1. CONGRESS/CONFERENCES/DIALOGS IIAS International Congress of IIAS, 22-26 June 2015, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) RETROSPECTIVE The International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) in close collaboration with the Fundação Getúlio Vargas have organized the 2015 International Congress of IIAS from 22 to 26 June in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on the theme ”Trust in Public Administration”. Trust is considered as a crucial issue at all levels of governance. Three subthemes were notably addressed during various sessions: • Citizens/Customers’ Trust in Governments, Public Administration and Public Sector at all levels of governance • Trust from Government in Society • Administrative Trust in Public Administration Reforms: inner-trust, civil servants’ trust and interorganisational trust More than 250 participants from 48 countries assisted to the Congress which were the meeting point of Practitioners, Academics, young Researchers/ PhD Students in public

management, as well as contributors from different disciplines. Sur un total de 274 soumissions de résumés, 231 ont été acceptées et 125 présentées. Note also that during this event were held the following sessions: • The Fifth Intercontinental Administrative Forum on theme Politics of Trust – Trust of Politics • The Braibant Lecture presented by Margaret Saner EPC(*) on the theme « Citizens and Public Servants: How is the Trust Relationship Evolving? » • The BRICS panel • The panel on the role of Schools of Governments in building Trust in PA • The panel on « Theorical and practical evolutions on Public Administration: Recent institutional publications » • The CEPA/UN panel • and the OECD Panel on Trust

IASIA Annual Conference of IASIA, 6-10 July 2015, Paris (France) RETROSPECTIVE From the 6th to the 10th of July 2015, IASIA, together with ‘Le Centre National de la Fonction Publique Territoriale’ (CNFPT) held its annual conference in Paris, France. The conference brought together practitioners, academics, PhD students and young researchers in public administration and management, as well as contributors from other disciplines who exchanged views on the issue of “Alternative Service Delivery Arrangements” and many papers were presented on this and related subjects. The conference had excellent keynote speeches by prof. Wolfgang Drechsler from the Tallinn University of Newsletter 1 Autumn 2015

Technology, Estonia and Roberta Ryan, the director of the Centre for Local Government within the University of Technology, Sydney and the Director of the Australian Centre of Excellence for Local Government. The general rapporteurs were Vincent Potier, directeur général du Centre national de la fonction publique territoriale (CNFPT) in France and Hiroko Kudo, Professor of public policy and public management at the Faculty of Law of Chuo University, Japan. In total, 333 participants from 57 countries attended the conference of IASIA in Paris.

From a total of 318 abstracts submitted, 237 of them were accepted and in total 204 presented at the conference. n
