The first CCAA incentive pay for employees will be distributed on December 8. The initiative encourages workers more actively to participate in and reap the rewards of the profitability of CCAA. This new employee benefit has been a goal for the CEO since his appointment and may scale as profitability grows.

Excluding individuals hired after the end of the fiscal year, June 30, 2022, the incentive pay percentage will be calculated on an employee's base rate of pay. The Compensation Plan highlights what that includes Employees hired after June 30 will receive $250 00

Interested in avoiding the high tax bite? Consider depositing your incentive check into your Empowerment Account.Use the Annual Leave worksheet to help calculate how much you can contribute to your South Carolina Deferred Compensation Program (Deferred Comp.) account. HR can assist you in obtaining this information.

ADDIE Solutions conducted training on October 12th and 13th with a group of employees looking to improve their teamwork, communication, and productivity in the workplace The exercise required each team to create a t shirt based on their DISC (Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Compliance) style In addition, employees received assessments that identified their personality styles, provided goals to help them grow, and explained their communication styles. Employees who have never worked together could understand how to communicate with others who differ from them in leadership, communication, and teamwork.

Our Employee of the Quarter for Q3 is Valet Attendant Christopher “Chris” Corde. On Wednesday, October 5, Chris was closing out a valet ticket for a customer, the customer was clearly intoxicated and was not able to enter his information in the system to pay for his service

Chris recognize that the customer was intoxicated and went into action to protect the customer, employees, and those on the road traveling in the line of sight Chris offered to escort the customer to the taxi booth to get a ride home The customer was compliant with Chris and proceeded to the taxi booth to return the next day and pick up his vehicle

Chris took the initiative and closed out the ticket so the customer would not be charged for an additional day. He made sure that the shift coming in to relieve him was aware of the situation and where they could locate the vehicle, since it was an extra car in their inventory.

SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATOR

SHARON SHAW RETIRES AFTER 30 YEARS OF SERVICE

Sharon Shaw will retire from Charleston County Aviation Authority as a Public Safety Telecommunicator II, after 30 years of service, on December 30, 2022! She discussed her highlight and motivation for coming to work with us

"The environment in which I work has been one of the motivating factors that have kept me coming to work for over 30 years My co workers and I work together to provide outstanding customer service It isn’t easy working in a service oriented, public safety job position However, my department is like a family. We face challenges and grow together as one. We embrace each other’s strengths as well as weaknesses Our buzzword is “team,” which stands for Together Everyone Achieves More An upbeat environment is what we strive for each day Like Helen Keller once said, 'Alone, we can do a little Together we can do so much '" Sharon stated.

Entering retirement, Sharon says. she's been blessed with the birth of a grandson born in June; and fraternal twins, born in September. This is in addition to the three grandchildren she already has. Her three children reside in Clover, SC; Charlotte, NC; and Gaffney, SC,

Therefore, Sharon plans to spend some time traveling and stepping further into her role as a blessed grandmother. She also plans on engaging in some service oriented work in her church and community. This will include reconnecting with the Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy Survivorship Group, maybe volunteering with the Red Cross, and signing up again for Substitute Teaching. "Wherever I can spread my wings, shine my light, and bring tidings of harmony and cheer, that’s where one will be able to find me," Sharon said.

Congratulations on your retirement and your wonderful career!
