HSAM Learning Common

2021 February | Holy Spirit Academy of Malolos, Sta. Isabel, Malolos City

Design Conceptualization

To transition subtly to an energizing environment where students can engage in a diverse array of learning activities and encourage interaction.

It’s a place for students to migrate between class and after school --- a place where students can hang out

In designing the HSAM Learning Common, it must invite dynamism, yet functional and safe for the well-being of its users. As well as designing aesthetically using lighting, color, and texture to create a space conducive for learning and teaching.

A learning common is designed to include modern technology and tools that the faculty and learners can directly interact as both instructors and learners. Tools that supports active and engaged learning between students and tutors in a space that they both will enjoy.

"Interior architecture is a practice that incorporates the art of design and the science of architecture. It focuses on the technical aspects of planning and building a room."

Design Layout

Education is always evolving We have learned that the surrounding ambiance of a learning environment makes a significant impact on the emotional, psychological and intellectual development of the students and teachers alike

This is the concept that came about with the design of the HSAM Learning Common.

Floor Plan

With the room in L-shape form, the first point of consideration is where the educator will stand to reach the students across all parts of the room while making most of the space.

With that in mind, the platform is located at the corner where both students can see and hear the TV monitor, projector screen, and the teacher at a good viewing distance.

Proposed HSAM Learning Common

Design Project initiated by Alumni High School Batch '95 and Grade School Batch '91

Farin Residence

December 2018 | Provence, Camella Homes, Calumpit, Bulacan

Design Conceptualization

The project requires for the architectural interior of a second floor unit with an area of 42 square meters, covering three bedrooms and one full bath

The Site

Located at Provence Camella Homes, the aim is to give a modern touch but inspiring a mood of relaxation and good sleep. As well as give space-saving solutions to every room in a very limited space.

The Plan

Because the shared bathroom is inside the master's bedroom, the master's bedroom door has to be relocated to give a separate access to the children’s bedrooms and thus giving more privacy as well

The walls and ceilings are repainted, each room with the owner’s choice of color scheme Additional lighting fixtures were also mounted with electrical, cable, and outlet wirings

Finishing the floor finish with laminated wood for a modern and warm touch.

The aim is to deliver a layout that will maximize the area with shop fit-outs for practical storage spaces.

And a fresh face lift of interior finishes for a modern look and yet warm and welcoming.

Interior Finish

December 2018 | Farin Residence

Designed and installed with custom-built closets fitted to the users’ needs and specifications in all bedrooms. Mirrors are installed at the sliding cabinet doors for practical purposes and gives the illusion of extended space. The full ceiling height is maximized for additional storage headroom.

Children’s existing beds are modified with bespoke pull-out beds. Tailor-made for both rooms are study tables with lighting design and storage shelves Boy’s closet is also provided with display shelves with see-thru glass doors.

The master’s bedroom had their own-tailored closet dresser with display shelves and mirror. A lighted headboard is also assembled for the master’s new bed. Floor finishing on bedroom floors and hallway is laminated wood

The bathroom was repainted and fitted with new sanitary fittings and lighting fixtures and custom-fit with storage cabinet and glass display shelves.

The completed project came out with a brighter and comfortable living space that the Clients loved.
