March 25 , 2024 was a warm, sunny Monday - in the 60s - a nice surprise after having over 6 inches of snow last week. That’s our Michigan!

It was also warm and sunny inside the Saranac Community Church as well. We didn’t just collect 47 units of life- saving blood, we enjoyed a rare experience. Three sisters signed up to donate blood together- Elizabeth Callahan, Carolyn Manion, and their sister, Diana Roush - a first time donor - Wow! We also had two more first time donors - Alan Gray and Shannon Gray.

† ANDERSEN Beverly Andersen age 82 of Winchester, Virginia, formerly of Ionia, MI passed away March 23, 2024. She was born on June 20, 1941 in Fenwick the daughter of Leo and Cecelia (Kelly) Litchfield. On October 24, 1959, Beverly married Leon Andersen in Palo, MI. Together they celebrated 44 years of marriage. He passed away March 20, 2004.

Beverly worked as a secretary for Schanski Chrysler Dodge for many years.

She enjoyed riding motorcycles, snowmobiles, camping, karaoke, going to the casino and spending the winters in Florida. Moved to VA in October of 2022 to be close to family, bought a house in July of 2023 in a quiet area, played cards with the golden girls. Beverly is survived by her son, Timothy (Tammy) Andersen of Winchester, VA; grandsons, Daneal Andersen and Fiancé Candace Mason of Buker Hill, WV and Travis Andersen of Winchester, VA; great-grandson, Graysen; sister, Retta Morris of Ionia. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leon and son Thomas Andersen. Funeral services will be held at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia on Friday, April 5th at 11:00 AM.
