OUR NEW CHAPTER This school year of 20232024, our HOSA chapter registered over 400 students! We are so excited to work with all of them and get them as far as possible in each and every one of their competitions. This past October, we held a meeting for all members, which allowed the board members to go over the very important dates and details of HOSA leading up to ILC. We explained their testing dates, regionals at Robert Morgan, States in Orlando, and the chance of ILC in Texas. We are hosting another member meeting this November 30th, in which we will congratulate all members and explain other details about what to expect after competing and what to look forward to. We cannot wait for what is to come for our Coral Reef HOSA chapter and all of our students. We are very proud and grateful for everyone who participated and for those teachers who offered their support to help our club!

Getting Ready! As HOSA testing begins this month of November, students are diligently preparing for HOSA Districts, by collaborating closely with teachers and other peers to refine their knowledge and skills. Many students have attended afterschool lessons and have gone through intensive study sessions, practice exams, and mock scenarios to ensure they are well-equipped for the upcoming competition. Teachers play a crucial role in guiding students, offering insights, and creating a conducive learning environment. As the event approaches, the collective effort of students and teachers reflects a commitment to excellence in healthcare education and skills development.
Through the dates of November 29th–December 1st, we hope our students can showcase their dedication and hard work that they invested in preparation. As the testing date draws near, the collective eagerness underscores a shared commitment to showcasing knowledge and skills in the healthcare arena.
Our New Shirt! Presenting our 20232024 HOSA shirt! We decided on this design through a voting form that allowed for HOSA members to vote on their favorite designs, which were submitted by some of their peers, and from there, this shirt was the majority vote! We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Blood Drive On November 15th, Coral Reef hosted their second blood drive of the year! Through the committee and willing donors, we were able to raise more blood to help those who needed it. These OneBlood Blood Drives are held annually at Coral Reef Senior High to find willing donors who are willing to donate a small portion of their own blood. This gift of life is used to support our healthcare system and make sure that patients who are dealing with trauma, surgery, cancer, and other medical conditions have a good chance of recovering. We still have two more drives to go, and with the help of willing donors, we can create a positive impact in many lives and develop a sense of altruism and giving in students. We hope we can count on more students for our next drives to continue our mission of helping people!
This was my second time doing it and I was definitely less afraid this time around. But I’m glad I did it and that I did it with my friends!

Every October, we recognize those who battled, have been diagnosed, and are still battling breast cancer. Throughout October, many foundations and charities, as well as individuals, focused on bringing awareness to receiving screenings to detect breast cancer and improving support for treatment, prevention, and research. Each year, more than 200,000 individuals are diagnosed in the US, and of those, about 43,000 will die from it. Though it is mostly diagnosed in women, 1 in 8 males can also be affected. Thus, it is important to get a screening whenever you can and show your support through the color pink and donations to help fight against this cancer. Wear Pink!
Every November, we commemorate Diabetes Awareness Month, which provides a key platform for raising awareness of the widespread effects of diabetes around the world. The International Diabetes Federation estimates that 463 million people worldwide have diabetes, and by 2045, that figure is predicted to increase to 700 million. In order to effectively manage this chronic condition, the campaign highlights the significance of early detection, prevention, and education. The month-long initiative aims to raise awareness, encourage healthy lifestyles, and push for improved accessibility to care and services for anyone impacted by this progressively prevalent health issue. Wear Blue!
