fundraising 101

Starting a fundraiser can be a challenging task, especially when you don’t where to begin. From setting a fundraising goal to identifying a target audience, there are many different elements to consider. It will take time, effort, and patience to get the ball rolling, but you can make it happen! To help you on your journey, here is a guide on how to start it:

Identify a cause that you are passionate about: This could be a charity, a community organization, or a cause that is close to your heart. This will be what keeps you going when things don't go exactly as planned, so make sure to choose something you will stand by, even during challenging times.

Set a goal: Decide how much money you want to raise and set a goal for your fundraising. It is good to set a goal early on so you have a clear objective.

Create a plan: Come up with a plan for how you will raise money. Fundraisers can range from bake sales, car washes, and lemonade stands, to recreational sports tournaments. If your goal is hard to reach, don't be afraid to organize multiple events to reach it!

Get other people involved: Enlist the help of your club members, classmates, friends, and even family to assist with your fundraising efforts. More people means more hands on deck!

Utilize social media: Today, social media is such an integral part of our lives that it can be one of the best ways to reach a larger audience! You can even open for donations from all over the world.

Show appreciation: Remember to show appreciation to your donors, and even provide updates on how the money is being used! There is no way any fundraiser could work without donors.

Have fun: Remember to have fun! While fundraising is not exactly something you do to pass the time, it can be an amazing experience for everyone involved. Fundraising and community service can be fun if you let them!
