† HASKINS Karen Sue Haskins age 76 of Saranac, MI passed away surrounded by her family on May 3, 2023. She was born on May 17, 1946, in Ionia the daughter of LaVern and Hazel (Bailey) Harris.
Karen married Chuck Haskins on June 26, 1971, in Ionia, he passed away April 10, 2023. She worked for Amway in customer service for several years. Karen was a member of Saranac Community Church. She had incredible faith and a special church family. She loved decorating and shopping.
Surviving Karen is her children, Lynn (Dan) Kaufman of Saranac, Angie (Kevin) Krick of Saranac and Toby (Lanette) Haskins of Saranac; grandchildren, Gordon (Andrea) Keech, Jessica Frazier, Scott (Kara) Spitzley, Chelsea Dunn, Bailey Strouse, Taven Haskins, Shelby Haskins, Heather (Garron) Slater and Dylan (Tarah) Leland; several great grandchildren; brother-in-law Lionel Haskins of Saranac and sister-in-law Rosemary (Dan) Healy of Florida. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and very special friends Marlene and Dave Courter and Yvonne Elvert. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Chuck Haskins, daughter Brenda Brown-Kerr.
Funeral services for Karen will be held at Saranac Community Church on Monday, May 8th 1:00 PM. Interment at Saranac Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to services (11-1). Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Saranac Community Church.

† ROWE Eric L. Rowe, 58, of Sheridan, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on March 1, 2023 at his home. He was born on October 22, 1964, in Ionia, Michigan. Eric was a graduate of Portland High School Class of 1982. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1982 to 1988.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bruce Rowe; his grandparents, Lewis and Dorothy Rowe and Lawrence and Margurette Woodbury.
Eric was the beloved husband of Denise Kay (Griffus) Rowe for 8 years; father of Tyler Rowe of Texas, Paige (Will) Hicks of DeWitt, Morgan Rowe of Texas, and Ryan (Wendy) Irland of Lake Isabella, Michigan; grandchildren, Paityn, Ezra, Jace, Aurora, Zander, and Zachary; mother, Diane Rowe of Portland; and sister, Keeley (Rick) Burgess of West Jordan, Utah.
Eric drove truck for Meijer for 13 years. He made lots of friends during his time there. Eric enjoyed riding jet skis on the lake behind his house, was an avid NASCAR enthusiast, and a UofM fan. Eric will be sadly missed by many. So until we see you again, Eric/Handsome/Son/Brother/Dad/ Grandpa.
