Hi Indiana District! It’s Gage Gonzalez, your Indiana District Bulletin Editor, welcoming you to the third edition of Key News for the 2024-2025 Key Club Service Year! I hope you are all having a great start of the school year and getting back into the swing of things. In this edition, you will find exec updates, how to pay dues, committee updates, and so much more!
It is that time of year again! It is time to pay your international and district Key Club dues.
Dues are vital to the function of Key Club both on the district and international level. Paying your dues also gives you access to all of the amazing things that Key Club has to offer such as the Youth Opportunities Fund and the Global Leadership Certificate! International dues are $10 and District dues are $10 bringing the total dues per member to $20. It is important to follow the following steps to make sure that your dues can be added correctly!
1.
Obtain member information such as their name and email
Log in on the Kiwanis Membership Center to update your officers and add new members for the year. NOTE: Only remove members that will not be returning the next year. If you remove all members, this can make them ineligible for some of the amazing scholarships that Key Club offers.
3. There are 2 dues deadlines this year. The Early Bird Dues are due November 1st; if you submit all dues by the early bird deadline, you will receive a patch for your Key Club banner. The regular dues deadline is December 1st! These deadlines are only 3 short months away!
2. Submit your total dues online, or print an invoice to pay via a check in the mail.

What is up Indiana District!
Governor Jason checking in again!! I truly cannot believe that we are past the halfway point of our 2024-2025 service year!!! I hope that everyone got a good back-to-school start and everyone has gotten back into the swing of things. Apart from being District Governor, I am of course a full-time student. This year I am a senior at Washington Township High School (in the Duneland Division). As a senior, I just feel so busy keeping up with classes, updating my CommonApp, and applying for scholarships. But I know I just have to push through and keep working hard!
Then I also started my final school soccer season. My team and I have had a rough start but I’m confident we will have a strong finish! Now moving to the other side of my life, which is of course Key Club!! As District Governor, I could not be more happy! I am so proud of how far my fellow Executive Board members and all my LtGs have come this service year! In August we all met up again and had our Board Meeting in Lafayette, Indiana. It was great meeting everyone again, going to the Kiwanis Convention, and getting some quality work done together that weekend! I am truly grateful to lead this group of leaders this service year. Now we still have less than 6 months of our terms left, so be ready for some more amazing things to be revealed this service year! Also, anticipate learning about my Governor’s Project in the next edition of Key News!!

Hi Indiana Key Club! My term has been going great, and it really feels like it’s going by so fast. I can’t believe we ’ re already about halfway through it. As your Secretary-Treasurer, I’ve been preparing the district budget, taking meeting minutes for district board meetings, and assisting Governor Jason with anything he needs from me! Outside of Key Club, I’ve been doing a lot of stuff pertaining to college, as well as trying to keep up with school, my job, and my other extracurriculars.
It seems like a busy schedule when I’m typing it all out, but I always have plenty of free time that I get to use to spend with my friends and family. I’m excited to see you all for Fall Rally, and I hope to get to be able to speak with you all and get to know you all better! If you any questions or concerns please don’t be afraid to reach out!

Hi again, everyone. I hope you are having a great start to school. Since I last updated you, I have started my senior year of high school, and I am ready to graduate! I have also been applying to colleges and enjoying the last months of high school before I move to college. I have been keeping busy with Key Club as always. I have been reviewing LtG newsletters, making this edition of Key News,
preparing for board meetings, and I have recently taken over as chair of the service committee which you will hear more about later! I have also been working on other initiatives that I am trying to start during my term. In my non-Key Club life, I have been applying to jobs and colleges, hanging out with friends, and spending time with my family. This year I have also started my CNA vocational so I have been testing out of skills and preparing to go to a nursing home for clinicals.
If you have any questions or need help with anything feel free to reach out!

Hello Indiana District! I hope balancing school, work, Key Club and other extra- curriculars is going great for all of you! I know it has been a challenge to manage my classwork along with my job and all of my extra-curriculars. Outside of Key Club, I have been swamped with homework and clubwork, as well as trying to manage my time well to work on my college applications. I also turned 18 in August!
This year I’m a leader of my school’s LGBTQIA+ club, your Indiana District Key Club Webmaster, an executive officer for the nonprofit- Confront The Climate Crisis, involved in Speech And Debate, Spanish Honors Society, DECA, and more!
As Key Club has started up, I have volunteered alongside PMHS Key Club as well as have attended their meetings, and have assisted them with any district- related questions they have had.
And, as your webmaster I attended our August Board Meeting to learn more about what our district has been up to, presented about Newsletters and social media tips, as well as recorded many TikToks. I have been updating the website accordingly with more information about District Events, our new partnership, as well as updating past information.
I have also been posting important information on the district social medias, including the district Instagram, and utilizing the district TikTok for less informative and more fun content! A large part of this quarter has been focused on brainstorming some new ideas for me to enact in my term!

Happy September, Indiana District! As we approach the fall season, the E&P Committee has been hard at work planning this year ’ s district events. While registration for Fall Rally 2024 has already closed, that does not mean that this is the end of promotions. There is officially T-minus 17 days until Fall Rally 2024! Make sure to prepare for October 12th, and the Indiana District is excited to see all of the attendees this year at Newfields Art Museum. Additionally, Key Leader registration has opened. This year, Key Leader will be at Camp Tecumseh on November 1st through 3rd. It will be a weekend of servant leadership, team building activities, and Key Club fun! Make sure to sign up at THIS link as registration will close on October 25th unless capacity is reached sooner. The E&P Committee is also excited to see everyone at Key Leader, so make sure to sign up!
The E&P Committee has loved planning both of these events, and we are excited as we approach our biggest district event: DLC 2025! DLC 2025 is my favorite district event, and if you have never been, I definitely encourage you to go. It will be here before we know it, so make sure to stay tuned for more information in the future. You can also read the sections on Fall Rally, Key Leader, and DLC in this edition of Key News 3 for more information. Hope to see you all soon, Indiana District!!!
Hey Indiana District! We will be doing something different this year due to some unforeseen circumstances, and I will be the
Events & Planning (E&P) committee chair for the remainder of the service year! My primary role will be to lead the committee in planning another wonderful District Leadership Convention (DLC) experience, especially with this DLC being the year of Key Club’s 100th Birthday! As some of you know, I was the E&P Committee Chair last year, so I plan to continue to use my experience from that position in leading the committee for the rest of this 2024-2025 service year! And yea, please save the date for DLC 2025 (February 29th - March 2nd, 2025), and be on the lookout for DLC information coming out in November! Then apart from seeing you all at DLC 2025, I can’t wait to see you all at Fall Rally and Key Leader this year!!!
Hey Indiana District! The MD committee has been hard at work this quarter in preparation for the school year starting. We have been working to make resources to make the transition into the new year as easy as possible! We have been providing resources in the Key resources google drive to make sure that everyone has what they need to have a successful year. This quarter, the MD committee has been working extremely hard to get the Club support scholarship up and running. This has been an extremely long and stressful process but we are happy to say that as of the 1st of September, the Club Support Scholarship for Indiana Key Club is up and running! This scholarship can help Key Clubbers around the state afford the new dues increase. It can cover half of your dues for the 2024-2025 service year! This form is for advisors to fill out only so if you have possible applicants, have your advisor reach out to your LTG for the form! Another thing we have been
working super hard on is the DART scholarship for Key Leader! This is another scholarship provided by the Indiana District of Key Club that came out on September 1st! This can cover $50 out of the $150 cost for Key leader. We have made a few changes to the scholarship to make it more accessible to everyone so I hope to see more of you putting in a submission this year! Finally, the MD committee has been hard at work chartering/reactivating new clubs! We already have at least 2 new clubs this year! We have been working with Kiwanis to make sure that we are being as efficient as possible. Overall, the MD committee has been working super hard to make sure that we are completing our main goal: Developing members. I believe that in quarter 2, we have far surpassed that goal! Although we have a ton of work to do, I am proud of what has been done by the MD committee!
Hey Indiana District! I cannot believe we are halfway through the service year! All members of the K-Fam Committee are eagerly in the process of completing our directives. One of our main focuses this quarter is to work with our new partner, ScholarReach, a non-profit organization based in New York, whose mission is to provide accessible school supplies to all students in need. As the K-Fam Committee, we are taking the initiative to keep in contact with the organization, to provide promotional materials, and to encourage participation in school supply drives from the Indiana District. We are all so excited to make this partnership
between ScholarReach and the Indiana District of Key Club a success! In addition, the K-Fam Committee along with the Events & Planning Committee are working hard to solidify the Spirit Week for all branches of the Kiwanis Family to participate in! Last but not least, we are continuing to develop our plan to celebrate the remarkable milestones some branches of the Kiwanis Family are reaching this service year. We are consistently prioritizing communication with the different representatives from the Kiwanis Family in order to make this successful!
Once again hi Indiana, I know you have already heard a lot from me but I have one final update to give you all. I am the new service chair for the remainder of the service year and I cannot wait to work with you all this year!
My goals for the remainder of this service year are to help my committee develop amazing service projects for the Indiana District to use, support my committee members in any way I can, and hopefully start some new incentives for us to better support all of our members.
Already this quarter the Service committee has been hard at work, we have been working with the Kiwanis Family Committee to help support our partnership with Scholar Reach, we have created new service projects to add to the service project directory, and have been working on promoting service which you will see later in this edition of Key News!
As the quarter progresses we will be working on supplying all of you with presentations on how to run for an LtG position and for higher office; positions like Webmaster, Bulletin Editor, Secretary-Treasurer, Governor, and any international positions. If you are interested in running reach out to your LtG or me if you have any questions.
As always if you have any concerns or questions please reach out to me.
Hey everyone! My name is Lina Mousa, and I am incredibly excited to serve as your 2024-2025 Key Club International Trustee! I’m entering my senior year in New Jersey, where I had the honor of chartering my high school’s Key Club as a sophomore and running for Lieutenant Governor that same year. Now, I’m thrilled to continue making an impact on a larger scale! My main goal this year is to focus on membership growth and retention. When I’m not busy with school, you can find me enjoying sunsets on the beach or perfecting my homemade Thai tea. I’m really looking forward to working with our District Pairing, which consists of Alabama, Indiana, and the Bahamas. I can’t wait to see what wewill accomplish together this year! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions.
Every year each district is paired up with two other districts. Districts are paired up based on their trustee! Our international trustee represents the Bahamas District, Alabama District, and Indiana District this year. So that means they are our district pairing, and that means if you go to Lina’s office hours you may just meet some people from those districts. In the top image, you can see our District Governor Jason Bunag, in the middle photo is the Alabama District Governor Allison Jones, and in the bottom photo, you can see the Bahama District Governor Gerardo Annacius.
On the weekend of August 24th- 25th the Indiana District held our annual August Board Meeting in Lafayette.
At this board meeting, the INDB could see each other and catch up with what everyone was doing for the past few months. Committee Chairs gave reports of what their committee has done throughout the quarter and what they plan to do in the upcoming months. Execs and LtGs worked together on many different things to help benefit the district.
The INDB also had the amazing opportunity to go to the Kiwanis Luncheon at their DCON. Many students were able to meet their Kiwanis Counterparts and finally put a face to the name and hopefully build some connections.
Key Leader registration has opened! ey Leader is a three-day-long program that teaches principles of leadership and will run from November 1st to November 3rd, and will be held at Camp Tecumseh in Brookston, IN. There will be many opportunities for large group and small group discussions, hands on activities, and a team-building challenge course! In addition to all the wonderful skills you can learn, you can make many great friends and wonderful new memories.
This event is open to all Key Club members and any other high school students, so make sure to sign up! Registration will close on October 25th, but spots are limited, so registration may close sooner. So sign up ASAP, so you don’t get left out! Hold a coat donation drive as now is the time when it can start getting cold Volunteer at a soup kitchen. Make blankets and donate them to shelters. Make dog toys for animal shelters. You can do many service projects this fall, such as:
While participating in service projects with your home club is beneficial to the community, partnering with other clubs at your school or in your area can help to increase involvement and engagement in service! In the near future, the Crown Point Key Club from the Arrowhead Division is hosting a joint service project with their school’s Business Professionals of America (BPA) Club. They will be helping out at a local food bank to box Thanksgiving meals for families. Not only will having more volunteers from both clubs increase the amount of service completed, but it will also help forge interconnection between clubs such as Key Club and BPA! If possible, consider hosting a joint service project at your home club, and see what connections you can make through service, too!
“Crown Point is starting the new school year off stronger than they have ever before. The officers have taken a huge step forward to improve their club by doing things such as getting CP more involved in the district and promoting Key Club, more school-wide to grow membership. They're getting ready to participate in a brand new service opportunity where they will run a schoolwide coat drive in collaboration with other schools in their county. They're so excited to see what the rest of the year looks like for their club” - Jordyn Gates a Crown Point Key Club Officer and INDB LtG.
Are you interested in going to Key Leader this year? If you are, you should fill out the DART scholarship submission form! The goal of the DART scholarship which stands for District Actional Recruitment Scholarship is to encourage members from schools who have not attended Key Leader in 6+ years to go to this year ' s event! Although the priority is given to those who have not been in 6+ years, everyone is encouraged to apply. Scholarship recipients will receive a check in the mail to reimburse them a few weeks following the event. If you are a winner, you will receive an email to get some information from you. All submissions are due on September 30th so now is your chance to apply! We look forward to
The INDB is starting a new scholarship program this year! The Club Support scholarship has 4 main scholarships held within it.
1. Club reactivation: Club reactivation is another big motive of this scholarship. There are no extra requirements for this portion of the scholarship other than asking your local Kiwanis club for the reactivation cost first. This scholarship will cover the full $23 cost for reactivation.
Dues: Dues are the main motive of this scholarship. If someone from your club needs assistance paying for dues, this is the perfect scholarship for them As this dues assistance is reserved for individuals experiencing financial difficulties.
2. Club Chartering: Club chartering will be a collaboration between the scholarship paying for half, and your Kiwanis club paying for half. There are no other requirements for this scholarship. It will cover $200 of the $400 chartering cost
3. Service projects: Larger service projects will be a huge aspect of this scholarship. This scholarship requires a small essay over what the service project is about and your motives for doing the project. This scholarship will cover up to $100 of your service project cost.
4. The club support scholarship is for advisors to fill out ONLY; they will fill the form out on behalf of their club/members. Club officers are not able to fill this form out. We look forward to seeing all of your submissions this year
As the world's largest youth water organization, the Thirst Project is working to END the global water crisis. Across the United States, they inform high school and college students of how they can be proponents of social change. The movement builds freshwater wells in developing nations. To bring awareness of the lack of clean water, we partnered with the Key Club Walks movement to highlight the everyday struggles of impoverished communities.
UNICEF and Key Club have been partners for many years. Key Club works towards helping UNICEF achieve its goal of helping support children who are victims of war, disasters, extreme poverty, all forms of violence and exploitation, and those with disabilities. Key Club has also started many initiatives to help such as Start Strong Zambia, and establishing a UNICEF champion in each district. Your club can also particpate in trick or treat for UNICEF, for more information click HERE!
