From the Principal Almighty God We give you our school. We give you all the teachers and sta who work here, We give you all the children who learn here. We pray our school will con nue to be a place of great discovery, adventure and crea vity. May it be a place where we love to learn and where we learn to love, A place where every one is respected and all are deeply valued. We ask all this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Dear Parents and Guardians, Welcome back for the 2024 School Year. Despite the hot weather, the students have all started well and we look forward to a wonderful year full of learning, excitement and achievements. Please note the new date for our P&F Welcome Back Picnic. Due to the heat, we have postponed the picnic to Friday 16 February. We look forward to seeing everyone at our rst community event next Friday. We recognise that parking around the school can be an issue, but some safety issues have been brought to our a en on: - Please do not park on any verge area surrounding the school (Russell Street and Smith Street) as these are no stopping areas. Cars exi ng the drive through onto Smith Street are unable to see oncoming tra c if cars are parking on the verge. - The Early years carpark is only for families with students in Pre-Kindy, Kindy and Pre-Primary with a parking permit and for families who need to access the disabled parking bay. The City of Bayswater O cers conduct regular school parking patrols during school mes and further informa on about school parking can be found on their website. Infant Jesus School have implemented a new Incident Management Plan, which is in line with other CEWA schools. On Monday we will be holding an Emergency Evacua on drill so that all sta and students know what to do in an emergency. Any visitors to the school on Monday will need to follow the instruc ons of sta . At the beginning of this year, the new CEWA teacher EBA came into e ect. Under this EBA, teachers have a right to disconnect outside of their working hours. For non urgent ma ers, please contact your child’s teacher as usual through SeeSaw and they will reply as soon as they can during non-teaching work hours. For any urgent correspondence, please either phone or email the school o ce. Infant Jesus School is celebra ng 70 years of Catholic Educa on this year and we look forward to celebra ons throughout the year. If you would like to be a part of our celebra ons parent commi ee, please contact the school o ce. I look forward to a wonderful year

Parking, especially at the beginning of the year, is very much at premium. Please be pa ent with the parking situa on. It will ease as

the term progresses and more parents use the drive through to pick up and drop o children. We also ask parents to be considerate of other to ensure that tra c ows smoothly. We need to be courteous to our neighbours and follow the No Standing street signs at all mes to avoid being issued with nes.

Drive Through This is for parents who wish to drop o or pick up their child/ren without parking. Students will be supervised by a sta member to ensure they are collected safely by the child’s parents, or someone who has parental permission, at the end of the school day. Parents are reminded to be extra vigilant in their cars at this me as children depart the school grounds.

Drop O and Pick Up Parents are reminded of the Drop O and Pick Up procedures for the school day. following these procedures greatly assist with the safely of all the children. • Parents may drive from Peter’s Place into the school ‘drive through’ and drop children o by the entrance to the Hall • Parents then need to drive out into Smith Street • Please note this is ‘One Way’ only. This is also ‘Sta Parking Only’ to ensure that there are no moving vehicles during drop o and pick up • At the school ‘drive through’ there is NO pedestrian tra c

Parking • Church Carpark – this is the general carpark for our parents • The Parent Carpark is designated as the parking zone for Three Year Old Kindy, Kindergarten and Pre-Primary parents. The Parent Carpark is a ‘One Way’ area – parents drive in from Russell Street and out into Lovegrove Way. Permit passes have been given to these parents as they need to park their car to drop o and pick up their children from the classroom.
