Rebecca Ferguson comes to visit... Rebecca Ferguson came to visit Central Liverpool Foodbank as part of a short film on the issue of Food Poverty. She spent time talking to volunteers and clients, serving tea and coffee and sorting some of our food supplies. Rebecca said: “It has been a humbling experience. Coming from Liverpool, I’ve always had my feet on the ground, but this has really opened my eyes.” “As a mum myself it’s hard to hear about children going hungry. I suppose the only positive thing is it makes me all the more determined. It’s wrong that people are going hungry in this city, and if we can do anything about that then all the better.”
Figures continue to rise... Between April and September we have seen almost the same amount of people coming to Foodbank as we did in the whole of 2012-13. Since April we have given food to 4,161 people, compared to 4,803 people between April 2012 and April 2013. If this continues we will have fed approximately 10,000 people by the end of the financial year.
A bountiful harvest collection...
A special Thank you to...
We want to say a huge THANK YOU to all those who donated to their harvest collections for the Foodbank in October. We received over 3,000kgs from 20 schools and churches.
