We have one benefit information session remaining Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. This will allow you an opportunity to learn what is new with CCAA 2024 benefits All sessions will take place in the Administration Conference Room Space is limited, so pre-registration is required Please log into PowerDMS to reserve your spot!

Another successful summer internship has come and gone. Thank you to the Department Heads and Supervisors who participated in the program. This year, we had six interns from various parts of the country participate. The program culminated with a thank you and farewell luncheon for our interns Former intern and now CCAA full-time employee Emilio Wilson delivered a rallying speech to the interns on the Internship Program and its benefits.

The internship program provides college students and recent college graduates with opportunities to learn the complex and dynamic profession of airport management. Charleston County Aviation Authority Internship Program is committed to cultivating diversity and inclusion in the workplace while developing and recruiting top talent. So encourage anyone that you know who qualifies to sign up for an internship opportunity.

On September 7, CHS launched inaugural flights from Charleston to Las Vegas with Spirit Airlines! Passengers, employees and tenants celebrated at Gate A7 with games, swag, and treats before boarding their flight to Las Vegas. Flights will run 5x weekly between Charleston and the entertainment capital.

Spirit also announced season flights between Charleston and Tampa, and Fort Myers beginning in November

On September 26, CHS Airport Operations and its partners conducted their tri-annual training exercise to test the airport’s emergency plan The event hosted over 20 partners, including local police departments, airlines, and Joint Base Charleston

CHS hosted a MWBE outreach event on September 7 for the upcoming Annex project. The event occurred in the space where the work will take place and all six qualified prime contractors participated. Multiple minority and women owned sub-contractors attended and met with the primes to establish potential partnerships on the project.
