From the Principal

Heavenly Father, We come before You with grateful hearts, Thanking You for the incredible school volunteers who serve with dedication and love. Bless them abundantly for their selfless contributions and strengthen them in their work.

May their efforts bring glory to Your name and positively impact the lives of the students they support. Amen.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to our Week 7 newsleNer.

I would like to thank the parents and staff who aNended our Annual Community Mee<ng on Tuesday evening. It was a fantas<c opportunity to reflect on the 2024 school year and gather together as a community. Informa<on from the ACM will be available on our school website shortly. At the ACM it was announced that there will be a 5.5% increase in fees in 2025. This is the first increase in fees in a few years, aXer a 10% reduc<on in 2023.

Special thanks to Joanna Brisbane, Dharshan Elikewela and Nicole Mammone who are stepping down from the School Advisory Council, as well as Giulia De Rizzo and Karen Holden who have stepped down from the P&F Execu<ve. We thank you for the many years and <me you have given to the school in these important roles. I would also like to thank Nell Scaleb and Simone Wiles who were co-opted onto the P&F commiNee during the year.

At the ACM, I was pleased to announce that our 2025 School Advisory Council are Tanya Davis, Jemima Saunders, Mark Hannah, Victoria Rowland, Kelly Rivas and Donald Johnson. Our P&F Execu<ve for next year are Samantha Cherubino, Domenica Pizzata, Stephanie Freeman and Melissa Seth (co-opted). We would really love another parent who would be happy to come onto the P&F as Treasurer as this role is s<ll to be filled. Support will be given by the school, current P&F Execu<ve and Karen to help ease into the role. Please contact the school, Domenica and Samantha if you can help out.

Today we celebrated and thanked our parent volunteers who have given their <me so generously to various commiNees or classroom ac<vi<es. I would like to thank everyone who has contributed in some way as a volunteer this year.

We look forward to seeing our community join us for our Christmas Concert on Thursday 28 November at 6.00pm. So that we can set up for the evening, school gates will close as usual at 3.30pm and will reopen at 5.00pm so that you can gather on the oval.

Thank you to all families who have contributed to the Vinnies Christmas Appeal to help those who need support over Christmas. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

I will be on Long Service Leave from the 3 December. In my absence, Mr Frank Colangelo will be short term principal.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Advent - Begins 1 December 2024

The season of Advent commences on Sunday 1 December. Advent begins the Church’s liturgical year and prepares people to celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas.

Advent is about wai<ng as God’s people had spent centuries longing and wai<ng for the day the Messiah would come. Advent is not about passive wai<ng. It is an ac<ve <me of wai<ng during which Chris<ans are invited to respond to God’s Spirit in their lives.

People do not have to wait centuries for the coming of Jesus any more. They now know and remember the story of the birth of Jesus at Christmas. They remember that Jesus fulfilled the promise of the prophets [MaNhew 1:22-23].

With Mrs Le Coultre

Thank you

I would like to say a big thank you to my library helpers:Reya Del Borrello, Oscar Rogers, Chris<an Cinquina, Zoey Barker, Nabhas Samakkasewee, Rachael Fernandez, Aiden Joseph, Jacob Ross, Arlo Magnaterra, John Nino Vili, Leon Alungal, Juliet Rogers and Anderson Xiang for all your help in the library throughout the year. Your assistance has been greatly appreciated. For some students, all the very best for high school next year. For others, see you next year!

Year 6 - Library bags and tags

Year 6 students have the opportunity to recycle their library bags and name tags by dona<ng them to the library. This will help other students next year.

There is no obliga<on; however, recycling reduces landfill and this is one of your goals at Infant Jesus School.

2024 Year Five Summer Carnival

On Friday, the Year 5 students took to the courts and fields for the Year 5 Lightning Carnival. Students faced off against other schools in an inter-school ul@mate frisbee and tennis compe@@on. The ul@mate frisbee games were fast-paced and dynamic, with teams working together to move the disc down the field, while the tennis matches saw impressive rallies and displays of skill and strategy. Two of our tennis teams came out on top, winning their respec@ve compe@@ons. Congratula@ons to all par@cipants for their effort, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship. The Year 5 Lightning Carnival was a memorable day, highligh@ng the importance of physical ac@vity and the joy of being part of a team.
