Voter turnout for Grayson County was virtually the same as March 2020 with 24.56 percent of the county turning out to vote. Turnout for Republicans were up from 14,119 to 19,523, an increase of 38 percent while Democrats saw an enormous 62 percent decrease in turnout from 5,964 to 2,268 compared to 2020.

State Representative, District 62 between Reggie Smith and Shelley Luther became a typical sophomoric dirty game of political mailers and sleezy television/internet commercials. Luther, who came to national fame when being arrested for opening her business during the COVID19 lockdown, challenged

Perhaps the most visible race in the county was the seat for Grayson County Judge where Bill Magers has held office since 2014. He was challenged by Sherman Assistant Police Chief Bruce Dawsey who made the announcement midway through December. Magers, who has run the county effectively through fiduciary policy, has also had numerous run-ins with law enforcement throughout the years which ultimately contributed to his handedly removal by the voters by a count of 12,273 to 6,800. Howe’s Jaycie Grisham sets regional powerlifting record

Harley Brockelman, a senior at Howe High School won the Silver Shears Supreme Award at the Houston Livestock Show Breeding Sheep Show. This is the third year in a row she has won this award which is calculated by the exhibitor that has won the most prize money over all breeds in the breeding sheep show. Brockelman has shown sheep since she was eight years old. She raises three breeds of sheep,
