GOVguild is an exclusive network of APS6 professionals who are dedicated to enhancing their experiences and finding fulfillment in the Australian Public Service.

The approach is based on principles of positive organisational psychology, modern motivation theory, and workplace wellbeing. It strategically complements the APS Planning and Performance cycle with a consistent, strengths-based performance process.

Members support each other through a vibrant peer network where they exchange ideas, perceptions, aspirations, and discoveries. The GOVguild 1% Challenge for APS6 members is an initiative aimed at improving their collective wellbeing by focusing on making small but consistent improvements.

Research and evidence-based practice show that even a small improvement in individual wellbeing can have a ripple effect on others around them, leading to an overall improvement in the culture and productivity of the APS.

The benefits of the challenge include increased job satisfaction, engagement, and productivity, leading to better outcomes for the APS and Australians. It also fosters a sense of belonging and connection within the APS, encouraging collaboration and breaking down silos.

Ultimately, the challenge is about striving for ongoing mastery of the Good Work Life and asking the question "how good can it get?”.

By prioritising collective wellbeing, the challenge can create a positive ripple effect through the APS and beyond.

Masterfully orchestrated, GOVguild is an innovative approach, designed to achieve the highest impact at the best possible value for participants, their teams, agencies, the Australian Public Service, Australians and Australia.

 Access to a secure, ethical, and scientifically validated assessment tool providing a holistic overview of an individual's mental, emotional, and physical state, along with actionable strategies to improve their wellbeing over time.

Measuring what matters - an evidence-based wellbeing assessment helping us master the Good Work Life

• Work on Wellbeing is an evidence-based wellbeing assessment tool that provides a holistic overview of an individual's mental, emotional, and physical state. This core experience is designed to help individuals master the Good Work Life and achieve wellbeing in all aspects of their life.

• By choosing Work on Wellbeing, individuals have access to a secure, ethical, and scientifically validated assessment tool that offers insight, guidance, and support towards achieving the Good Work Life. They receive a clear picture of their current state of wellbeing, along with actionable strategies to improve their wellbeing over time.

• Individuals track their progress towards the Good Work Life through wellbeing by monitoring personal results over time. As a core experience, relevant monthly tasks will be available throughout the Four Seasons Performance Series.

Work on Wellbeing complements the APS Reform by supporting the objective of building a skilled and capable workforce that is adaptive to change, as well as promoting a culture that values and supports diversity and inclusion.

It also encourages the use of data and technology to improve decision-making and service delivery, which aligns with the APS's focus on innovation.

By providing a holistic assessment tool for mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing, Work on Wellbeing supports the APS's objective of enhancing the health and wellbeing of its workforce.

• Taking the Work on Wellbeing Assessment is easy and only takes 15 minutes to complete. After completing the assessment, individuals unpack their WoW Report through a guided self-debrief for insight and planning. They discover the power of WoW and its benefits through the provided resources.

• By choosing Work on Wellbeing, individuals are a part of something extraordinary. They will be contributing collective data to the GOVguild 1% Challenge enabling the tracking of progress towards a 1% increase. By mastering a common framework for, and shared goals towards wellbeing, individuals greatly enhance their mentorship and shared experience.

By choosing the Art of Mentoring, individuals access the latest in mentoring best practices, evidence-based programs, software, and world-class resources offered by an Australian-based business operating globally in 26+ countries.

• Individuals master the Art of Mentoring through world-class, evidence-based online mentoring training developed by subject matter experts supporting them on their mentoring journey. They strengthen and grow their network across the APS, exponentially increasing their ability to pursue and demonstrate mastery of the Good Work Life.

• To get started, individuals access the secure Art of Mentoring platform and register in 10 minutes. The information provided during registration helps 'match' mentoring partners based on their agency, job family, strengths profile, and wellbeing indicators. The 'match' algorithm is designed to enable GOVguild's Big Purpose, support individuals in broadening and deepening a vibrant network, and to realise the Good Work Life through Core Experiences.

Art of Mentoring complements the APS Reform by focusing on building a skilled and capable workforce that can adapt to change and value diversity and inclusion.

It provides individuals with world-class, evidence-based online mentoring training to support them on their mentoring journey, strengthening and growing their network across the APS. This encourages collaboration and engagement between the APS and stakeholders, while improving the capability to manage and deliver major projects and initiatives.

The Art of Mentoring supports the APS Reform's objective of modernising and transforming the APS into a more effective and responsive public service.

• Quality training is critical in equipping individuals with the skills they need to maximise mentoring opportunities. Art of Mentoring training products are delivered as video-based, online training modules, and accessed via the Art of Mentoring platform. Guidance from both the Art of Mentoring and GOVguild platforms will be provided, and regular feedback sought throughout the Performance Series ensuring we stay on track and adjust when required.

Strengths Realisation is a core experience offered by GOVguild that helps members identify their strengths and use them to achieve their goals. Participants access the Strengths Profile tool, a world-leading assessment that measures 60 strengths across three dimensions of energy, performance, and use, and distributes the data across four quadrants. This Core Experience is designed by GOVguild's in-house Certified Strengths Profile Practitioner and is unique to GOVguild.

By mastering the single-page, four-step modeling method, Business Model You®, individuals gain career clarity and confidence. The Core Experience is designed by GOVguild's in-house Certified Business Model You® Facilitator and is unique to GOVguild.

Think through your fingers - unleash insight, inspiration and imagination

The LEGO® Serious Play® core experience is a powerful technique designed to facilitate thinking, communication, and problem solving. Extensive research from the fields of business, organisation development, psychology, and learning has been used to develop the methodology. This experience has been exclusively designed by GOVguild's in-house Certified LEGO® Serious Play® Facilitator.

• Through using bricks as a medium to build and express complex ideas through storytelling and metaphors, LEGO® Serious Play® participants literally have the Good Work Life concepts on the table. Collaborating and testing ideas with fellow Members, Mentors, and/or others lead to advanced insights.

• The experience generates a powerful emotional charge, making it easier to express thoughts and ideas in greater detail, be more easily understood and remembered. Participants have numerous opportunities to experience the methodology of LEGO® Serious Play® throughout the Four Seasons Performance Series, gaining a deeper understanding and clarity of their Good Work Life's identity and dynamics.

LEGO® Serious Play® complements the APS Reform by addressing some of its key objectives. Specifically, it can help to develop APS6 employees' problem-solving, communication, and critical thinking skills, which are essential for meeting the challenges of the future.

By fostering collaboration and promoting the sharing of ideas and insights, LEGO® Serious Play® can contribute to a more cohesive and integrated APS workforce.

This experience aligns with the APS Reform's goal of building a high-performing and agile public service that can respond to the changing needs of the Australian public.
