FAQ ONBOARD EXPENSE ACCOUNT Setting Up Your Account If you did not set up an account during Online Check-In or during boarding in the cruise terminal, you can do so in the Royal App or at the Guest Services Desk on Deck 4. Onboard Expense Accounts can be set up with a credit card, a debit card, or cash. Our ships utilize a cashless system, so your SeaPass card will be the only way to make purchases while onboard. Please note that a temporary hold of $99.75 will be placed on your card to verify funds. Onboard purchases over $100 will generate additional holds. The hold will be released within 3 to 5 business days after your cruise ends, but can take up to 30 days, depending on your bank. The cruise terminal of Bridgetown has duty–free (jewelry, clothing, souvenirs and crafts). There’s also a tourist information desk and a telecommunication center with internet and postal services. Pointe Seraphine Cruise Port is around a 1 mile north of Castries. A leisurely walk along the waterfront to the center of Castries will not take more than 20 minutes. Licensed taxis are available at the parking (main exit of the terminal). The Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception is around 20 minutes walk from the port and is said to be the largest church in the Caribbean. Other landmarks such as the La Toc Battery, the St Marks Colonial House or Governors House are relatively close by but not within walking distance. The Eastern Caribbean (EC) dollar is used in St Lucia and can be obtained at any bank. Most places accept US dollars, but change will be given in EC dollars. Most hotels, restaurants and larger stores accept credit cards, but local stores seldom do. Getting around in Philipsburg, St. Maarten

From the port of St. Maarten takes around 20 minutes to get to the heart of the colorful town of Philipsburg located 1 mile away from the pier. You can do this by taking a scenic walk on the Philipsburg boardwalk or go sightseeing and window– shopping on the waterfront street a block behind the boardwalk. Water taxis are available in the port, and regular taxis at the port entrance. The official local currency is the Antillean guilder (ANG) and has been fixed to the US Dollar at approximately 1.80 ANG to 1USD for over 35 years. The US Dollar is accepted everywhere on the island. Local currency and US Dollar ATM machines (Maestro/Cirrus) are situated throughout the island. Although the official language is Dutch, English is widely spoken. Points of interest: Great Bay Beach and Fort Amsterdam.
