Lady Bulldogs beat Blue Ridge, 9-6

The Howe Lady Bulldogs (3-13-1) traveled to Blue Ridge for a district game and walked away with a huge win for the ballclub. Howe got on the board in the first inning when Chloe Scoggins reached on an error that scored Emery Snapp. The score held true until the fourth inning when Snapp singled home Ryleigh Craven. Craven pitched an excellent three innings, allowing only one earned run on four hits and struck out four while not allowing a walk. She was relieved by Railyn Murphy who pitched four innings allowing only two earned runs. She allowed six hits and one walk while striking out two.

Blue Ridge tied the game in the bottom of the fourth at 2-2 and an inning later added three runs to give them a 52 lead. But in the top of the sixth, freshman Kennadi Barrett reached on an error that scored Murphy, Snapp, and Jocee McCullar which tied the game 5-5. Howe then took the lead when Shelbee Taylor reached on an error that scored Payton Stapleton. Blue Ridge tied the game in the sixth, but Howe answered right back to regain the lead 7-6 when Murphy scored on an error. Barrett then drove in two runs on a hard single. Barrett had three hits in the game to lead Howe. The next game is scheduled for Tuesday at home at 7 pm versus Bells.
