GOVERNOR GOVERNOR UPDATE UPDATE ELIJAH PUENTE Hi Indiana! I hope all is well and everyone is enjoying their Summer! Lately I have been working on a number of things, and I am excited for all of the new opportunities and additions coming to our already outstanding district! I've spent a lot of my time this past quarter supporting our District Committees so they can achieve all that they are capable of. Also, I attended SLC with the Executive Board where I cast my vote in the International Board election, and Leadcon where I received additional training for my position. I am beyond excited to soon introduce you all to our District's new International Trustee. Currently, I am working on my Governor's Project so that I can share it all with you, and hopefully, you will be inclined to share it with many others, so be on the lookout for that! I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for our INDB. The INDB is made up of a wonderful, caring group of servant leaders that work constantly to uphold our district in the best way possible. If you have not reached out to your division's Lieutenant Governor, I highly encourage you to. You may learn about some outstanding opportunities or make a new friend. As always, thank you for your continued dedication to our organization, everything you do is appreciated and you matter.

EXECUTIVE EXECUTIVE BOARD BOARD UPDATES UPDATES CARYSSA ROARK - EDITOR Hi (again)! I am enjoying the summer so far, and I hope you are too. Between soccer practice, Key Club work, and vacations, it has been pretty busy. With Key Club, I have been working on this magazine (obviously), reviewing newsletters created by our Lieutenant Governors, and helping out with social media. I also got the privilege of flying out to Orlando, FL to attend ICON! It was an unforgettable experience and I am so thankful that I was able to go. Anyways, I hope you enjoy reading the rest of this and have a great start to the school year!

EXECUTIVE EXECUTIVE BOARD BOARD UPDATES UPDATES ANGELINA DALLOUL - WEBMASTER Hi Indiana! I hope your summers have treated you all extremely well and you have been able to enjoy it while continuing to serve others! Personally, I have been hard at work ensuring the website is updated and maintained. You can visit the website (inkeyonline.org) to learn more about our Adult Administrators, view the meeting minutes from the Indiana District Board gatherings, and much more. In addition to the website, I have been posting regularly on our social media accounts, highlighting June Workday, SLC, and various other events. Next, I have been working alongside the Service Committee in an effort to help create a service project directory. When this is completed, members and advisors will be able to travel to our website and browse through countless service projects which they can then implement in their clubs. I also had the opportunity to attend SLC in person and it was well worth it. There was just something about being in a room full of other people who share the same passion for serving as you: it was truly inspiring. From the informational workshops to the inspirational keynote speakers, my entire SLC experience was one to remember. Alas, I should bid you all adieu and wish you all a successful start to your school years!

COMMITTEE CHAIR DANICA DUNN Hey Key Club! My name is Danica Dunn and I am a senior at Rivet High School in Vincennes, Indiana. This year will be my third year in Key Club, with my home club being Knox County Key Club. I am proud to be the 2021-2022 Buffalo Trace Lieutenant Governor and also your Indiana Service Committee Chair. This is my first year in both of these positions, and I’ve been so excited to learn all that there is to know about Key Club through these roles. I plan to help guide my committee in creating amazing service opportunities for all Indiana Key Clubbers! For me, being the 2021-2022 Indiana Service Committee Chair has created a new mindset within me, a mindset of others above self.

COMMITTEE COMMITTEE UPDATES UPDATES WHAT IS THE SERVICE COMMITTEE?

Service Committee

The Indiana Service Committee is broken up into three amazing subcommittees: Service Project Directory, Indiana E-Club, and Key Clubbers Got Talent! The goal of the Service Project Directory and Indiana E-Club subcommittees is to ensure that service projects ideas are easily accessible to and reach all Indiana Key Clubbers through online platforms. The mission of Key Clubbers Got Talent is to give every child a chance by hosting an annual telethon raising money for Riley Children’s Hospital. The entire Service Committee strives to create and market safe, effective service projects for Indiana Key Clubbers to utilize.

WHAT HAVE THEY BEEN UP TO? The Service Committee members have been hard at work in their assigned subcommittees. Service Project Directory members have been collecting service project ideas from Key Clubbers from all over the state and organizing information about them to eventually be posted to the directory webpage. Indiana E-Club members have been gathering information and advice from other districts that have started an E-Club (an entirely online-based Key Club). The members will now be working on advertising our own E-Club to high schools in Indiana without Key Clubs. Key Clubbers Got Talent members have been busier than ever preparing for the KCGT Talent Show Telethon taking place on October 9, 2021! Some members have been active on social media advertising the event, while some have been working to pursue sponsorships, create a t-shirt design, collaborate with Riley to create a website, and much more.

The three-day hybrid event consisted of informational yet exciting workshop sessions, inspirational keynote speakers, and guests from all over the world. Our speakers educated us on topics ranging from the value of promises made and kept to the dangers of multitasking through its correlation to lowered efficiency. We were also introduced to our new

"CARING... OUR WAY OF LIFE."

International partnerErika’s Lighthouse- an organization devoted to mental health awareness, teen depression prevention, and suicide prevention. The Indiana District cannot wait to work closely with Erika’s Lighthouse to ensure that their reach and resources are spread to each club in Indiana. SUMMER SUMMER LEADERSHIP LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE CONFERENCE MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

CARYSSA ROARK Words cannot describe the way I felt at SLC. Being in a room full of people from around the nation who share the same passion as me after such a long year was truly amazing. Although I was not directly involved in the voting process, it was still cool to see how everything went down. I learned a lot about communication and my future through the workshops I attended. Cool enough, two of the workshop speakers were from Indiana!

"ALL OUR DREAMS CAN COME TRUE IF WE HAVE THE COURAGE TO PURSUE THEM." -WALT DISNEY

Before and after the conference times, we were able to walk across the street to Disney Springs. Outside of the conference, the weekend was full of delicious food, shopping, and taking Instagram pictures! On Sunday (after SLC was already over with), our district and the Kansas district went to Disney's Animal Kingdom! I loved that the first time I went to Disney World was with Key Club!

Key Clubbers Got Talent is a studentled organization where Key Club members of the Indiana District come together to host an online telethon, hoping to raise money for Riley Hospital for Children. Every year, the hospital treats over 300,000 pediatric patients. Unfortunately, some families are not able to afford the cost of their child’s care. Because of this, we have decided to continue the legacy of the talent show telethon, hoping that we can give each child the chance they deserve. This year, we have created a goal of $15,000 in donations. All proceeds will be donated directly to Riley Hospital for Children helping families save their children. Although we have only been established since the beginning of 2020, our goal is to carry down Key Clubbers Got Talent for decades to come. Every donation, video submission, and sponsorship aids in giving children around the country a chance to live a happy and healthy life.

How can you help? The Key Clubbers Got Talent committee will begin to accept talent submissions starting August 1st, so begin brainstorming! Keep in mind that your video submission can be recent or you can choose to send us a video from the past. Additionally, we ask that all Key Clubbers pay a minimum donation of $5 which will go directly towards Riley Hospital for Children. As some of you may know, your LTG is also helping us out with sponsorships and donations, so be sure to remind your clubs! We deeply appreciate your contributions and support. <3
