CONGRESS

Pastor Figueroa asserted that “Christians must be guardians of the Work of God.” Afterwards, in the evening, Rev. Romulo Vergara, International Director of the Work, shared the message “Filled With the Holy Spirit to Build the Kingdom,” based on Acts 1: 8. The Second European Congress of the Worldwide Missionary Movement ended with a missionary march. Its crowning moment was the participation of Rev. Alvaro Garavito, International Director of the Work of God, who preached the Word with a message based on 1 Corinthians 3: 11-14 and entitled “Building in Uprightness to Keep Our Vision.” The spiritual celebration in Spain caught the attention of thousands of Christians all over the world thanks to the broadcast of Bethel Television.

“DOCTRINE IS THE PILLAR OF THE CHURCH”

REV. HUMBERTO HENAO International Director of the WMM

The man of God in this Work must be someone who studies the Holy Scriptures, and this is not optional. All men of God in the altar must have a private corner for prayer, a personal and intimate place to study the Word, not just in the church, but also at home. If God has called you for this, you must invest not only prayers and fasting, but your money, too. You must have a well-stocked library. Doctrine is the main pillar of any Church. A Church with no doctrine can be easily blown away by any adverse wind. This is why the Bible speaks much about the sound doctrine. The sound doctrine is not a concept, but the correct knowledge of the rules in a congregation. Nobody has the right to impose their personal criteria as if they were biblical doctrine. When it comes to our spiritual life, we must constantly verify the verticality of the Church; we must prevent it from tilting. Pastors must be vigilant to always keep it plumb so that it does not collapse, as collapse means tilt, and ruin may come. Those who aspire to a ministry must know that they will be exposed to the public eye in their personal, family and administrative activities, and basically every aspect of their lives. The price of being a minister is very high; just take a look at the letters of Titus and Timothy and you will see that the most demanding areas in a pastor’s life concern ethics and morals, not academic or theological knowledge.
