran de los mejores campos de Mallorca. La amabilidad y profesionalidad de los empleados es otro punto que mencionan en repetidas ocasiones. ¿Cuál es su visión como nuevo director? ¿Cómo está siendo su experiencia?

Mi visión es seguir manteniendo el Sheraton Mallorca Arabella Golf Hotel como referente en el turismo de golf, pero también acercarlo más a los mallorquines y, especialmente en verano y fines de semana, a las familias.

There can be no doubt that a very important one. By definition the Sheraton Mallorca Arabella Golf Hotel is a hotel for golfers, whether they come in couples, as groups of friends or with family. The hotel supports the range offered by Arabella Golf, so between the two guests encounter an allround service. Moreover, they coincide in terms of the high quality of their installations and services, and our guests deeply appreciate the proximity of the golf courses.

What new tailored packages are you offering guests?

We have a wide variety of packages to cover all needs, regardless of how frequently one wishes to play this wonderful sport. The hotel has many regular guests and long-stay guests. We wanted to offer more flexible options, as some of our guests do not wish to play every day. We

also thought we could welcome new guests with family members who are not golfers.

What percentage of your guests are golfers?

At present practically all of our guests, except for a few who are in Palma on business and want a quiet location which is also close to the city centre.

What facilities do golfers find at the Sheraton Mallorca Arabella Golf Hotel?

First of all, we should mention that the hotel was fully renovated in 2013. It is surrounded by three fantastic golf courses, plus a Pitch & Putt, so guests can enjoy 63 holes two minutes away from the hotel. A free shuttle service takes the players to the courses. After a great day’s golf, they can relax at our Shine Spa with indoor pool, or now outdoors in summer, surrounded by lovely gardens. To regain their strength, what could be better than trying an exquisite lunch or dinner in one of the two restaurants? And all this is 5 minutes from the centre of Palma and 15 minutes from the airport.

How do your guests rate the golf courses of Arabella Golf Mallorca?

Our guests’ comments highlight the extremely good condition of the courses, from the greens to the tees, and including

My vision is to maintain the Sheraton Mallorca Arabella Golf Hotel in its position as the flagship of golf tourism, but also to bring it closer to Mallorcans and - especially in summer and at weekends to families. We have fantastic installations that I am sure they will love.

It is a source of pleasure and pride for me to form part of this team.

Wir haben viele verschiedene Angebote, die die Wünsche der Gäste zufrieden stellen, unabhängig davon, wie oft sie bei ihrem Aufenthalt Golf spielen. Das Hotel hat viele Stammgäste, die über längere Zeiträume bleiben. Wir haben das Angebot flexibler gestaltet, da ein Teil unserer Gäste nicht täglich spielen will. Eine andere Idee ist, neue Gäste zu werben, auch wenn nicht alle Familienmitglieder Golf spielen.

Wie hoch ist der Anteil der Golfspieler bei den Hotelgästen?

Derzeit kommen fast alle Gäste zum Golf spielen. Wir haben jedoch auch Geschäftsreisende, die nach Palma kommen und ein ruhiges Hotel in unmittelbarer Stadtnähe suchen.

Was erwartet die Golfliebhaber im Sheraton Mallorca Arabella Golf Hotel?

Zunächst möchte ich hervorheben, dass das Hotel 2013 komplett renoviert wurde. Das Sheraton Mallorca Arabella Golf Hotel liegt in unmittelbarer Nähe zu drei phantastischen Golfplätzen, plus einem Pitch & Putt. Die Gäste können, nur zwei Minuten vom Hotel entfernt, auf vier Plätzen mit insgesamt 63 Löchern spielen. Für den Transport steht ihnen ein kostenloser Shuttle-Service zur Verfügung. Am Ende einer Golfrunde können sich die Gäste in unserem Shine Spa mit Innenpool entspannen. Oder jetzt im Sommer im Außenbereich mit seinen zauberhaften Gärten. In Ihrer Funktion als neuer Direktor: wie sehen Sie die Zukunft, welche Erfahrungen haben Sie gemacht?

Ich will, dass das Sheraton Mallorca Arabella Golf Hotel auch weiterhin eine der besten Adressen im Golftourismus bleibt, aber ich möchte das Hotel auch den Mallorquinern näherbringen und, vor allem in den Sommermonaten und an den Wochenenden, auch den Familien, die unsere ausgezeichnete Hotelanlage sicher zu genießen wissen. Und: es ist ein Vergnügen und eine Ehre, Teil dieses Teams zu sein.

esde cuándo es socio de Arabella Golf Mallorca? Me hice socio hace cuatro años, en el 2011. ¿Qué es lo que más le gusta de Arabella Golf Mallorca? Me encanta todo, es muy bonito, tiene grandes campos y además está a tres minutos de mi casa, por lo que es de fácil acceso para mí. ¿Cuál de los tres campos de golf del club le gusta más? Me gustan los tres, aunque son diferentes. El campo de Golf Son Vida es más pequeño, pero el paisaje es precioso y se disfruta mucho en verano; el de Golf Son Muntaner lo tiene todo, es un gran espacio y hasta podemos acceder a un campo de práctica. Por otra parte, Golf Son Quint está muy bien para el invierno, está muy despejado. ¿Recuerda algún momento emotivo que haya vivido en Arabella Golf Mallorca? El primer torneo que jugué aquí fue una sorpresa, ya que lo gané.

Empecé con un hándicap veintiséis y bajé hasta dieciocho. En el último hoyo hice un birdie, el primer golpe fue bueno y en el segundo, con un hierro cinco, lo dejé al lado de la bandera, por lo que fue fácil meterla.

I became a member four years ago, in 2011.

What do you like the most about Arabella Golf Mallorca?

I love all of it, it’s very beautiful, it has large courses and to boot it’s just three minutes from my house, so it is easy for me to get to.

Which of the club’s three golf courses do you like the most?

I like all three, although they are different. The Golf Son Vida course is smaller, but the scenery is gorgeous and you can really enjoy it in summer; Golf Son Muntaner has everything, it’s a huge space and you even have access to a practice course. Meanwhile Golf Son Quint is very good for winter, it’s very open.

The first tournament I played in here was a surprise, because I won it! I started with a handicap of twenty-six and I went down to eighteen. On the eighth hole I hit a birdie, the first stroke was good and on the second – with a five iron – I left the ball next to the flag, so it was easy to putt into the hole.

Mir gefällt einfach alles. Die Plätze sind groß und sehr schön und liegen nur drei Minuten von meiner Wohnung entfernt. So bin ich schnell auf dem Platz.

Welcher der drei Plätze ist Ihr Favorit?

Mir gefallen alle drei, obwohl sie unterschiedlich sind. Golf Son Vida ist kleiner, aber die Umgebung ist phantastisch, was man im Sommer sehr genießen kann. Golf Son Muntaner bietet alles, der Platz ist groß und man kann von hier aus sogar zum Übungsgelände gehen. Golf Son Quint ist weitläufig und ideal für den Winter.

Haben Sie einen besonderen Moment auf den Plätzen von Arabella Golf Mallorca erlebt?

Das erste Turnier, das ich hier spielte, war eine große Überraschung, denn ich gewann.

Am Anfang lag mein Handicap bei 27, später bei 18. Am letzten Loch schlug ich einen birdie, der erste Schlag war gut. Beim zweiten Schlag schlug ich den Ball mit einem 5er Eisen neben die Flagge und so war das Einlochen ein Kinderspiel.

esde cuándo es socio de Arabella Golf Mallorca? Hace cinco años que decidí hacerme socio, llevaba tiempo pensándolo porque me gustaban mucho los campos que tienen. ¿Qué es lo que más le gusta de Arabella Golf Mallorca? En primer lugar, la proximidad, ya que está muy cerca del centro de Palma. Los campos están muy bien cuidados y son bastante diferentes entre sí: Golf Son Quint es más ancho y plano, Golf Son Muntaner es más técnico, y Golf Son Vida más estrecho y estimulante. ¿Además de los campos, qué instalaciones le gustan más? Me encanta la terraza de Golf Son Muntaner, tiene unas vistas espectaculares y es muy agradable. ¿Recuerda algún momento emotivo vivido en Arabella Golf Mallorca? El torneo de La Caixa que se jugó hace unas semanas, porque gané y fue muy emocionante. Además, tengo franquicias de McDonalds, y al final de los torneos de niños, actuamos en el campo con Ronald McDonald y entregamos los premios a los más pequeños, es muy gratificante ver disfrutar a los niños en este entorno.

I decided to join five years ago. I had been thinking about it for some time because I really liked the courses they have.

What do you like the most about Arabella Golf Mallorca?

First of all the proximity, as it is very close to the centre of Palma. The courses are very well tended, and they are quite different from one another: Golf Son Quint is broader and flat, Golf Son Muntaner is more technical, and Golf Son Vida is narrower and stimulating.

Aside from the courses, what installations do you like the most?

I love the terrace of Golf Son Muntaner, it has spectacular views and is really pleasant.

The La Caixa tournament that was played a few weeks ago, because I won and it was really exciting. Also I own McDonalds franchises, and at the end of the children’s tournaments, we perform on the course with Ronald McDonald award the prizes to the youngest children.

It’s really satisfying to see the children enjoying themselves in these surroundings.

Ich bin seit fünf Jahren Mitglied. Ich hatte vorher eine Zeit lang schon mit dem Gedanken einer Mitgliedschaft gespielt, ich fand die Plätze beeindruckend.

Was gefällt Ihnen bei Arabella Golf Mallorca am besten?

An erster Stelle die Nähe zum Stadtzentrum von Palma. Die Plätze sind sehr gepflegt und ziemlich unterschiedlich. Golf Son Quint ist breiter und flacher angelegt, Golf Son Muntaner eher auf technische Fertigkeiten ausgerichtet. Golf Son Vida ist kleiner, aber eine anregende Herausforderung.

Welche Anlagen gefallen Ihnen außer den Plätzen?

Die Terrasse auf Golf Son Muntaner mit dem phantastischen Ausblick ist ein wunderschöner Ort. Haben Sie einen besonderen Moment auf den Plätzen von Arabella Golf Mallorca erlebt?

Vor wenigen Wochen habe ich beim Turnier La Caixa gesiegt. Das war ein bewegender Moment. Ich bin Franchise-Nehmer von McDonalds und zum Abschluss der Kinderturniere spielen wir immer mit Ronald McDonald auf dem Platz und machen die Siegerehrung für die Kleinsten. Es ist herrlich zu sehen, wieviel Spaß die Kinder in dieser Umgebung hier haben.

l equipo de Administración de Arabella Golf Mallorca está compuesto por Juan Ramos Melià, Unit Controller; José Antonio Soler Pol, Contable & AP; Leonor San Martin Pancorbo, Income Audit & AR; Mónica Luque Hernández, RRHH; y Esperanza Osma Montáñez, Cost Controller.

¿Qué peculiaridades tiene llevar la administración de un campo de golf, a diferencia de lo que podría ser otro tipo de negocio?... Asemejándola a la gestión hotelera, hay muy pocas diferencias, la mayor en nuestro caso es que realmente son 4 campos de golf (con 3 recepciones), con las peculiaridades de cada uno de ellos. Quizás una de las mayores dife-

rencias es el escaso tiempo que hay a la hora de gestionar el Check-in/Check-out y cobro del cliente, ya que este proceso en el campo de golf se debe hacer en el mismo momento de la llegada del cliente, y genera más errores administrativos de los que se podrían generar en un hotel.

En cuanto a la gestión de los gastos, es más dinámico, ya que parte de estos

Los diferentes productos son la venta de Green fees, alquiler de buggies, trolleys, set de palos etc., venta de merchandise en los Proshops (ropa, zapatos, bolas….), gestión del restaurante de Golf Son Muntaner (F&B, eventos, Bodas-Bautizos-Comuniones), gestión de inmuebles, campo de prácticas (alquiler de bolas…), clases de golf dirigidas a adultos, grupos, incentivos y similares, Gestión de la Arabella Junior Golf Academy, entre otros. ¿Cómo llevan el hecho de trabajar en un ambiente como el de Golf Son Muntaner, tienen tiempo para salir por el campo?

Hay que tener en cuenta que la relación entre tranquilidad y relajación del cliente, es “inversamente proporcional” al trabajo que hay en las oficinas. Para que el cliente externo disfrute y se relaje, el personal de atención al público debe poder trabajar bien y para ello el resto de personal que no estamos de cara al público debemos ser un pilar para ayudarles en este sentido, es decir, tenemos que tener vocación de servicio al cliente “interno”. ¿Qué objetivos se marcan? A nivel de departamento, cada año tenemos objetivos para mejorar, cambios etc., aunque es en el trabajo diario donde se puede ver la evolución, ya que los principios de nuestro departamento se basan en: fiabilidad, oportunidad, mejora continua y proactividad.

What peculiarities does the administration of a golf course have, as compared to any other kind of business?... Compared to running a hotel, there are very few differences. The biggest one in our case is that really there are 4 golf courses (with 3 receptions), with the peculiarities inherent in each one. Perhaps one of the

major differences is the short amount of time available for dealing with the Checkin/Check-out and collecting payment from guests, as this process has to be done at the same time as the customer arrives in golf clubs, and it gives rise to more administrative errors than it might in a hotel.

In terms of management of expenses, it is more dynamic, as part of these costs are connected to factors that cannot be controlled easily, since golf courses are directly related to nature which is unpredictable at times.

What different business areas does Arabella Golf Mallorca cover? (Green fees, restaurants, events, etc.)… The different products are the sale of green fees, rental of buggies, trolleys, sets of clubs etc., sale of merchandise in the Pro-shops (clothes, shoes, bags….), management of the restaurant of Golf Son Muntaner (F&B, events, weddings, christenings, communions), properties management, practice course (ball rental…), golf lessons for adults, groups, incentive trips and similar, management of the Arabella Junior Golf Academy, and others.

How do you deal with working in an atmosphere like that of Golf Son

‘Our principles are reliability, opportunity, continuous improvement and proactivity’ Muntaner; do you have time to go out on the course? You have to bear in mind that the relationship between the customers’ tranquillity and relaxation is “inversely proportionate” to the work there is in the offices. For the external client to be able to enjoy and relax, the personnel attending to the public have to be able to work well, and to achieve this, those staff members who are not dealing with the public must be a pillar of support to them in this regard. That is, we have to have a vocation for service towards the “internal” customer.

What goals do you set yourselves? On a departmental level, every year we have goals for improvement, changes etc., although it is in our everyday work that you see the evolution, as the principles of our department are based on reliability, opportunity, continuous improvement and pro-activity.

Controller, sind das Team in der Abteilung Verwaltung von Arabella Golf Mallorca.

Welche Unterschiede gibt es bei der Verwaltung eines Golfplatzes und anderer Unternehmen? Die Verwaltung eines Golfplatzes funktioniert ähnlich wie die eines Hotels. Ein Unterschied ist, dass Arabella vier Golfplätze, drei davon mit Rezeption unterhält und jeder Platz seine Besonderheiten hat. Ein weiterer Unterschied ist, dass Check-in, Check-out und das Zahlungsprocedere unserer Gäste in kürzerer Zeit ablaufen müssen und zwar direkt bei ihrer Ankunft. Dadurch entstehen mehr Fehler als bei einem Hotel.

Tras la reforma, se han logrado 450 metros cuadrados, distribuidos en cuatro salas principales, que permiten combinarse entre sí de 14 formas diferentes y con una capacidad total de 360 personas. Además, se ofrece la posibilidad de hacer presentaciones de nuevos modelos de coches tanto en la zona interior del área de conferencias como en la terraza. La inversión total asciende a un millón de euros.

n el 2005, los tres amigos los señores Manfred Krüper, Wolfhard Leichnitz y Doron Spinner, con segunda residencia en Mallorca y apasionados jugadores de golf, decidieron organizar un torneo amistoso de golf para amigos y conocidos comunes, que también habían fijado su segunda residencia en Mallorca. Rápidamente encontraron el nombre, Residential Cup, y el campo en el que querían jugarlo: Golf Son Muntaner.

Para la cena eligieron The St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort. El torneo se volvió a organizar como cada año, gozando de gran popularidad y convirtiendose en un evento de prestigio. El número de los participantes queda limitado a 72 jugadores, en su mayoría conocidas personalidades del sector económico alemán. n 2005 the three friends Manfred Krüper, Wolfhard Leichnitz and Doron Spinner, owners of holiday homes on Mallorca, as well as passionate golfers, decided to organise a social golf tournament for their mutual friends and acquaintances who also had second homes on the island. They quickly found a name for the event – the Residential Cup - and a golf course Golf Son Muntaner. For the dinner location they chose The St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort. The Residential Cup was celebrated again in 2015 and the tournament has turned into a major event. esde enero, está en marcha la edición 2015 de nuestra campaña de responsabilidad social “12 Bajo Par”. Para esta nueva edición hemos querido contar con la presencia de las asociaciones que ya estuvieron invitadas en 2012, y cerrar así un ciclo de 3 años y 36 asociaciones o entidades de carácter local.

Solo una nueva incorporación, la Fundación Dime de ayuda al enfermo terminal, entra como novedad para este ejercicio.

El resto del calendario lo protagonizarán: Associació Down i Més (enero), Aspanob (febrero), Tip Tap (marzo), Fundación Respiralia (abril), Dentistas sobre ruedas (mayo), Fundación Mainel (junio), Mallorca Sense Fam (julio), Sonrisa Médica (agosto), ADAA (septiembre), Fundación Dime (octubre), Fundación Jigi Seme (noviembre), y Banco de Alimentos (diciembre).
