Four Bulldogs take all-district honors

The Howe Bulldogs, who just finished a historic basketball season, also fared well at the all-district meetings. Senior guard Luke Lopez was named Co-Defensive Player of the Year while senior Zak Defrange was named Sixth Man of the Year. Junior Austin Haley and Sophomore Jacob Campbell were placed on the First Team All-District team. Senior Eli Wilson was given Honorable Mention. Academic All-District Howe members

were Defrange, Haley, Campbell, and Wilson.

Regional Powerlifting Seven girls from Howe competed at the regional powerlifting meet on Saturday. They included senior Jaylynn Huff, junior Jenna Clark, and sophomores Jaycie Grisham, Kayley Laubhan, Kimberly Gonzalez, Victoria Martinez, and Catelyn Armstrong. Grisham finished first in the 148 pound weight class and will advance to state. She broke the regional squat record when she lifted 345 pounds and then set a new mark when she pushed up 355. Jenna Clark placed third in the 105 pound weight class. Every girl hit personal records at the meet.
