ROAD TO REGIONALS! ROAD TO REGIONALS! ROAD TO REGIONALS!

As HOSA regionals took place in the month of January, students diligently prepared for battle. Students geared up by collaborating closely with teachers and other peers for weeks to refine their knowledge and skills. Various students made sacrifices and attended afterschool lessons, going through intensive study sessions, practice exams, and mock scenarios to ensure they were well-equipped for the upcoming competition at Robert Morgan Educational Center.

their skills development.

The energy that was generated throughout these weeks was illuminating. Our Students were all maximally prepared and we were all ready to get the show on the road!

Our teachers played a crucial role in guiding the students as they prepared, by offering their insights and creating conducive learning environments to ensure their maximum potential was achieved.

As Regionals grew closer, the collective effort of students and teachers reflected the grand commitment to excellence for our students education and

REEF AT REGIONALS REEF AT REGIONALS REEF AT REGIONALS

On January 20th, many of our students attended HOSA Regionals at the Robert Morgan Educational Center. Everyone made sure to come dressed in their proper attire and supplies for this incredible event. All that was left to do was wait for the gates to open, and our students were pumped up and ready to head into their competitions. When we were let into Robert Morgan, everyone was given directions on where to go and where to prepare. As our students competed, many were anxious but excited to get it done, and with prior encouraging words from many of our teachers, especially our HOSA advisor, Mrs. Blake, we were ready to go. We know many of our students did amazing, and we hope to keep seeing them advance in their respective health programs and make our HOSA club the best it can be.

Blood Drive Blood Drive

On January 17th, Coral Reef hosted their third blood drive of the year! Through the committee and willing donors, we were able to raise more blood to help those who needed it. These OneBlood Blood Drives are held annually at Coral Reef Senior High to find willing donors who are willing to donate a small portion of their own blood. This gift of life is used to support our healthcare system and make sure that patients who are dealing with trauma, surgery, cancer, and other medical conditions have a good chance of recovering. We still have two more drives to go, and with the help of willing donors, we can create a positive impact in many lives and develop a sense of altruism and giving in students. We hope we can count on more students for our next drives to continue our mission of helping people!

Every February, we celebrate American Heart Month. This month is used to promote heart-healthy lifestyles and encourage all people to prioritize their cardiovascular health. As the leading cause of death in the United States, heart disease is not something we take lightly. As it began with President Lyndon B. Johnson first issuing the proclamation in 1964, every President since that has annually declared February American Heart Month. During the month of February, many organizations such as the AHA, CDC, and others promote the importance of heart health and the general wellbeing. The need for more research on the different causes and preventions of health disease is also an important factor of why this awareness also takes place. With healthier lifestyles, healthier diets, healthier habits, and more, we can maintain our hearts healthy!
