sí es como llamaba Oscar Wilde al duro invierno en uno de sus cuentos. Y permítanme la metáfora, derivada de los fríos vientos de contracción económica que están soplando recientemente y que están afectando sobremanera al sector del golf en Mallorca. Últimamente todas las medidas de austeridad auspiciadas por el gobierno enfrían un sector que debería ser considerado la punta de lanza para salir de la crisis: las nuevas tasas aeroportuarias, la falta de promoción turística, la subida del iva, la aplicación de nuevos impuestos como la tasa sobre agua depurada, etc., no contribuyen precisamente a activar el mercado turístico de calidad, manifiestamente desestacionalizador, y mucho menos uno de sus más importantes motivadores: el turista de golf.

Pero el golf también es un producto de ocio y entretenimiento, y eso es lo que debemos ofrecer a nuestros practicantes. Hay que ser optimistas y seguir siendo competitivos, ofreciendo productos y servicios excelentes.

Esa era la visión del Sr. Schörghuber, que apostó por un turismo de calidad todo el año en Mallorca, y por ello realizó su sueño, al que hoy damos continuidad, a través de tres hoteles de máxima categoría y 63 hoyos de primer nivel.

Como demostración de nuestra estrategia de mejora continua, el Sheraton Mallorca, que abrió en 1992, y por tanto acaba de cumplir 20 años, acometerá una importante reforma que lo situará de nuevo en los más altos estándares de calidad y servicio. Este hotel abre todo el año y está íntimamente ligado al producto de golf, añadiendo valor adicional a muchos otros servicios turísticos complementarios. Y en nuestro Golf Son Muntaner también realizaremos un fuerte esfuerzo inversor en incrementar sus prestaciones, tanto en el propio campo de juego como en instalaciones técnicas.

Todo ello supone una gran apuesta que no hace sino reforzar nuestro compromiso en seguir incrementando la competitividad frente a otros destinos que quizás pueden disponer de reglamentaciones más favorables, pero nuestra confianza, nuestra ilusión y la de todos nuestros colaboradores serán elementos básicos para hacer despertar pronto la primavera en Mallorca y dejar atrás el largo invierno. ¡Muchas gracias a todos por su apoyo!

hat is what Oscar Wilde called the harsh winter in one of his stories. Please allow me to use the metaphor, which comes from the cold wind of economic slowdown that is considerably affecting golf activities in Majorca.

Recently all the austerity measures promoted by the government are cooling a sector that should be considered as the spearhead to emerge from the crisis. New airport taxes, the lack of tourism promotion, the VAT increase, the application of new taxes like the fee for treated water, etc. do not exactly contribute to activate the high quality tourism market, manifestly unseasonal, and much less, one its most important motivators: the golf tourist.

But golf is also a leisure, enjoyment and entertainment, and that’s what we have to offer our players! We have to be optimistic and continue to be competitive, offering excellent products and services.

That was the vision of Mr. Schörghuber, who was committed to year-round quality tourism in Majorca, and that is why he fulfilled his dream, which we are now continuing, with three first-class hotels and 63 top class holes.

As a demonstration of our continuous improvement strategy, the Sheraton Mallorca, that opened in 1992, and therefore is now 20 years old, will undergo a big alteration, which will position it again with the highest quality and service standards. This hotel is open all year round and is closely linked to the golf product, providing many other complementary tourism services with added value. We will also heavily invest in our Golf Son Muntaner to increase its features, on both the course and in the technical facilities.

All of this represents a heavy bet, not only reinforces our commitment to further enhance the competitiveness to other destinations, which perhaps may have more favorable regulations, but our sureness, our hopes and the ones from all our partners, are basic elements to awaken early spring in Majorca.

Die Metapher sei mir gestattet, abgeleitet vom kalten Wind der wirtschaftlichen Regression, der in letzter Zeit weht und den Golf-Sektor auf Mallorca über die Maße beeinflusst.

Alle von der Regierung geförderten Sparmaßnahmen kühlen nun einen Sektor ab, der eine Lanze für die Überwindung der Krise brechen sollte: neue Flughafengebühren, mangelnde Förderung des Tourismus, die Mehrwertsteuererhöhung, die Einführung neuer Steuern wie die Gebühr für aufbereitetes Wasser, usw. tragen weder dazu bei den eindeutig saisonunabhängigen Markt des Qualitäts-Tourismus zu aktivieren, noch einen seiner wichtigsten Motivatoren: den Golf-Touristen.

Aber Golf ist ein Freizeitprodukt zur Freude und Unterhaltung, und das ist es, was wir unseren Spielern anzubieten haben! Man muss optimistisch sein, und weiterhin durch Anbieten erstklassiger Produkte und Dienstleistungen wettbewerbsfähig bleiben. Durch seine Vision, sich für den ganzjährigen Qualitätstourismus auf Mallorca zu entscheiden, hat Herr Schörghuber seinen Traum verwirklicht.

Wir setzen ihn fort, mit drei Hotels der Spitzenklasse und 63 Loch höchsten Niveaus.

stimad@s golfistas, en sus manos tienen el segundo número de la revista Arabella Golf Mallorca.

Tenemos muchas novedades que contarles, ya que estamos en continuo movimiento para que sigan disfrutando del golf en nuestros campos.

En 2012 se han hecho notables inversiones que repercuten de manera directa en sus experiencias: nueva maquinaria de mantenimiento, nueva flota de buggies en Golf Son Muntaner, rediseño de interiores del restaurante Son Muntaner, nueva instalación de mantenimiento en Golf Son Vida, o la mejora de los accesos a Golf Son Quint, Son Quint Pitch & Putt y Son Muntaner.

Seguimos apostando por el futuro del golf en Mallorca con nuestra Arabella Golf Academy y su escuela infantil, que cuenta con más de 150 alumnos.

En cuanto al medioambiente, este 2013 recibiremos las certificaciones ISO 14.001 en los cuatro campos, y la certificación EMAS para Golf Son Muntaner.

Además, lanzaremos las nuevas páginas web donde podrán obtener mayor información y mantener una relación más directa con nosotros, permitiendo, entre otros servicios, las reservas online en tiempo real de un modo fácil e intuitivo.

De cara a este año nuevo, les anticipamos que tenemos planeada una significativa mejora en Golf Son Muntaner, mejorando tees, zonas arboladas, señalética y la incorporación de una planta de ósmosis que mejorará la calidad del agua de riego, y por tanto, la experiencia del juego.

En cuanto al compromiso social, en 2013 continuaremos con la campaña “12 Bajo Par”, colaborando con doce nuevas asociaciones a las cuales destinaremos todo lo recaudado.

Por último, quiero aprovechar para pedirles que nos sigan haciendo llegar cualquier sugerencia que puedan tener sobre nuestras actuaciones. Son una vía inmejorable para seguir avanzando por el camino adecuado.

Espero disfruten de los contenidos y de seguir jugando al golf con nosotros. Es un placer formar parte de sus buenos recuerdos.

ear Golfers, you are now holding the second issue of the Arabella Golf Mallorca magazine. We have lots of news for you, and are in continuous motion so that you can carry on enjoying golf on our courses.

Some notable investments were made in 2012, with direct repercussions on your experiences: new maintenance machinery, a new fleet of buggies at Golf Son Muntaner, redesign of the interior of the Son Muntaner restaurant, new maintenance facility at Golf Son Vida, or improvement of the accesses to Golf Son Quint, Son Quint Pitch & Putt and Son Muntaner.

We continue to place a bet on the future of golf in Mallorca with our Arabella Golf Academy and its school for children, which now has over 150 pupils.

In terms of the environment, in 2013 we shall be receiving the ISO 14.001 certification for all four courses, and the EMAS certification for Golf Son Muntaner.

We shall also be launching our new websites, where you will be able to find more information and keep in more direct contact with us, allowing, amongst others, for on-line reservations to be made in real time in an easy, intuitive manner.

For the new year, we can inform you that we have a significant improvement planned for Golf Son Muntaner, with better tees, wooded areas, signposting and the inclusion of an osmosis plant which will improve the quality of irrigation water and consequently the game experience.

With regard to social commitment, in 2013 we shall be continuing our “12 Under Par” campaign, collaborating with twelve new associations to which all the funds raised will be donated.

Finally, I should like to take advantage of this occasion to ask you to carry on sending us any suggestions you may have regarding our actions, as they are an excellent means of making progress along the right path.

erehrte Golffreunde, Sie halten die zweite Ausgabe unseres Magazins Arabella Golf Mallorca in Ihren Händen. Beim Lesen werden Sie viele Neuigkeiten erfahren, denn Dynamik ist Teil unserer Unternehmenspolitik - damit Sie das Golfspielen auf unseren Plätzen weiterhin genießen können.

Im vergangenen Jahr haben wir beachtliche Investitionen getätigt, die sich direkt auf Ihr Spielerlebnis auswirken: neue Geräte zur Instandhaltung und Pflege, neue Buggies-Flotte auf Son Muntaner und Auffrischung des Interieurs im Restaurant, neue Instandhaltungsanlagen auf Son Vida sowie Verbesserung der Zufahrten zu Son Quint, Son Quint Pitch & Putt und Son Muntaner.

Wir setzen auf die Zukunft des Golfsports auf Mallorca – mit unserer Arabella Golf Academy und der Golfschule für Kinder, zu der mehr als 150 Jungen und Mädchen gehören.

Darüber hinaus gestalten wir unsere Internetseiten neu, auf denen wir Ihnen mehr Information bieten und den gegenseitigen Kontakt vertiefen.

Auf den neuen Seiten können Sie über unkomplizierte und intuitive Menüauswahl Reservierungen in Echtzeit vornehmen.

Für das neue Jahr möchten wir Ihnen eine umfassende Modernisierung auf Son Muntaner ankündigen.

So werden Tees, Beschilderungen und Markierungen verbessert und Baumgruppen neu gestaltet.

Die Anschaffung einer Osmosis-Anlage ist ebenfalls geplant, was zu einer höheren Qualität des Wassers für die Bewässerung des Platzes und damit zu einem hochklassigeren Spielerlebnis beiträgt.

Auch setzen wir unser soziales Engagement fort und unterstützen mit unserer Kampagne „12 Bajo Par“ zwölf weitere gemeinnützige Vereine mit Spendengeldern.

SON MUNTANER GOLF Desafío a la excelencia A challenge to excellence Anspruch auf Vorzüglichkeit

D

esde su apertura en el año 2000, Son Muntaner es reconocido por los aficionados al golf como uno de los mejores campos de Mallorca. Cualquier jugador amante de los desafíos disfrutará sin duda de “enfrentarse” a sus 18 hoyos, que exigen una gran variedad de golpes y de estrategias. Tanto para hándicaps bajos como altos, Son Muntaner, un par 72 de 6.226 metros, ofrece un recorrido que no tiene parangón, y que requiere la utilización de todos los palos de la bolsa.

Situado en la zona boscosa de Na Burguesa, un típico entorno mediterráneo

a menos de diez minutos del centro de Palma y con vistas a su bahía, el campo es una verdadera joya de la naturaleza, con especies tan singulares como el olivo milenario Na Capitana, además de encinas, pinos, lagos y un sinfín de especies de la fauna autóctona.

Entre otros torneos de primer nivel que se celebran anualmente, en 2009 Son Muntaner fue protagonista mundial al albergar el Mallorca Skins Game, con jugadores de la talla de José María Olazábal, Justin Rose, Martin Kaymer o Robert Karlsson, entre otros.

KURT ROSSKNECHT, EL DISEÑADOR. Cuenta Kurt Rossknecht, el

diseñador del campo de Son Muntaner, que cuando hace 25 años el señor Josef Schörghuber le mostró una extensión de tierra junto a la urbanización de Son Vida, y le preguntó si era adecuada para la construcción de un campo de golf, él tuvo ganas de dar saltos de alegría. Porque rara vez, relata Rossknecht, un diseñador de campos de golf dispone de un espacio tan hermoso: a pocos minutos de la ciudad pero sin ver ni un solo edificio, con un paisaje maravilloso y rico, y hermosas vistas a la bahía de Palma y a la ciudad.

Las pronunciadas pendientes y la orografía del terreno supusieron un reto no siempre fácil de resolver. Se respetaron zonas boscosas de especial relevancia y se plantaron otras especies autóctonas que realzaran aún más el recorrido y preservaran la esencia del lugar. Lo mismo sucedió con las paredes de piedra o “marjades”, una de las señas de identidad del campo.

Pero al final, lo más importante según Rossknecht, es que se consiguió construir

un campo desafiante para todo tipo de jugadores. Como así ha demostrado el paso del tiempo.

ver since it opened in 2000, Son Muntaner has been recognised by golf enthusiasts as one of the best courses on Mallorca.

Any player who loves a challenge is certain to enjoy “facing up to” its 18 holes, which require a wide variety of strokes and strategies. For both low and high handicaps, Son Muntaner, with a par of 72 over 6,226 metres, offers an unparalleled round of golf, and one which calls for all the clubs in the bag.

Located in the woody area of Na Burguesa, a typical Mediterranean setting less than ten minutes from the centre of Palma and affording views of the bay, the course is a veritable jewel of nature, containing singular species such as the ancient olive tree, Na Capitana, alongside holm-oaks, pine trees, lakes and a host of indigenous fauna.

Among other top tournaments held here every year, in 2009 the international spotlight fell on Son Muntaner when

it hosted the Mallorca Skins Game, with players as important as José María Olazábal, Justin Rose, Martin Kaymer or Robert Karlsson, and others.

Son Muntaner also has a practice area with driving range, putting green and pitching area on a par with those of the best courses in Europe. As well as a comfortable clubhouse with excellent views and a restaurant with a tempting menu and private rooms.

the Son Muntaner course, tells that when Mr. Josef Schörghuber showed him a tract of land beside the Son Vida housing estate 25 years ago and asked him if it was suitable for constructing a golf course, he

wanted to jump with joy. Because it is rare, Rossknecht says, for a golf course designer to have such a beautiful space to work with – just a few minutes from the city but not a building in sight, with a wonderful, rich landscape, and lovely views of the Bay of Palma and the city.

The steep slopes and orography of the terrain made for a challenge that was not always easy to overcome. The most relevant wooded areas were left intact and other indigenous species were planted to enhance the course even more and preserve the essence of the place. The same was true of the dry-stone walls or “marjades”, one of the identity marks of the course.

But ultimately, the most important aspect, according to Rossknecht, is that he managed to build a course that is challenging for all kinds of players. As has been proven with the passage of time.

Jeder Golfspieler, der Herausforderungen sucht, findet hier sein Eldorado – die 18 Löcher erfordern eine große Bandbreite an Abschlagsvarianten und vielfältigen Strategien. Eine Golfrunde auf Son Muntaner sucht ihresgleichen. Auf den 6.226 Metern des 72 Par Courts kommen, unabhängig vom Handicap, sämtliche Schläger zum Einsatz.

„Von Golf Enthusiasten als einer der besten Golfplätze auf Mallorca geschätzt“ Der Golfplatz liegt, umgeben von der bewaldeten Bergkette Na Burguesa und mit Blick auf die Palmesaner Bucht, in einer typischen Mittelmeerlandschaft, weniger als zehn Minuten von Palmas Stadtzentrum entfernt. Der Platz ist ein wahres Kleinod der Natur, das nicht nur den tausendjährigen Olivenbaum Na Capitana beherbergt. Auch Steineichen, Pinien, Seen und zahlreiche einheimische Tierarten sind hier zu finden.

Auf dem Court werden jedes Jahr renommierte Turniere ausgetragen. So war Son Muntaner 2009 Gastgeber der Mallorca Skins Games, an denen bekannte Profis, u.a.

José María Olazábal, Justin Rose, Martin Kaymer oder Robert Karlsson, teilnahmen.

Wie alle erstklassigen Golfplätze bietet Son Muntaner ein Übungsgelände mit Driving Range, Putting Green und Pitching Area. Außerdem verfügt der Platz über ein komfortables Clubhouse mit traumhaften Ausblicken, einem Restaurant mit erlesener Speisekarte und noblen Privatsalons.

Design von Son Muntaner verantwortlich zeichnete, erinnert sich, wie ihm Josef Schörghuber vor 25 Jahren ein Gelände neben der Siedlung Son Vida zeigte und ihn fragte, ob man darauf einen Golfplatz bauen könne. „Ich hätte vor Freude Luftsprünge machen können. Es ist wirklich selten, dass ein Designer das Glück hat, einen Golfplatz auf einem so wunderschönen Gelände zu entwerfen, das zwar in der Nähe der Stadt liegt, aber wo kein Gebäude den Blick versperrt, das von einer zauberhaften Landschaft umgeben ist, mit phantastischem Ausblick auf die Bucht und die Stadt“, so Rossknecht.

Die steilen Abhänge und die Orographie des Geländes waren teilweise eine hohe Herausforderung. An bestimmten Stellen wurden die Waldstücke erhalten, an anderen einheimische Arten angepflanzt, die den Charakter des Platzes betonten und das ursprüngliche Wesen des Geländes bewahrten. Die „Marjades“ genannten Steinmauern sind ebenfalls zu einem Markenzeichen von Son Muntaner geworden.

Der größte Erfolg liegt für Rossknecht jedoch in der Schöpfung eines Golfplatzes, der eine Herausforderung für alle Spieler darstellt.

Die Zeit hat ihm recht gegeben.

NA CAPITANA El olivo más antiguo de Mallorca · The oldest olive tree on Mallorca · Der älteste Olivenbaum Mallorcas

uando estamos llegando casi al final del recorrido de Son Muntaner, a la altura del hoyo 15 nos sorprende la majestuosidad de Na Capitana, el olivo milenario más antiguo de Mallorca y catalogado como “Árbol Singular” por el Gobierno Balear.

Na Capitana tiene más de nueve metros de perímetro, y de su corpulento tronco de dos metros arriman cuatro ramas primarias que hacen que sobrepase los siete metros de altura en su conjunto. Su copa supera los seis metros y medio de diámetro y su envergadura, en general, es digna de ser contemplada con admiración durante largos minutos.

La impronta de Na Capitana es tal que, con el último cambio de imagen corporativa, su figura se ha convertido en el logotipo de Golf Son Muntaner.

lmost at the end of the Son Muntaner course, at hole 15, we are surprised by the majesty of Na Capitana, the oldest of Mallorca’s ancient olive trees, catalogued as a ‘Singular Tree’ by the Balearic Government.

Na Capitana has a perimeter of over nine metres, and four primary branches grow out of its corpulent two-metre trunk, making it tower over seven metres tall in total. Its canopy is over six and a half metres in diameter and its general magnitude is worthy of many long minutes of admiring contemplation.

So impressive is Na Capitana that when the last corporate image change took place, its figure became the logo of Golf Son Muntaner.

urz vor dem Ende der Golfrunde auf Son Muntaner erwartet den Golfspieler ein besonderer Anblick – an Loch 15 erhebt sich majestätisch Na Capitana, der tausendjährige und älteste Olivenbaum Mallor-

cas. Na Capitana wurde in den Katalog einzigartiger Bäume der Balearischen Regierung aufgenommen.

Der ehr würdige „Gigant“ hat einen Umfang von sage und schreibe neun Metern, aus seinem zwei Meter hohen Stamm ragen vier Hauptäste bis zu einer Höhe von sieben Metern auf, seine Krone misst mehr als sechseinhalb Meter. Für die Betrachtung dieser außergewöhnlichen Naturschönheit sollte man sich wirklich ein paar Minuten Zeit nehmen.

Die imposante Erscheinung des Na Capitana findet sich seit der letzten Änderung auch im Firmenzeichen des Golfplatzes Son Muntaner wieder.

uando en 1956 Meliá Hotels International abrió su primer hotel, en Mallorca no había ningún campo de golf, ¿Qué idea se tenía de este deporte?

Antes de la guerra había habido precursores, como el campo de 9 hoyos de Jaime Enseñat en el Puerto de Alcudia. Pero en los 50 no quedaba nada de aquella aventura visionaria. Creo que entre los años 50 y 60 estábamos más preocupados por cómo acoger al volumen creciente de veraneantes que aspiraban a venir a Mallorca, que por completar nuestro sol y playa con una oferta deportiva comple-

mentaria, que en aquellos tiempos podía considerarse “elitista”.

Cincuenta y siete años después, la isla cuenta con más de veinte campos de primera categoría. ¿Es el golf un pilar del turismo de calidad en Mallorca?

Indudablemente lo es: hoy las cosas han cambiado radicalmente, y lo que debemos hacer para seguir manteniendo nuestro liderazgo y nuestro nivel de vida, sustentado en gran parte en el turismo, es diferenciarnos, segmentar nuestra oferta de manera que cada perfil y segmento de la demanda pueda encontrar lo que quiera en Mallorca.

Además, nuestra localización geográfica y geopolítica, nuestro clima y nuestro paisaje, dotan a los campos de golf de Mallorca de una belleza y variedad que excede, por lo general, las expectativas de los jugadores internacionales y, lo que es mejor, los fideliza. ¿Cómo se aficionó usted a este deporte, y cuánto hace que lo practica?

Pues no pude evitar “caer en la tentación” de practicarlo hace ya unos 30 años, y desde entonces lo disfruto, aunque esporádicamente debido a mis viajes y a mi agenda de trabajo y familiar. Viviendo en Son Vida y cerca de un campo como éste,

“El golf te devuelve más de lo que tú le das: salud, optimismo, amistad,...” es algo natural y que me sigue atrayendo 30 años después. ¿Qué paralelismos existen entre jugar un partido de golf y dirigir una gran empresa?

Podría parecer una frivolidad el compararlos, porque el golf es una práctica relajante, divertida, mientras que a los mandos de una gran empresa no se puede jugar, hay que medirlo todo mucho más, porque tus decisiones involucran a todo tu entorno y a muchas personas que dependen de ti.

Ello no es óbice para que, mientras se juega al golf, puedan avanzarse o crearse grandes negocios, porque el entorno es propicio para hablar con serenidad, para generar confianza, y puedo asegurarle que muchas veces hemos fraguado acuerdos o alianzas en un campo de golf…

Usted juega habitualmente en Son Vida. ¿Cómo definiría el campo y qué destacaría de él?

Es un campo antiguo, con árboles altos y calles sombrías que en verano te permiten jugar a pesar del sol, y en invierno te protegen del viento. Además, sientes que estás jugando en la montaña con vistas al mar. Y algo que me parece clave es que se puede jugar caminando sin coger el coche, pues las distancias no son tan enormes como en otros campos –también excelentes– de Mallorca. Es una belleza.

Cuando vuelve la vista atrás y ve todo lo que ha conseguido en estas casi seis décadas, ¿qué siente?

Debo decir que me siento muy orgulloso, sobre todo por mi familia y por mis empleados de tantos años, que han hecho de esta empresa que creamos hace tanto tiempo su “casa” y su “familia”. Sin embargo, volviendo la vista atrás siempre hay cosas que uno haría de diferente manera: por ejemplo, me siento feliz de haber impulsado la internacionalización de la compañía, pero me gustaría haber ido más rápido, pues de esta manera ahora tendríamos un volumen de producto exterior aún mayor que nos ayudaría a capear mejor la crisis en España.

Como empresario, ¿Cuál es el hoyo más difícil que ha afrontado en su larga trayectoria?

A lo largo de 57 años, puede imaginarse que me resulta difícil identificar un solo “hoyo”: yo diría que hemos pasado momentos difíciles, a veces por asumir determinados riesgos, y a veces simplemente debido a la coyuntura externa y al entorno, pero de todos ellos hemos

sabido recuperarnos y seguir siendo un referente de la industria.

Más allá de la empresa, ¿Qué es lo que realmente le llena a usted más en la vida?

Mi familia.

Por último, ¿Por qué recomendaría a alguien que se iniciase en el mundo el golf?

Porque es un mundo nuevo de retos y autoexigencia realmente únicos, porque es un deporte que puede acompañarnos hasta bien entrados en años, y porque el golf te “devuelve” mucho más de lo que tú le das, en forma de salud –física y mental–, optimismo, amistad y relación con nuestro entorno.

hen Meliá Hotels International opened its first hotel in 1956, t her e wer e no g ol f courses on Mallorca. What did people think of this sport?

There had been some precursors before the war, like Jaime Enseñat’s 9-hole course in the Port of Alcudia. But nothing remained of that visionary adventure by the 1950s. I believe that in the ‘50s and ‘60s we were more concerned with increasing the volume of summer visitors who aspired to come to Mallorca than with rounding off our sun and beach offer with a complementary range of sports, which may have been deemed “elitist” in those days.

Fifty-seven years later the island has over twenty first-class courses. Is golf a pillar of quality tourism in Mallorca?

Undoubtedly it is: today things have taken a radical turn, and what we must do to maintain our leadership and our lifestyle, which is sustained to a large extent by tourism, is differentiate ourselves, segment the range of services we offer in such a way that every profile and segment of the demand can find what it wants on Mallorca.

Moreover, our geographical and geopolitical location, our climate and landscape lend the courses of Mallorca a beauty and variety that generally exceeds the expectations of international players, and even better, creates loyalty in them.

How did you become an enthusiast of this sport, and how long have you been practising it?

Well, I couldn’t resist “succumbing to the temptation” of practising it about 30 years ago, and I have been enjoying it since then, albeit sporadically due to the trips I take and my business and family schedule. Living at Son Vida and close to a course like this one, it’s only natural, and it still attracts me 30 years on.

What parallels are there between playing a round of golf and running a large company?

It may seem frivolous to compare them,

because golf is a relaxing, enjoyable activity, whereas you cannot play around when you control a large company – you have to gauge everything much more, because your decisions involve your whole environment and many people depend on you.

This does not mean that big business deals cannot be moved along, or created, whilst one plays golf, because the surroundings are favourable for serene talking, for generating trust, and I can assure you that we have forged many deals or alliances on a golf course….

You habitually play at Son Vida. How would you define the course and what would you highlight about it?

It’s an old course, with tall trees and shady fairways which allow you to play in spite of the sun in summer, and in winter they protect you from the wind.

Also, you can feel that you are playing in the mountains with views of the sea, and something that I think is essential is that you can play on foot without having to use a buggy, because the distances are not as huge as on other – also excellent – courses on Mallorca. It’s beautiful.

When you look back and see all that you have achieved over these nearly six decades, what do you feel?

I have to say that I feel very proud indeed, especially of my family and my long-standing employees, who have turned this company, which we created so long ago, into their “home” and “family”. However, when you do look back there are always things you would do differently. For example, I am happy to have boosted the internationalisation of the company, but I would have liked to have gone faster, because that way by now we would have an even larger foreign turnover which would help us weather the crisis in Spain better.

Beyond the company, what is it that really fills up your life the most?

My family.

As an entrepreneur, what is the most difficult “hole” you have had to contend with over your long career?

Over 57 years, as you can imagine it’s difficult to single out just one “hole”: I would say we have been through difficult times, sometimes as a result of taking on certain risks, and other times simply due to the external circumstances and the environment, but we have managed to recover from all of them and continue as a flagship of the industry.

Finally, why would you recommend to anyone that they become initiated in the world of golf?

Because it’s a new world full of truly unique challenges and in which you demand a lot of yourself; because it’s a sport that can accompany us until we are mature, and because golf “gives back” much more to you than you give to it, in the form of health (both physical and mental), optimism, friendship and our relationship with our environment.

Vor dem Krieg gab es die ersten Ansätze, wie den 9 Loch Platz von Jaime Enseñat im Hafen von Alcudia. In den 50-er Jahren war nichts mehr von diesem visionären Abenteuer übrig. In den 50-ern und 60-ern hatten wir durch den Tourismus-Boom auf Mallorca alle Hände voll zu tun und kümmerten uns nicht darum, das Angebot von Sonne und Strand mit einer zusätzlichen Sportofferte zu ergänzen, die damals eher als „elitär“ galt.

Heute, 57 Jahre danach, gibt es auf Mallorca mehr als 20 erstklassige Golfplätze. Ist Golf ein Standbein des Qualitätstourismus?

Das ist ganz ohne Zweifel so. Die Dinge haben sich geändert. Wenn wir unsere Führungsrolle und unseren Lebensstandard bewahren wollen, die beide zum großen Teil auf dem Tourismus basieren, dann müssen wir uns von anderen Des-

tinations unterscheiden, unsere Angebotspalette staffeln. Jedes Profil und jedes Segment müssen dabei entsprechend der Nachfrage bedient werden.

Die geographische und geopolitische Lage Mallorcas, die vielfältige Landschaft verleiht den Golfplätzen der Insel eine faszinierende Schönheit und Vielfalt, die die Erwartungen der Spieler aus aller Welt übertrifft, so dass sie bestenfalls wiederkommen.

Wann haben Sie das Golfen für sich entdeckt und wie lange spielen Sie schon?

Vor gut 30 Jahren konnte ich der „Versuchung“ nicht widerstehen und seitdem spiele ich leidenschaftlich gern Golf. Leider nur sporadisch, meine Reisen, mein voller Terminkalender und meine familiären Verpflichtungen lassen dafür wenig Zeit. Ich lebe auf Son Vida, in der Nähe des Golfplatzes, da ist es ganz natürlich, hier zu spielen.

Der Golfplatz ist für mich auch nach 30 Jahren noch attraktiv.

Welche Parallelen gibt es zwischen Golfspiel und der Leitung eines Unternehmens?

Der Vergleich ist ein bisschen frivol. Golf ist erholsam, amüsant, während man die Leitung eines Unternehmens nicht spielerisch bewältigt. Man muss sorgfältig überlegen und abwägen, die Entscheidungen betreffen Ihr gesamtes Umfeld, viele Menschen sind davon abhängig.

Das ist jedoch kein Hindernis, beim Golfspiel Geschäfte abzuschließen oder voranzubringen. Das Umfeld ist einfach ideal, um in Ruhe miteinander zu sprechen und Vertrauen zu schaffen. Auf dem Golfplatz haben wir zahlreiche Vereinbarungen getroffen und

Partnerschaften geschlossen.

Sie spielen gewöhnlich auf Son Vida.

Wie würden Sie den Platz beschreiben, welche besonderen Merkmale zeichnen den Court aus?

Son Vida ist ein gereifter Platz, mit mächtigen Bäumen und schattigen Spielbahnen, die Schutz vor Sonne und Wind bieten. Man kann immer hier auf dem Hügel spielen und den Blick aufs Meer genießen. Für mich ist ein entscheidender Faktor, dass man von Spielbahn zu Spielbahn laufen kann, ohne einen Buggy benutzen zu müssen. Die Distanzen sind nicht so groß, wie auf anderen, ebenfalls ausgezeichneten, Golfplätzen. Son Vida ist ein Juwel.

Was empfinden Sie beim Rückblick auf das, was Sie in knapp sechs Jahrzehnten erreicht haben?

Ich bin sehr stolz, vor allem auf meine Familie, auf meine Angestellten, die aus unserem Unternehmen ihr „Zuhause“, eine „Familie“ gemacht haben. Natürlich würde man manches im Rückblick anders machen. Ich bin froh, die globale Ausrichtung unseres Unternehmens vorangetrieben zu haben, aber wir hätten dabei schneller sein müssen. Dann hätten wir jetzt ein größeres internationales Angebotsvolumen und könnten die Krise in Spanien besser meistern.

Was füllt Sie außerhalb Ihres Unternehmens aus?

Meine Familie.

Welches war das schwierigste Hole, das Sie in Ihrer Laufbahn als Unternehmer in Angriff nehmen mussten?

Das ist bei 57 Jahren als Unternehmer schwer zu sagen. Ich kann das schlecht an einem Hole festmachen. Wir haben schwierige Zeiten durchlebt, manchmal, weil wir bestimmte Risiken eingehen mussten, manchmal einfach durch die äußeren Umstände. Aber wir haben solche Situationen überstanden und gehören noch immer zu den Marktführern.

Letzte Frage: Warum würden Sie Neulingen das Golfspiel empfehlen?

Der Golfsport eröffnet eine neue Welt mit großartigen Herausforderungen, auch, was die Ansprüche an uns selbst betrifft.

Golf kann man bis ins hohe Alter spielen.

Und: der Sport gibt einem mehr “zurück”, als er einem abverlangt, in puncto physischer und psychischer Gesundheit, Optimismus, Freundschaft und der Beziehung zu unserer Umwelt.

ntes de iniciar la clase, pase por el campo de prácticas, haga su calentamiento y lance algunas bolas: esté preparado para cuando se encuentre con su profesor. La clase sirve para aprender y corregir, no para practicar.

Al presentarnos por primera vez ante nuestro profesor, comentaremos cuánto tiempo llevamos practicando o jugando, si tenemos handicap, si tenemos alguna limitación física, dolor, operación, etc., cuáles son nuestros objetivos en referencia a la práctica del golf (si es por jugar con la familia, por relaciones laborales, para llegar a participar en torneos, etc).

Fijaremos con el profesor un objetivo a corto plazo (es decir, para la clase del momento) y un objetivo a largo plazo (para el total de la temporada o el conjunto de clases previstas). También plantearemos un objetivo que dependa directamente de nosotros, algo sencillo, controlable y a nuestro nivel, desafiante pero plausible para nuestras posibilidades, con buena motivación, controlable y dependiente única y exclusivamente de nosotros: por ejemplo, “antes de dar un golpe, calcularé la distancia hasta la bandera”, o “antes de dar un golpe, comprobaré la dirección y la fuerza del viento”. Piense y entienda lo que deba o quiera corregir. Medite sus dudas y

recuerde sus errores; acostúmbrese a llevar una libreta de notas al uso y anote cualquier idea o concepto que surja. Sugiera a su profesor trabajarlos en la clase.

Comente sus dudas con claridad y confianza a su profesor. Las enseñanzas de su profesor deberán ser también claras y comprensibles. Si la duda persiste, pregunte de nuevo. El vocabulario del profesor es especializado; si no ha entendido algún concepto, pregunte el significado e intente incluir el término aprendido en su vocabulario habitual.

DIAGNÓSTICO, EXPLICACIÓN, CORRECCIÓN. Es fundamental que

concrete el diagnóstico, la explicación y la corrección de sus golpes con su profesor.

El diagnóstico es “lo que ocurre”: el contacto con la bola, cómo vuela...

La explicación es el “porqué” de ese diagnóstico, el porqué nuestra bola vuela de una manera determinada.

La corrección es la solución que nos da nuestro profesor para resolver esos errores, bien con una explicación directa o mediante un ejercicio práctico.

Cualquier cambio en la realización de su swing afecta directamente al impacto y al vuelo de la bola: debe entender porqué.

No deje preguntas en el aire: consulte y asimile la corrección. Practíquela cuando esté solo y optimice su juego.

La finalidad de la clase es aprender al máximo, con pleno rendimiento. Concéntrese en la finalidad de la clase, absorba los conceptos y compréndalos. Evite las interferencias externas (otros jugadores, sonidos, etc). La concentración y la comunicación con su profesor son básicas para el éxito de la clase.

Antes de concluir la misma, defina con palabras sencillas y claras los conceptos aprendidos con su profesor: esta rutina le ayudará a asimilar y comprender lo aprendido y a valorar la nueva información.

Resuma las explicaciones en dos frases concisas: las frases breves y los conceptos resumidos son más fáciles de recordar.

Con los conceptos claros, relájese y realice otro turno de estiramientos al concluir. Practique y salga al campo. Anote los errores y dudas y plantéelos en la siguiente clase.

efore the lesson starts, stroll around the practice course, warm up and take a few swings: be prepared for when you meet your instructor. The lesson is for learning and correcting, not practising.

When you meet your instructor for the first time, tell him how long you have been practising or playing, whether you have a handicap or some kind of physical limitation, such as pain or an operation, etc., and say what your goals are in terms of practising golf (if you want to play with your family, for work relationships or your aim is to eventually take part in tournaments, etc.).

Establish a short-term objective (that is, for the current lesson) and a long-term objective (for the whole season or set of lessons booked) with your instructor. You should also set out a goal that depends directly on you – something simple, controllable and on your level, challenging but plausible within your possibilities, with good motivation; something manageable and which depends solely and exclusively on you, such as, “before taking a stroke I will calculate the distance to the flag””, or “before taking a stroke I will check the force and direction of the wind”. Think about and understand what you should or want to correct. Meditate on your doubts and remember your mistakes; get used to taking a notebook out with you and jot down any ideas or concepts that come up. Suggest to your instructor that you work on them during the lesson.

Talk to your instructor clearly and confidently about your doubts. Everything your instructor teaches you should also be clear and understandable. If the doubt lingers on, ask again. The instructor uses specialist vocabulary – if there is a concept that you haven’t understood, ask what it means and try to include the new term into your everyday vocabulary.

DIAGNOSIS, EXPLANATION, CORRECTION. It is essential to specify the diagnosis, explanation and correction of your strokes with your instructor.

The diagnosis is “what is happening” – the contact with the ball, how it flies...

The explanation is the “why” of that diagnosis, i.e. why the ball flies in a certain way.

The correction is the solution the instructor gives you to correct those mistakes, either with a direct explanation or through a practical exercise.

Any change in the way you take your swing will directly affect

“Talk to your instructor clearly and confidently about your doubts ” the impact and flight of the ball. You need to understand why. Don’t leave questions floating in the air: consult, and assimilate the correction. Practise when you are on your own and optimise your game.

The aim of the lesson is to learn the maximum, at full capacity.

Concentrate on the aim of the lesson, absorb the concepts and understand them. Avoid external interferences (other players, sounds, etc.). Concentration and communication with your instructor are basic for the success of the class.

Before the end of the lesson, define the concepts learned with your instructor using clear, simple words: this routine will help you to assimilate and understand what you have learned and value the new information. Sum up the explanations in two concise sentences: short sentences and summarised concepts are easier to remember.

When the concepts are clear, relax and do some more stretching at the end of the lesson. Practise and go out on the course. Make a note of any mistakes and doubts and bring them up in the next lesson.

amos a crear la estrategia para jugar uno de los hoyos más difíciles de Golf Son Vida, el llamado “San Francisco”, el hoyo 6, par 5, de 450 metros. Es un hoyo con una calle muy estrecha y con fuera de límites a ambos lados, así que imagine lo importante que es tener una buena estrategia.

Este es un sistema que utilizo a menudo como entrenador de los equipos nacionales de golf y que los jugadores agradecen bajo presión, puesto que te da una imagen clara y, a su vez, mejor fijación de objetivo, concentración y rutina que te aparta de las dudas.

En este tipo de estrategia nunca, nunca se anota el palo a golpear sino que se marca la zona donde queremos que nuestra bola aterrice. El palo puede variar dependiendo de las condiciones climatológicas del momento a jugar.

La estrategia que un jugador debe seguir va directamente ligada a la distancia que puede alcanzar. Por tanto, es imposible tener cualquier tipo de plan si no sabe qué distancia produce con sus palos y no mide las distancias entre zonas.

Voy a mostrarles varias opciones para que vean cómo funcionaría dicha estrategia por zonas. Recuerden que las señoras deberán restar su distancia desde el

tee, y que muchos, al leer estas distancias, pensarán que estas estrategias no están hechas para usted. Fabriquen su propia estrategia por zonas.

Estrategias de 3 zonas: a) Desde el tee jugaremos a la zona 1,

de dicha zona 1 a la zona 3 y de ésta a la zona 5, por lo tanto tendremos tiros de 170, 160 y 120 metros aproximadamente. b) Desde el tee jugaremos a la zona 2, de dicha zona 2 a la zona 4 y de esta a la zona 5, por lo tanto nos quedan tres tiros de 220, 170 y 60 metros aproximadamente.

Estrategia de 2 zonas:

Desde el tee jugaremos a la zona 2 y de ésta directamente a la zona 5, por tanto un primer tiro de 220 para después otro de 230 metros aproximadamente.

ir werden hier eine Methode zeigen, wie man eines der schwierigsten Löcher auf dem Golfplatz Son Vida bezwingt – Loch 6 Par 5 von 450 Metern, das sogenannte “San Francisco”.

Das Loch hat eine sehr enge Spielbahn, mit out-of-bounds an beiden Seiten. Sie sehen also, wie wichtig hier eine gute Strategie ist.

Die Spielmethode benutze ich oft, wenn ich Nationalmannschaften trainiere. Die Spieler schätzen sie, wenn sie unter Druck spielen, da diese Methode eine klare Vorstellung vermittelt sowie gleichzeitig bessere Zielfixierung, Konzentration und Routine ermöglicht und etwaige Zweifel ausräumt.

Bei dieser Strategie wird das Eisen niemals, wirklich niemals, vorher ausgewählt, sondern erst, nachdem der vorige Schlag ausgeführt wurde; man markiert den Bereich, wo der Ball landen soll. Die Wahl des Schlägers variiert je nach den herrschenden Wetterbedingungen im Moment des Spiels.

e are about to create a strategy for playing one of the most difficult holes at Golf Son Vida, the so-called “San Francisco”, hole number 6, par 5, 450 metres. This hole has a very narrow fairway and out of bounds areas on both sides, so you can imagine how important it is to have a good strategic approach.

This is a system I often use as coach of national golf teams, and one players are grateful for when under pressure, as it gives you a clear image and at the same time improves target-setting, concentration and routine, pushing aside doubts.

For this kind of strategy you never, ever make a note in advance of the club to be used, but set your sights on the area you want the ball to land in. The club you use may vary depending on the climatic conditions at the time of play.

The strategy any given player must follow is directly linked to the distance that player can drive the ball. Therefore it is impossible to have any kind of plan if you do not know what distance you can achieve with your clubs, and do not measure the distance between areas.

I shall now show you several options so that you can see how this strategy would work by zones. Remember that ladies will have to reduce their distance from the tee, and that when you read these

Methode drei Abschnitte: a) Vom Tee wird zunächst Abschnitt

1 angespielt. Von hier spielt man zum Abschnitt 3 und von dort zum Abschnitt 5. Man muss demnach Distanzen von rund 170, 160 und 120 Metern schlagen. b) Vom Tee spielt man Abschnitt 2 an. Von hier spielt man zum Abschnitt 4 und von dort zum Abschnitt 5. Das sind drei Schläge von rund 220, 170 und 60 Metern.

Methode zwei Abschnitte:

n su apuesta por fomentar el golf entre los más pequeños, Arabella Golf Mallorca cuida de manera muy especial su Arabella Golf Junior Academy y la Escuela de Golf Adaptado, con los profesores Nico Loprete y Mario Rapado a la cabeza, respectivamente.

En cuanto a la Arabella Golf Junior Academy, se trata de la escuela de golf junior mas grande de la historia de Baleares, con 150 niños aproximadamente, repartidos en grupos de 10 (dos grupos entre semana, miércoles y viernes, y el resto los fines de semana, sábados y domingos). El equipo está formado por cinco profesionales de golf, un preparador físico con master en alto rendimiento, un psicólogo del deporte y un fisioterapeuta especializado.

El método de enseñanza aplicado es la Naturalidad Guiada, que hace el aprendi-

zaje mucho mas fácil y compresible para los alumnos.

También se llevan a cabo una serie de ejercicios y juegos para que los chicos adquieran las habilidades necesarias para jugar al golf de forma amena.

Respecto a la Escuela de Golf Adaptado, se trata de una iniciativa única en Mallorca. En la actualidad cuenta con 20 alumnos y su profesor, Mario Rapado, posee gran experiencia enseñando el juego del golf a personas con discapacidades psíquicas.

El método de enseñanza es el mismo que para otras personas, adaptado a las características físicas y psíquicas de cada alumno. El hecho de practicar una actividad al aire libre, en la que además no precisan de terceras personas para desarrollarla, contribuye a elevar su autoestima. Además jugar al golf es para estos alumnos un complemento ideal para las clases de educación especial que reciben en sus respectivos centros.

s part of its commitment to promoting golf amongst youngsters, Arabella Golf Mallorca takes particular care over its Arabella Golf Junior Academy and the Adapted Golf School, with instructors Nico Loprete and Mario Rapado as their respective heads.

The Arabella Golf Junior Academy is the largest junior golf school in the history of the Balearics, with approximately 150 children, divided up into groups of 10 (two groups during the week, on Wednesdays and Fridays, and the rest at the weekend, on Saturdays and Sundays). The team is comprised of five golf professionals, a fitness coach with a master’s degree in high performance sport, a sports psychologist and a physiotherapy specialist.

The teaching method used is Natural Guidance, which makes learning much easier and more comprehensible for pupils.

There is also a series of exercises and games designed to help the children acquire the necessary skills for playing golf in a pleasant manner.

fee. Moreover, the children enrolled at the Arabella Golf Junior Academy can enjoy the practice course whenever they like, and also the executive course (pitch and putt).

With regard to the Adapted Golf School, this is a unique initiative in Mallorca. It currently has 20 pupils and the instructor, Mario Rapado, has a wealth of experience teaching the game of golf to the mentally disabled.

The teaching method is the same as for other people, but adapted to the physical and mental characteristics of each pupil.

Engaging in an activity in the open air, and one for which, moreover, they do not need third persons, helps raise their self-esteem. And for these pupils, playing golf is the ideal complement to the special education classes they receive in their respective centres.

Jeden Monat findet ein Turnier statt, an dem auch andere Kinder (nach vorheriger kostenpflichtiger Anmeldung) teilnehmen können.

Außerdem können die Schüler der Arabella Golf Junior Academy jederzeit den Übungsplatz sowie den Executive Course (Pitch & Putt Kurzplatz) nutzen.

Die Golfschule für behinderte Jugendliche ist ein einzigartiges Projekt auf Mallorca. Derzeit erlernen 20 Schüler bei Mario Rapado die richtige Golftechnik. Der erfahrene Pro unterrichtet seit vielen Jahren geistig behinderte Jugendliche.

Die Trainingsmethode ist gleich, wird jedoch individuell an die geistige und körperliche Verfassung der Schüler angepasst. Für die sportliche Betätigung im Freien benötigen die Jugendlichen nicht die Hilfe anderer Personen, ein Umstand, der ihr Selbstbewusstsein fördert. Außerdem ist das Golfen die ideale Ergänzung zum normalen Schulunterricht.

l pasado mes de diciembre se llevó a cabo en los campos de Son Muntaner, Son Vida y Son Quint la primera fase de las auditorías para la certificación y verificación del sistema de gestión ambiental, implantado de acuerdo con los requisitos de la Norma Internacional UNE-EN-ISO 14001:2004 y el Reglamento CE 1221/2009 del Parlamento Europeo y del Consejo, EMAS. Ambos referenciales están basados en el principio de “mejora continua”, que persigue como filosofía de actuación aumentar paulatinamente las exigencias de compromiso ambiental de las organizaciones. Son sistemas complementarios ya que los requisitos del Reglamento EMAS incluyen todos los establecidos en la norma ISO 14001 y algunos aspectos adicionales. La diferencia más representativa radica en la obligatoriedad de elaborar una declaración ambiental y facilitar su disposición pública.

Tras esta primera fase, durante el mes de enero los auditores han evaluado la implementación del sistema de gestión, su efectividad en cada uno de los campos e instalaciones, y han validado la declaración ambiental de Son Muntaner para su posterior inscripción en el registro de la Comisión Europea.

Una vez que todos los criterios de certificación se hayan cumplido, recibiremos el certificado correspondiente que acreditará que nuestros campos de golf se gestionan de conformidad con la norma ISO 14001 y el Reglamento EMAS.

n December the first phase of the audits for certification and verification of the environmental management system in the Son Muntaner, Son Vida and Son Quint courses was carried out. The system was introduced in accordance with the requisites of the international UNE-EN-ISO 14001:2004 standard and regulation EC 1221/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council, EMAS. Both standards are based on the principle of “continuous improvement” which pursues, as its philosophy for action, the gradual increase in the requisites for environmental commitment of organisations.

The systems complement one another as the requisites of the EMAS regulation include all those established in the ISO 14001 standard as well as some additional aspects. The most representative difference lies in the obligation to draw up an environmental declaration and making it publicly available.

After this first phase, during the month of January, the auditors assessed the implementation of the management system, its effectiveness in each of the courses and installations, and validated the environmental declaration of Son Muntaner so that it can later be inscribed in the register of the European Commission.

Once all of the certification criteria have been met, we will receive the corresponding certificate accrediting that our golf courses are managed in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard and the EMAS regulation.

m vergangenen Dezember wurde auf den Golfplätzen Son Muntaner, Son Vida und Son Quint die erste Phase der Umweltbetriebsprüfung zur Verifizierung des Umweltmanagements durchgeführt. Rechtsgrundlage sind hierbei die internationale Umweltmanagementnorm UNE-EN-ISO 14001/2004 sowie die Verordnung CE 1221/2009 der Europäischen Union zum Umweltmanagementsystem EcoManagement and Audit Scheme (EMAS).

Beide Normen sind ein leistungsorientiertes Instrument für Unternehmen und Organisationen, dessen Philosophie auf einer kontinuierlichen Verbesserung des Umweltmanagements über die gesetzlichen Anforderungen hinaus beruht. Das System EMAS erfüllt die Normen der ISO 14001, geht jedoch weit darüber hinaus. Einer der wesentlichen Unterschiede zwischen beiden Managementsystemen besteht darin, dass das Unternehmen beim EMAS verpflichtet ist, eine öffentliche Unwelterklärung zu erstellen.

Nach Abschluss der ersten Phase haben die Gutachter im Januar das Managementsystem und dessen effektive Umsetzung auf allen drei Golfplätzen geprüft und die Umwelterklärung des Courts Son Muntaner bewertet. Nach der abgeschlossenen positiven Prüfung werden die EMAS-Standorte in das öffentliche Register der Europäischen Kommission eingetragen.

Bei einem positiven Prüfungsergebnis und Erfüllung aller Anforderungen erhält unser Unternehmen das EMAS-Zertifikat, das bestätigt, dass das Umweltmanagement unserer Golfplätze der Norm ISO 14001 und der EMAS-Verordnung entspricht.

ustaquio Lorite (Jaén, 1957) es toda una institución en Arabella Golf Mallorca. Su humanidad, profesionalidad y simpatía hacen del oficio de Caddy Master todo un arte.

Primero de todo, ¿Cómo un muchacho de Jaén llega a introducirse en el mundo del golf en la Mallorca de los años sesenta, donde sólo existía el campo de Son Vida?

Con diez años, mi hermano y yo trabajábamos en la recogida de la almendra en una finca cercana a Son Vida. Un día vimos a otros niños cargando con palos de golf, y eso nos llamó mucho la atención. Luego supimos que esos niños se ganaban unos dinerillos haciendo de

caddies en el campo de Son Vida. Así que un día fuimos al campo, a pedir trabajo para ayudar económicamente en casa. ¿Y cómo fue? Éramos en total unos 40 o 50 niños, de aquí, de Son Rapinya. Entonces todos los jugadores llevaban un caddy. Al final del recorrido te daban un dinero y te ibas feliz a casa. Yo quedé enganchado al golf enseguida, me encantaba coger un palo y practicar los movimientos que veía en los jugadores. Como caddy era cada vez más requerido por los socios de Son Vida, que apreciaban que les aconsejara qué palo usar en cada ocasión. Entonces todavía estudiaba en el colegio… … Hasta que le ofrecieron trabajar a tiempo completo.

Sí, el director del campo de Son Vida de entonces, Don Federico González de Aguilar, me ofreció un trabajo fijo.

Cuando se lo conté a mi padre me dijo que aquello del golf no tenía futuro, que mejor me hiciera mecánico, o tornero… ¡Y miré hoy en lo que se ha convertido el fenómeno del golf en Mallorca y en el mundo entero!... De todo aquello hace ya más de 40 años, y aquí seguimos. ¿Qué atributos debe tener un buen caddy master?

Sobre todo debe empatizar con la gente, saber cómo tratar con todo tipo de personas, y a todos dar una buena atención por igual, sin ser pesados. Aquí viene a jugar gente muy conocida a nivel global, pero nosotros nunca les preguntamos por

“Un buen Caddy Master debe empatizar con todo tipo de personas” su vida privada, ni les hacemos alabanzas ni nada por el estilo. Somos sus confesores, los que les despedimos antes de salir a jugar y los que les recibimos cuando han terminado. Y ahí es cuando se sueltan, nos hablan del campo, de su juego, y de lo que ellos quieran. ¿Qué es lo que más le satisface de su trabajo?

Atender bien al cliente, darle todo lo que necesita. Eso me hace feliz.

Por cierto, ¿qué handicap tiene usted?

Ninguno, tengo tarjeta de profesional.

De hecho, con 17 años viajé para participar en algunos torneos fuera de la isla, imagínese lo que era aquello entonces.

Pero pronto me di cuenta de que no iba a ganarme la vida como jugador. Aprendí de manera totalmente autodidacta, nadie me enseñó, entre los amigos nos íbamos diciendo “pon el palo así”, o “pega a la bola acá”… Ya ve, sin duda eran otros tiempos.

First of all, how does a lad from Jaén make his way into the world of golf in the Mallorca of the ‘sixties, when there was only the Son Vida course?

When I was ten my brother and I worked gathering almonds on an estate near Son Vida. One day we saw some other children carrying golf clubs, and this caught our attention. Later we found out that these children earned themselves a few bob by caddying on the Son Vida course.

So one day we went there to ask for work, to help bring some extra money home.

And what was it like?

There were about 40 or 50 children in all, from here, Son Rapinya. Back then all the players had a caddie. At the end of the course they would give you some money and you’d go home feeling happy. I got hooked on golf straight away, I loved to pick up a club and practise the movements I saw the players make. As a caddy I became increasingly popular with the members of Son Vida, who appreciated my advising them which club to use on each occasion. I was still at school back then… … Until they offered you a fulltime job.

the time, Federico González de Aguilar, offered me a permanent job. When I told my father he said that there was no future in golf, that I would be better off becoming a mechanic, or a wood turner… And just look at what a phenomenon golf has become in Mallorca and the whole world today!... All that was over 40 years ago, and we’re still here.

What qualities should a good caddy master have?

Above all empathy for people, knowing how to deal with all kinds of people, and give all of them an equally good service without being tiresome. Some very famous people come here, but we never ask them about their private life or praise them or anything like that. We are their confessors, the people they say goodbye to before going out to play and the ones who receive them when they have finished. And that’s when they loosen up; they talk to us about the course, their round, whatever they want.

What do you find most gratifying about the work?

Serving customers well, giving them everything they need. That makes me happy.

Actually, at the age of 17 I travelled to take part in some tournaments outside of the island - just imagine what it was like then! But I soon realised that I wasn’t going to earn a living as a player. I was totally self-taught, nobody showed me how to play, my friends and I used to say to each other, “Hold the club like this”, or “Hit the ball down here”… As you can see, those were completely different times.

Zunächst die Frage: Wie kommt ein Junge aus Jaén in den sechziger Jahren zum Golf auf Mallora? Damals gab es doch nur den Golfplatz Son Vida?

Als ich zehn war, arbeiteten mein Bruder und ich bei der Mandelernte auf einer Finca in der Nähe von Son Vida. Wir sahen Kinder, die Golfschläger trugen und wurden neugierig. Später erfuhren wir, dass sich die Kinder ein bisschen Geld als Caddies

auf dem Golfplatz verdienten. Wir wollten auch dort arbeiten und ein bisschen Geld nach Hause bringen.

Wie war die Arbeit?

Wir waren 40 oder 50 Kinder, alle von hier, auf Son Rapinya. Damals hatte jeder Spieler einen Caddie; am Ende der Golfrunde gab es ein paar Peseten und man ging zufrieden heim. Ich war sofort vom Golfen begeistert; mit dem Schläger übte ich die Schläge, die ich den Spielern abgeguckt hatte. Als Caddie wurde ich unter den Mitgliedern des Clubs Son Vida immer beliebter; man schätzte, wie ich sie bei der Schlägerwahl beriet. Damals ging ich noch zur Schule… … Bis man Ihnen einen Vollzeitjob anbot.

Der damalige Direktor des Golfplatzes Son Vida, Don Federico González de Aguilar, bot mir eine feste Stelle an. Als ich das meinem Vater erzählte, meinte der, das mit dem Golf hätte eh keine Zukunft, ich solle lieber Mechaniker oder Dreher werden.

Und schauen Sie nur, wie der Golfsport Mallorca und die ganze Welt erobert hat!

Das alles ist mehr als 40 Jahre her und wir sind immer noch hier.

Welche Eigenschaften zeichnen einen guten Caddy Master aus?

Er muss vor allem mit Leuten umgehen können und allen einen gleichermaßen guten Service bieten, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Bei uns spielen international bekannte Golfspieler, aber wir fragen sie nie über ihr Privatleben aus und lobhudeln niemanden. Wir sind ihre Beichtväter, wir verabschieden sie, wenn sie zum Spiel gehen und wir empfangen sie am Ende der Partie. In diesen Momenten sind sie am lockersten und reden über den Platz, ihr Spiel und andere Dinge.

Was gefällt Ihnen am meisten an Ihrer Arbeit?

Guter Kundenservice macht mich glücklich.

Dem Kunden alles geben, was er braucht. Übrigens, welches Handicap haben Sie? Gar keins, ich bin Profispieler. Mit 17 Jahren nahm ich an einigen Turnieren außerhalb Mallorcas teil, aber ich merkte schnell, dass ich mein Brot nicht als Golfspieler verdienen würde. Sie müssen sich die Situation damals vorstellen! Ich habe mir das Golfspiel selbst beigebracht, niemand hat mich angelernt. Man zeigte es sich unter Freunden, nach dem, Motto „Du musst den Schläger so halten, den Ball nach dort schlagen.“ Wie Sie sehen, waren das ganz andere Zeiten damals.

Arabella Hospitality España puso en marcha la iniciativa de crear una colección de arte a partir de las obras de 40 artistas nacidos en Mallorca, o que se encontraran estrechamente ligados a la isla. A cada uno de estos artistas se le encargó la producción de una decena cuadros de temática libre, formato vertical e idéntica medida. La iniciativa fue gestionada por el galerista Joan Oliver, de la Galeria d’Art “Maneu”, en Palma.

De esta manera, el hotel se convirtió en una auténtica galería abierta a sus huéspedes, con un total de 380 obras contemporáneas que cuelgan de las paredes de las habitaciones y espacios comunes del resort. Entre los artistas destacan nombres como Gust Graas, Rafa Forteza, Ricard Chiang o Santiago Picatoste, entre otros. De esta valiosa colección, fruto de la unión entre arte y turismo,

se creó una exposición itinerante titulada “Ses Obres”, inaugurada en Milán en 2002.

Tras la renovación del Club House Golf Son Muntaner, se ha trasladado una selección de esta última colección a su hall, para que pueda también ser disfrutada por los golfistas que visitan nuestras instalaciones.

Some of the more outstanding names are Gust Graas, Rafa Forteza, Ricard Chiang or Santiago Picatoste, among others. This valuable collection, the fruit of a union between art and tourism, was used as the basis for an itinerant exhibition entitled “Ses Obres” (literally ‘The works’, in the Mallorcan language), inaugurated in Milan in 2002.

After the renovation of the Golf Son Muntaner clubhouse, a selection from this latest collection has been transferred to its hall so that the works may also be enjoyed by the golfers who visit our installations.

Aus Anlass der Eröffnung des Hotels St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort im Jahre 2002 initiierte Arabella Hospitality Spanien eine Kunstsammlung. Die Werke stammten von 40 Künstlern, die entweder auf Mallorca geboren wurden oder der Insel eng verbunden sind. Jeder Künstler sollte bei freier Wahl des Themas bis zu zehn Bilder im Hochformat mit identischen Maßen kreieren. Das Projekt wurde von Joan Oliver von der Palmesaner Kunstgalerie “Maneu” betreut.

Das Hotel avancierte zu einer einzigartigen Pinakothek, die allen Hotelgästen offen stand – 380 zeitgenössische Werke bekannter Meister, u.a. Gust Graas, Rafael Forteza, Ricard Chiang oder Santiago Picatoste, wurden in den Zimmern und Gemeinschaftsräumen des St. Regis Mardavall ausgestellt. Aus der Kollektion, die Kunst und Tourismus miteinander verband, ging die Wanderausstellung „Ses obres“ (Die Werke) hervor, deren Vernissage 2002 in Mailand stattfand.

Eine Auswahl der letztgenannten Anthologie können Gäste und Golfspieler ab sofort im Vestibül des frisch renovierten Clubhauses auf dem Golfplatz Son Muntaner besichtigen.

Bacalao con tirabeques en dos texturas Cod with mangetouts in two textures Kabeljau an Zuckerschotencreme

INGREDIENTES: PARA CONFITAR EL LOMO DE BACALAO:

4 piezas de lomo de 200gr /unidad de bacalao fresco.

500ml de aceite de oliva extra virgen.

3 dientes de ajo morado.

2 hojas de laurel.

PARA REALIZAR LA CREMA DE TIRABEQUE:

500gr de tirabeque fresco. ½ cebolla blanca.

1 diente de ajo. ½ litro de caldo de verdura.

200gr de patata.

ELABORACIÓN: 1. Sofreiremos el ajo y la cebolla hasta que

alcance el ajo un color dorado. Posteriormente añadimos la patata y el tirabeque, dejando sofreír estos unos segundos más y añadimos el caldo de verduras. Cocemos 20 minutos, retiramos del fuego. Luego trituraremos el contenido, reservando la crema para su posterior utilización.

2. Calentamos los 500ml de aceite junto con los dientes de ajo y el laurel hasta llegar a 60 grados. Incorporamos los lomos de bacalao y dejamos confitar unos minutos (5-8min).

MONTAJE: 1. Calentamos la crema y añadimos un

cazo raso por plato, colocamos el bacalao escurrido encima, lo tapamos con su piel previamente deshidratada y le colocamos tirabeque en juliana por encima.

2. Rociaremos el plato con una infusión de pétalos de rosa y decoraremos con un par de ellos el contorno de este.

3. Servir en mesa y disfrutar...

500g frische Zuckerschoten (ein paar Schoten für die Garnitur zurücklegen) ½ weiße Zwiebel 1 Knoblauchzehe ½ Liter Gemüsefond 200g Kartoffeln.

l pasado 13 de julio el Gobierno de España aprobó el Real Decreto Ley 20/2012 que eleva los tipos impositivos general y reducido del IVA a partir del 1 de septiembre de 2012 para situarlos en el 21% (antes 18%) y 10% (antes 8%).

A pesar de las fuertes presiones efectuadas desde los distintos operadores económicos del sector turístico, aparte de dicha subida de tipos, determinados bienes y servicios que hasta ahora tributaban al 8% pasan a tributar al 21%.

Uno de los servicios afectados es el prestado a personas físicas que practiquen el deporte o la educación física. Por tanto, la subida del IVA afecta a todos los deportes (golf, tenis, padel, esquí, etc.).

Por lo que respecta especialmente al golf, muy practicado en España, y especialmente en Mallorca, el IVA ha subido del 8 al 21% (13 puntos) no sólo la venta de green fees, sino también los servicios complementarios relacionados con el ejercicio de este deporte, clases de instrucción, venta de material de golf, alquiler de taquillas en vestuarios, de carros o de buggies, etc.

Para intentar paliar el efecto negativo que esta subida del tipo del IVA tiene en el consumidor final, y más en el contexto económico actual, la mayoría de los campos de golf ha asumido una parte sustancial del aumento impositivo, lo que repercute negativamente en sus márgenes, a los efectos de no desplazar la totalidad de la subida impositiva en el cliente.

Además, se está trabajando intensamente, aunque ya era una práctica habitual, en la explotación de hoteles junto con campos de golf, comercializando paquetes conjuntos incluyendo alojamiento y green-fees, de tal manera de que el golf sea un servicio adicional al de alojamiento, a fin de poder mantener el tipo reducido del IVA, 10%, al servicio completo de hotel+golf, a pesar de que ésta sea una cuestión todavía no aclarada por la Hacienda española.

n 13th July of last year the Spanish government approved Royal Decree 20/2012 which raised the standard and reduced VAT taxation rates as from 1st September 2012, setting them at 21% for the standard rate (which was formerly 18%) and 10% for the reduced rate (formerly 8%).

In spite of the strong pressure exerted by the different economic operators in the tourism sector, in addition to this increase in rates certain goods and services which hitherto paid 8% VAT now pay 21%.

One of the services affected is that provided to individuals who engage in sport or physical education. As a result, the increase in VAT affects all sports (golf, tennis, paddle tennis, skiing, etc.).

With regard to golf in particular, a very popular sport in Spain, and particularly in Mallorca, the rate of VAT has risen from 8% to 21% (13 points) not only on the sale of green fees, but also for the complementary services related to the practice of this sport – golf lessons, sale of golf materials, rental of lockers in changing rooms, buggies or carts, etc.

In an attempt to mitigate the negative effect this increase in the VAT rate has on the end consumer of golf, and even more so given the current economic context, most course operators have taken on a substantial part of the tax increase themselves - with the consequent negative repercussions on their profit margins - so as to not pass the whole of the rise in taxes on to customers.

Moreover, providers are also working intensely on operating hotels with golf courses (although this was already a common practice), commercialising joint packages which include accommodation and green fees, so that golf counts as an additional service to accommodation, in order to maintain the reduced 10% rate of VAT for the full hotel+golf service, in spite of the fact that this issue has still not been clarified by the Spanish inland revenue service.

m 13. Juli des vergangenen Jahres verabschiedete die s panische R egie r ung die Gesetzesverordnung Nummer 20/2012 zur Erhöhung der Mehrwertsteuer. Ab 1. September stieg der Regelsteuersatz von 18 auf 21 Prozent sowie der ermäßigte Steuersatz von 8 auf 10 Prozent. Trotz des Drucks vieler im Tourismus tätiger Unternehmen werden bestimmte Güter und Dienstleistungen aufgrund der Neueinstufung nun mit 21 Prozent statt der bisherigen 8 Prozent besteuert.

Die Erhöhung der Mehrwertsteuer betrifft die gesamte Sportbranche (u.a. Golf, Tennis, Paddle, Ski), da die Dienstleistungen, die den Nutzern von den Unternehmen angeboten werden, nun dem Regelsteuersatz unterliegen.

Für den Golfsport, der in ganz Spanien und vor allem auf Mallorca betrieben wird, bedeutet das, dass der Mehrwertsteuersatz um 13 Punkte, von 8 auf 21 Prozent, angehoben wurde und zwar nicht nur bei den Spielgebühren, sondern auch bei zusätzlichen Dienstleistungen, wie Unterricht, Verkauf von Zubehör, Schließfächer-Vermietung in den Umkleideräumen sowie Verleih von Trolleys.

Zur Milderung der negativen Folgen der Mehr wertsteuererhöhung auf die Endkunden, besonders im Hinblick auf die aktuelle Wirtschaftslage, übernehmen zahlreiche Golfplatzbetreiber einen beachtlichen Teil des erhöhten Steuersatzes, auch wenn sich dies negativ auf ihre Gewinnspanne auswirkt, und geben den Anstieg der Kosten nicht in voller Höhe an ihre Kunden weiter.

Das schon lange praktizierte Konzept von Partnerschaften zwischen Hotels und Golfplätzen wird intensiviert. Die Hotelgäste können zusätzlich zur Übernachtung die Spielgebühren für den Golfplatz mitbuchen, als Paket Hotel + green fees, und vom ermäßigten Mehrwertsteuersatz von 10 Prozent profitieren, der auf das komplette Angebot Hotel+Golf erhoben wird. Bisher ist diese Praxis seitens des spanischen Finanzamtes noch nicht eindeutig abgeklärt worden.

Erkrankungen des Ellenbogens bei Golfspielern

L

as lesiones de codo que se producen con más frecuencia en el golf son la epicondilitis y la epitrocleitis. Dichas lesiones son unas de las más temidas por los practicantes de este deporte, sobretodo porque normalmente tienen una duración larga e incluso en algunas ocasiones se cronifican.

Sin embargo, según nuestra opinión, esta difícil resolución se debe, en la mayoría de los casos a un diagnóstico incompleto y, por lo tanto, a un mal enfoque del tratamiento. Generalmente se aplica un tratamiento antiálgico dirigido solamente a la zona dolorosa, pero, en la mayoría de los casos, estas lesiones no tienen un origen primario sino que son síntomas de problemas provenientes de otras articulaciones adyacentes, sobretodo de la muñeca y hombro, e incluso a veces la zona cervical o lumbar. Es por ello que en muchas ocasiones no responden al tratamiento protocolario tanto médico como fisioterápico.

EPICONDILITIS. Vulgarmente conocida como “codo del tenista”, es una inflamación de los tendones de los músculos que se insertan en el epicóndilo, que es la protuberancia ósea del húmero que se encuentra en la cara externa en el codo. Estos músculos son los que realizan la extensión de los dedos y de la muñeca y la supinación del antebrazo.

EPITROCLEITIS. Vulgarmente conocida como “codo del golfista”, es una inflamación de los tendones de los músculos que se insertan en la epitróclea, que es la protuberancia ósea del humero que se encuentra en la cara medial o interna del húmero en el codo.

Hoy en día esta terminología se está revisando ya que en los golfistas también aparecen epicondilitis con la misma frecuencia e incluso mayor que las epitrocleitis.

Los grados de estas lesiones pueden ir desde una leve inflamación de los tendones hasta los casos más graves en los que se encuentra una severa degeneración de los mismos o calcificaciones óseas en la zona de inserción (en estos casos suele ser necesario el tratamiento quirúrgico).

En algunos casos la aparición de estas lesiones puede ser debida a una mala técnica al realizar el swing, a una mala elección de los materiales de los palos de golf o a una mala planificación del entrenamiento, como, por ejemplo, realizar un número demasiado

he most frequent elbow injuries found in golf are lateral epicondylitis and medial epicondylitis. These injuries are the most feared by people who practise the sport, above all because they normally last a long time and can even become chronic in some cases.

However, in our opinion, this persistence is due, in most cases, to incomplete diagnosis leading to an incorrect treatment approach.

Generally speaking, antalgic treatment is applied, aimed at the painful area alone, but in the majority of cases these injuries are not of primary origin but are the symptoms of problems stemming from other, adjacent joints, above all the wrist and shoulder and even the cervical or lumbar area at times. Which is why often, they do

not respond to the standard treatments, both medical and physiotherapeutic.

LATERAL EPICONDYLITIS. Known by the layman’s term “tennis elbow”, lateral epicondylitis is an inflammation of the tendons in the muscles of the epicondyle, the bony projection on the humerus on the outside of the elbow. These are the muscles used when extending the fingers and the wrist and for supination of the forearm.

MEDIAL EPICONDYLITIS. Known by

the layman’s term “golfer’s elbow”, medial epicondylitis is an inflammation of the tendons in the muscles of the medial epicondyle of the humerus, the bony projection on the humerus at the medial part or inside of the elbow.

Nowadays this terminology is being revised, as golfers also present lateral epicondylitis with the same or even greater frequency than medial epicondylitis.

The degrees of these injuries may range from a slight inflammation of the tendons to more serious cases where the tendons are severely degenerated or bone calcification occurs in the insertion area (these cases normally require surgical treatment).

There are multiple causes, such as limitations of the mobility of the scapular girdle or the shoulder, spasms of the pectoralis minor, latissimus dorsi, biceps brachii muscles, of the levator scapulae located at the cervicaldorsal level or the quadratus lumborum, weakness of the flexor and extensor muscles of the wrist, etc.

Which is why, as well as the conventional treatment, ultrasound therapy, deep transverse massages, shockwave therapy or infiltrations, a thorough biomechanical and functional analysis of all of the aforementioned areas must be performed so as to accurately establish the root of the problem and thus achieve better efficacy in treatment.

In some cases these injuries may appear as the result of incorrect swing technique, poor choice of golf club materials or bad planning of training, such as repeating the same stroke too many times, or hitting the ball too hard without having warmed up enough. In these cases we advise that you consult a golf instructor as well as a doctor or physiotherapist, in order to correct these errors.

picondylitis und Epitrochleitis gehören zu den Erkrankungen, die beim Golfsport am häufigsten auftreten. Sie sind unter Golfspielern gefürchtet, denn ihre Heilung ist oft langwierig, in einigen Fällen wird die Erkrankung mit der Zeit sogar chronisch.

Nach unserem Dafürhalten ist die mühsame Genesung in den meisten Fällen einer unvollständigen Diagnose und einer dementsprechend unzureichenden Behandlung geschuldet. Im allgemeinen wird eine Schmerzbehandlung durchgeführt, die jedoch nur auf die schmerzende Stelle abzielt. Oft aber haben derlei Erkrankungen keine akute Ursache, sondern sind Symptome von Erkrankungen benachbarter Gelenke, vor allem des Handgelenks und der Schulter oder auch der Hals- und Lendenwirbel. Aus diesem Grund sprechen die Symptome häufig nicht wie gewünscht auf die üblichen medizinischen und physiotherapeutischen Behandlungsmethoden an.

HEALTH

EPICONDYLITIS. Die als “Tennis-

arm” bekannte Krankheit ist eine Sehnenansatzentzündung der Streckmuskulatur des Unterarms und der Hand, die in die Epikondylen (knöcherne Verdickungen am unteren Ende des Oberarmknochens) führen, die sich auf der Außenseite des Ellenbogens befinden.

EPITROCHLEITIS. Die als “Golferel-

lenbogen” bezeichnete Erkrankung wird durch die Entzündung der Sehnenansätze der Beugemuskulatur des Unterarms und der Hand verursacht, die mit den mittleren oder innenliegenden Epikondylen auf der Innenseite des Ellenbogens verbunden sind.

Heuzutage werden die beiden Krankheiten unter dem Begriff Epicondylitis geführt, da diese bei Golfspielern mittlerweile häufiger auftritt als Epitrochleitis.

Der Grad der Erkrankung reicht von einer leichten Sehnenentzündung bis zur krankhaften Veränderung der Sehnen oder zur Knochenverkalkung an den Ansätzen des Oberarmknochens. In den letztgenannten Fällen ist ein chirurgischer Eingriff notwendig.

Die Ursachen sind vielfältig und liegen u.a. an: eingeschränkter Bewegungsfähigkeit des Schulterblattes oder der Schulter; Kontraktionen des kleinen Brustmuskels, großen Rückenmuskels, Oberarmbizeps; der Winkelstellung des Schulterblatts im Bereich der Rückenwirbel; Erschlaffung der Streck- oder

Beugemuskulatur des Handgelenks.

Außer den üblichen Behandlungsmethoden mit Ultraschall, Massagen der Tiefenmuskulatur, Schockwellen oder Spritzen ist es daher ratsam, eine eingehende biomechanische und funktionale Analyse der genannten Bereiche durchzuführen, um den Ursprung der Krankheit exakt zu lokalisieren und effektive Behandlungsmethoden anzuwenden.

Der Golferellenbogen kann auch bei schlechter Swingtechnik, einer falschen Wahl des Schlägermaterials oder bei unausgewogenem Training auftreten, wenn derselbe Schlag zu oft wiederholt oder ohne vorherige Erwärmung mit zuviel Kraft ausgeführt wird.

Daher ist es empfehlenswert, gegebenenfalls nicht nur den Arzt oder Physiotherapeuten zu konsultieren, sondern auch den Golflehrer, damit fehlerhafte Spieltechniken korrigiert werden können.

A las 15.00 horas los 72 golfistas dieron comienzo al torneo mediante shotgun. Tras la partida, se ofreció un cóctel y se procedió a la entrega de trofeos a los ganadores, así como un posterior sorteo de regalos. Los primeros clasificados fueron Daniel Pérez en primera categoría masculina, y Paula Fuster en primera categoría femenina.

l 21 de septiembre se celebró en el campo de Son Muntaner un torneo de golf benéfico a favor de Unicef y la campaña “12 bajo Par”, una acción de responsabilidad social con doce asociaciones locales.

Un total de 60 jugadores se dieron cita en las instalaciones del campo de golf, para apoyar la iniciativa lanzada por los hoteles de Starwood en Mallorca y Arabella Golf Mallorca. El evento, organizado por Starwood Hotels & Resorts Mallorca y Arabella Golf Mallorca, recaudó más de 6.000 euros, que se repartirán entre las dos acciones solidarias. l pasado 22 de diciembre se celebró en Son Muntaner la final del torneo Match Play que se ha ido desarrollando a lo largo del segundo semestre del año. Un total de 32 jugadores comenzaron la fase clasificatoria de la competición en septiembre, agrupados en 16 parejas. Sólo el mejor de cada ronda pudo pasar de cada fase, hasta llegar a la final. El joven jugador de la Academia, Ataúlfo del Hoyo, de solo 17 años, se impuso en la final a Llorenç Terrassa.

l pasado mes de diciembre se presentó en el Golf Son Muntaner la campaña de responsabilidad social de los campos de Arabella Golf Mallorca “12 Bajo Par” para 2013. En ella se han invitado a participar a 12 asociaciones de ámbito local, cada una de las cuales será la protagonista de la campaña durante un mes del año que viene. Durante todo el 2013 se recaudarán fondos para esta acción, que luego se repartirán en partes iguales entre las 12 asociaciones.

Las organizaciones participantes en esta campaña serán: Fundación RANA (Red de ayuda a niños maltratados) AUBA Mallorca (Asociación de mujeres afectadas por el cáncer de mama) Daresvida / Club Service Dog (Adiestramiento de perros asistenciales) Fundación Handisport Mallorca (Inserción social de personas discapacitadas a través del deporte) Fundació Es Garrover (Inserción sociolaboral de personas con enfermedades mentales) Adamob (Asociación de ayuda al enfermo oncológico de Baleares) Projecte Home (Inserción socio-laboral de ex-drogodependientes) AFAM (Asociación de familiares de enfermos de Alzheimer) Prodis (Asociación pro-ayuda a personas discapacitadas) SOS Animal Mallorca (Asociación de ayuda a animales necesitados) Natzaret (Asociación para la mejora de la vida de niños con carencias en el entorno familiar y social) Amadiba (Atención de familias con hijos con discapacidad intelectual) Esperamos que nuestra pequeña colaboración pueda servir de ayuda a estos 12 colectivos.

m Dezember wurde auf dem Golfplatz Son Muntaner die Kampagne “12 bajo par” (12 unter Par) der Courts Arabella Golf Mallorca für 2013 präsentiert. An dem Sozialprogramm nehmen zwölf hiesige gemeinnützige Vereine teil, die sich im Rahmen der Kampagne für jeweils einen Monat vorstellen. Die Spenden, die im Laufe des Jahres bei „12 bajo par“ zusammen kommen, werden am Jahresende zu gleichen Teilen an die zwölf Vereine verteilt.

Die Vereine, die an der diesjährigen Kampagne mitwirken, sind: Fundación RANA (Stiftung zugunsten misshandelter Kinder) AUBA Mallorca (Verein an Brustkrebs erkrankter Frauen) Daresvida / Club Service Dog (Verein zur Abrichtung von Behindertenhunden) Fundación Handisport Mallorca (Stiftung zur sozialen Eingliederung behinderter Menschen durch Sport) Fundació Es Garrover (Stiftung zur Eingliederung geistig behinderter Menschen in das gesellschaftliche und Arbeitsleben) Adamob (Verein der Krebskranken der Balearen) Projecte Home (Verein zur Eingliederung ehemaliger Drogenabhängiger in das gesellschaftliche und Arbeitsleben) AFAM (Verein der Familienangehörigen von an Alzheimer erkrankten Menschen) Prodis (Verein behinderter Menschen) SOS Animal Mallorca (Tierschutzverein) Natzaret (Verein für sozial gefährdete Kinder) Amadiba (Verein der Familienangehörigen geistig behinderter Kinder).
