WA’s brightest hockey stars are set to compete in one of the world’s best domestic competitions in the upcoming Hockey WA Premier League, with the men’s competition commencing from Friday 8 April and the women’s from Tuesday 12 April. A plethora of Hockeyroos and Kookaburras will take part in this year’s competition, ahead of the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and the Women’s FIH World Cup in Spain and Netherlands, as well as local WA hockey heroes, showcasing the stars of hockey from across Australia in a season comprising of 231 matches. 12 teams in the men’s and 10 in the women’s competitions, comprising of stars such as Kookaburras Aran Zalewski, James Collins and Ben Rennie and Hockeyroos Karri Somerville, Georgia Wilson and Shanea Tonkin, will fight for glory and bragging rights as champions of WA hockey.
