Meet Our New Office Manager

Melissa Bennett started part-time in Adult/Teen services in 2013, while also working full-time at Samford Law Library. Her love of libraries led her to apply for and accept the full-time Office Manager job. Melissa has a paralegal certificate and is currently working on a second degree in organizational leadership. Here are a few of Melissa’s favorite books:

Meet Our New Library Board Member

Megan Cheek is excited to join the Homewood Library Board as its Ward 4 representative. Megan has been a member of the Homewood Library Foundation for the past five years and her favorite event ever is the annual Block Party. For her day job, Megan serves as the Communications and Development Director for Alabama Appleseed Center for Law and Justice where she confronts unjust systems through research, bridge building, and advocacy to create an Alabama that prioritizes justice and opportunity. Document Shredding & Electronics Recycling

Gone For Good’s shredding truck will be on site to destroy your sensitive documents and files. Limit of two bags or boxes of documents per person. Paper will be shredded, and boxes returned. Protec Recycling will also be on hand to take and recycle your old computers, household electronics, small appliances and other items. Secure cell phone destruction for $5, hard drive destruction on-site for $10. Flat panel TV’s will not be accepted at this time.
