† JEFFERY Nathan Clinton Jeffrey age 33 of Saranac formerly of Ionia passed away unexpectedly June 3, 2023. He was born March 27, 1990, the son of Robert Clinton Jeffrey and Penny Lou Wilder.

Nathan attended Ionia Public Schools, he enjoyed music and socializing with friends and family. He loved fishing and hunting with his dad.

Surviving Nathan is his Father Robert Clinton Jeffrey of Ionia. Half sister Brandy Straub and Half brother Robert Lee Gonzales. Several Aunts and Uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his Mother Penny.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Nathan’s life will be held at his aunt’s home at 972 East Washington St. Ionia on Saturday June 10th 1-5 p.m. Arrangements in care of Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. Online condolences may be made at www. lakefuneralhomes.com.

† KEHOE John William Kehoe, age 69, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023. John was born on May 11, 1954, the son of John and Helen (Thompson) Kehoe in Detroit. On June 10, 2009, he married the love of his life, Lynn.

John loved camping, he also enjoyed working outside, tinkering, guns, and shooting. He was known to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn, of Grand Rapids; children, Kathryn (Norman) Miller of Orleans, Kristine (Christopher) Dukes of Potterville, Deanne Irelan of Lansing, David Irelan of Holland, and Deborah (Westley) Smith of Colorado; sister, Annie Kehoe of Texas; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

† OLSON Herbert “Herb” Wayne Olson, age 79, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. Herb was born on March 24, 1944, the son of Walter and Kathleen “Henry” Olson in Grand Rapids. On June 29, 1968, he married the love of his life, the former Judy Lake.

Herb enjoyed watching sports, playing cards, fishing, and gardening. He loved having cookouts with his family and making ice-cream with grandchildren. He was a member of the National Guard for 2 years and retired from General Motors after 32 years of service.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy of Grand Rapids; Son, Mark Olson of Grand Rapids; daughters, Julie Olson of South Haven, Tammy (Scott) Poling of Tecumseh and Dawn Olson of Kentwood; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Herb was preceded in death by his parents.

Annette Troms age 83 of Ionia passed away June 2, 2023. She was born February 19, 1940, in Lansing the daughter of Maximillan and Gladys (Davis) Maranka. Joyce joined the Army serving during the Vietnam War.

She married Zigurds Troms June 30, 1967, in Lansing, Michigan. He preceded her in death November 15, 2003. Joyce was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Grand Rapids Board of Realtors, Past President and member of Ionia Board of Realtors, and the Yellow Rose Guild. Surviving Joyce are her children; Roberts (Diana) Troms of Saranac, Eriks (Diane) Troms of Bean Station, Tennessee, Brad Davis of Ionia, Kaelene (John) Rairigh of Simpsonville, South Carolina, and Audrey (Gabe) Helou of Royal Oak. Brother Gerry (Georgeen) Maranka of Lowell. 7 grandchildren and many great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Marivaldis Troms, brothers Max Maran, Harry Maran, Charlie Maran, and sister Joanne Troms. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ionia Friday, June 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Richard Boshoven officiating. Visitation will be at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia on Thursday 4-7 p.m. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to St. John’s Lutheran Church in memory of Joyce. Notice is hereby given in accordance with the provisions of Public Act No. 110 of 2006 the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act, as amended, that the Village of Muir Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing as noticed above at 7:00 pm at the Village Office at 122 W Superior St, Muir, Michigan. The Planning and Zoning Commission will consider recommendation of adoption of the proposed Village of Muir Zoning Ordinance. If adopted, this will be Muir’s inaugural zoning ordinance.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on Monday, June 26, 2023 at 7:00 p.m., in the Conference Room at Saranac Central Office, 225 Pleasant Street, Saranac, Michigan, the Board of Education of Saranac Community Schools will hold a public hearing to consider the district’s proposed 2023-2024 budget.

The Board may not adopt its proposed 2023-2024 budget until after the public hearing. A copy of the proposed 2023-2024 budget including the proposed property tax millage rate is available for public inspection during normal business hours at the Superintendent’s Office, 225 Pleasant Street, Saranac, Michigan.

The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing.
