A Message from the Booth
HEAD OF SCHOOL
The 2023-24 school year was a spectacular 50th birthday celebration for all that Indian Creek School has been, is now, and can be in the future!
Over the past year, our School community realized numerous significant achievements. ICS successfully completed our 10year AIMS accreditation, a rigorous multi-year process which reaffirmed that Creek is who we say we are: a school community deeply rooted in kindness and relentlessly committed to educational excellence This affirmation paved the way for the Board of Trustees to set a five-year Strategic Plan that set the School’s path to becoming the premier independent school in the Annapolis area In this first year, we have achieved many of the goals set by this plan, which will ultimately culminate in planning for measured enrollment growth and a new building.
During the 2023-24 school year, Indian Creek also expanded and enhanced our signature Early Childhood Outdoor Learning program, Middle School Project Based Learning curriculum, and established The Evergreen Institute, a leadership program for Upper School students.
Perhaps the most impactful achievement of the past year was an update to the Indian Creek School mission statement. Through thoughtful reflection about how we believe we can best provide an excellent educational experience, the Board of Trustees adopted the following statement:
Indian Creek School inspires authenticity, connection, and curiosity so every student can pursue their full potential in scholarship and in life.
Your support has enabled us to dive in to this important work, and pursue the excellence that defines Indian Creek. We have invested in programs that benefit our students, faculty and staff, which in turn attract talent and community members to our campus, creating an exciting and vibrant educational experience.
Thank you for your continued support Your investment not only strengthens Indian Creek today but ensures its bright and promising future

2023-24 was a year of celebration, as Indian Creek marked it’s first half-century of inspired teaching and learning. The festivities were a vibrant blend of cherished traditions such as our Creek Connections Parent Social and our CREEKfest fall festival/homecoming celebration along with new, exciting events like our Golden Jubilee! From the grand opening ceremony to the nostalgic alumni gatherings, every moment was a testament to Indian Creek’s rich history and community spirit. It was a year to remember, filled with joy, reflection, and a renewed sense of unity.
Our 50th Golden Jubilee! Our 50th Golden Jubilee!
Over 350 parents, alumni, former faculty, grandparents, and friends dazzled in sparkly attire for Indian Creek’s 50th Golden Jubilee! Another 100+ friends and family joining us online for our auction.
With your generous support and lead gifts from our Board of Trustees, we raised $285,000 for the Creek at our Golden Jubilee! Your support is not just a gift. It is a commitment to the Creek community, the next generation of students, and the future.
Thank you for making an impact!
Congratulations, Class of 2024! Congratulations, Class of 2024!
The Indian Creek School Class of 2024 had a positive impact on the school community and beyond! During their time at ICS, this class navigated the COVID-19 pandemic, won zero Creek Cups, but eight league Championship titles, created countless new programs, clubs, and affinity groups. The 57 graduates received 289 offers of admission at 156 colleges and universities and were awarded over $6.9 M in scholarships. They set new school records and earned ICS the AP Platinum honors from the college Board. The school is very proud that eight members of the Class of 2024 were “lifers,” attending from PreK/Kindergarten through graduation. This class also honored six visual and performing artists and six athletes who will continue their crafts at the collegiate level, as well as three students who continued on to U.S. service academies. Their College Matriculation list can be viewed on the ICS website.
A Premier Faculty & Staff!
Denise Malinow and Brad Woodward were honored with their 30 year plaques on June 6, 2024 and we celebrated 35 amazing years for Marsha Gardener!
Students and current faculty were delighted to reconnect with Former Legacy Faculty members, those who worked at ICS for 20+ years, who joined in our 50th celebrations.
Thank you for impacting the future of Indian Creek!
