Tips for an easy departure

Here’s how to make your departure experience as seamless as possible. You can also check out channel 2 on your stateroom television for a video overview of this process.

We’ve implemented a more gradual flow for our departure process.

• Staterooms must be fully vacated no later than 8:00 am. After you’ve enjoyed breakfast, please head to your designated departure lounge until your departure number is announced or displayed on the ship’s digital screens.

• All guests have been assigned a specific departure group and time. We’ve done our best to schedule your departure at a convenient time for you. You will be notified of your departure time on channel 2 on your stateroom television until 8:00 am, and wayfinding maps and digital screens throughout the ship. This is where our schedule will be continually updated. We ask you to verify the schedule on the television prior to leaving your stateroom. You can also review your departure information via the Royal Caribbean App for a quick and easy experience.

• To avoid the large crowds and the long wait times, take advantage of our Self-Assist program (see details below) or our airport transfer services. Royal Caribbean transfers will be available at the terminal to get you to the airport right on time. Book yours today with Guest Services by noon the day before departure.

Self-Assist Departure

Avoid the wait by keeping all your luggage with you as you depart the ship. Assigned departure times begin at approximately 6:30 am and end at 9:00 am.

Note: This option is not available for guests requiring wheelchair assistance, Royal Caribbean airport transfers or shore excursions.

Departure morning

• Your invoice will be emailed to you at the end of your cruise vacation.

• Don’t forget valuables stored in your stateroom safe and leave the safe door open.

• You are free to depart as soon as the Self-Assist Departure announcement has been made.

Getting off the ship

• Tune to channel 2 on your stateroom television for the assigned departure times.

• Once the Self-Assist announcement is made or when you receive a notification via the Royal Caribbean App, proceed from your stateroom or departure lounge to the gangway on Deck 4 with all your luggage.

• Taxis are usually readily available outside the terminal.

Regular Departure

Take advantage of our luggage assistance provided on the night before departure. Assigned departure times begin at 7:00 am and end at 9:00 am approximately.

Night before

• If you are not choosing Self-Assist Departure, leave your bags with luggage tags attached outside your door by 10:00 pm. Remember to place the luggage tag on one of your carry-on bags so your departure group is clearly identified.

• Keep travel documents, valuables, and essential medications with you.

Note: Guests requiring wheelchair assistance, on Royal Caribbean airport transfers and shore excursions are required to check their bags the night before.

Departure morning

• Your invoice will be emailed to you by the end of your cruise vacation.

Getting off the ship

• If you are on a Royal Caribbean shore excursion, please refer to your tour ticket for meeting point and time details. You may collect your bags at the terminal.

• If you are taking independent transportation, claim your baggage at the area identified by the number on your luggage tag at the terminal, then proceed to your transportation. Taxis will be readily available.

• If you require wheelchair assistance, please inform Guest Services by dialing 0 to schedule a time and receive more instruction.

• Please note that wait times at the terminal will be longer for guests traveling with birth certificates instead of passports.

How do I close out my tab?

The credit card you provided at check-in will be automatically charged. You can also add additional gratuities to your SeaPass card Account at Guest Services or leave cash.

There will be a hold when you link your credit card to your onboard account. The hold is used to secure funds for anticipated onboard purchases and will be released at the end of the sailing once your final charges are settled.

Customs Allowance

• Guests are subject to the Customs Allowance of their country.

• U.S. guests (returning to the U.S.) need to declare purchases that exceed $800 USD per person and if they bring in over 200 cigarettes, 100 non-Cuban cigars, and 1 liter of alcohol.

• Canadian guests (returning to Canada) need to declare purchases that exceed $800 CAD per person, and if they bring in over 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars, 100g of tobacco, 40ox of liquor or 51oz of wine or 24 12ox bottles or cans of beer/ale.

Setting Up Your Account

If you did not set up an account during Online Check-In or during boarding in the cruise terminal, you can do so in the Royal App or at the Guest Services Desk on Deck 4. Onboard Expense Accounts can be set up with a credit card, a debit card, or cash. Our ships utilize a cashless system, so your SeaPass card will be the only way to make purchases while onboard. Please note that a temporary hold of $99.75 will be placed on your card to verify funds. Onboard purchases over $100 will generate additional holds. The hold will be released within 3 to 5 business days after your cruise ends, but can take up to 30 days, depending on your bank. You may add other guests to your expense account by visiting the Guest Services desk. A daily limit can be placed on arcade spending. All charges can be viewed in the Royal Caribbean App. Printed receipts will be provided for each onboard purchase. A final statement will be e-mailed to you within 24 hours of departing the ship on the last day of your cruise. How much are gratuities?

If not already pre-paid, a $16.00 gratuity ($18.50 for Suite guests) is added to each guest's onboard account daily to help recognize superior service from crew during your cruise. This gratuity is shared among dining & culinary services sta , stateroom attendants, and other hotel services teams working behind the scenes. In addition to daily gratuities, an 18% gratuity is automatically added to all beverage, mini bar items, specialty dining, and spa & salon purchases.

Getting around in Reykjavik, Iceland

The Ship’s terminal is approximately 3km east of the downtown. Shuttles are available from 1:00 pm and take you into the Harpa Concert Hall in the City Centre and the last bus from the Harpa Concert Hall back to the ship leaves at 9:30 pm, or you can take a long but pleasant walk (30 minutes) by following the paved path by the water. *Shuttle buses are not operated by Royal Caribbean. The downtown area is fairly small and walkable. City Sightseeing operates hop on, hop off buses. The Icelandic crown (kr, ISK) is the currency of Iceland. All Icelandic banks provide foreign currency exchange and credit cards are widely accepted.

If you did not set up an account during Online Check-In or during boarding in the cruise terminal, you can do so in the Royal App or at the Guest Services Desk on Deck 4. Onboard Expense Accounts can be set up with a credit card, a debit card, or cash. Our ships utilize a cashless system, so your SeaPass card will be the only way to make purchases while onboard. Please note that a temporary hold of $99.75 will be placed on your card to verify funds. Onboard purchases over $100 will generate additional holds. The hold will be released within 3 to 5 business days after your cruise ends, but can take up to 30 days, depending on your bank. Tips for an easy departure

Here’s how to make your departure experience as seamless as possible. You can also check out channel 7 on your stateroom television for a video overview of this process.

We’ve implemented a more gradual flow for our departure process.

• Staterooms must be fully vacated no later than 8:00 am. After you’ve enjoyed breakfast, please head to your designated departure lounge until your departure number is announced or displayed on the ship’s digital screens.

• All guests have been assigned a specific departure group and time. We’ve done our best to schedule your departure at a convenient time for you. You will be notified of your departure time on channel 2 on your stateroom television until 8:00 am, wayfinding maps and digital screens throughout the ship. This is where our schedule will be continually updated. We ask you to verify the schedule on the television prior to leaving your stateroom. You can also review your departure information via the Royal Caribbean App for a quick and easy experience.

• To avoid the large crowds and the long wait times, take advantage of our Self-Assist program (see details below) or our airport transfer services. Royal Caribbean transfers will be available at the terminal to get you to the airport right on time. Book yours today with Guest Services by noon the day before departure.

Self-Assist Departure

Avoid the wait by keeping all your luggage with you as you depart the ship. Assigned departure times begin at approximately 6:30 am and end at 8:00 am.

Note: This option is not available for guests requiring wheelchair assistance, Royal Caribbean airport transfers or shore excursions.

Departure morning

• Your invoice will be emailed to you at the end of your cruise vacation.

• Don’t forget valuables stored in your stateroom safe and leave the safe door open.

• You are free to depart as soon as the Self-Assist Departure announcement has been made.

Getting off the ship

• Tune to channel 2 on your stateroom television for the assigned departure times.

• Once the Self-Assist announcement is made or when you receive a notification via the Royal Caribbean App, proceed from your stateroom or departure lounge to the gangway on Deck 4 with all your luggage.

• Taxis are usually readily available outside the terminal.

Regular Departure

Take advantage of our luggage assistance provided on the night before departure. Assigned departure times begin at 7:00 am and end at 9:00 am approximately.

Night before

• If you are not choosing Self-Assist Departure, leave your bags with luggage tags attached outside your door by 10:00 pm. Remember to place the luggage tag on one of your carry-on bags so your departure group is clearly identified.

• Keep travel documents, valuables, and essential medications with you.

Note: Guests requiring wheelchair assistance, on Royal Caribbean airport transfers and shore excursions are required to check their bags the night before.

Departure morning

• Your invoice will be emailed to you by the end of your cruise vacation.

• Head to your designated departure lounge and proceed to the gangway once your departure time is called.

Getting off the ship

• Once your departure number is called on channel 2 on your stateroom television or when you receive a notification via the Royal Caribbean App, proceed from your stateroom or departure lounge to the gangway on Deck 4 using the elevators nearest to you.

• If you are on a Royal Caribbean shore excursion, please refer to your tour ticket for meeting point and time details. You may collect your bags at the terminal.

• If you are taking independent transportation, claim your baggage at the area identified by the number on your luggage tag at the terminal, then proceed to your transportation. Taxis will be readily available.

• If you require wheelchair assistance, please inform Guest Services by dialing 0 to schedule a time and receive more instruction.

• Please note that wait times at the terminal will be longer for guests traveling with birth certificates instead of passports.

How do I close out my tab?

The credit card you provided at check-in will be automatically charged. You can also add additional gratuities to your SeaPass card Account at Guest Services or leave cash.

There will be a hold when you link your credit card to your onboard account. The hold is used to secure funds for anticipated onboard purchases and will be released at the end of the sailing once your final charges are settled.

Customs Allowance

• Guests are subject to the Customs Allowance of their country.

• U.S. guests (returning to the U.S.) need to declare purchases that exceed $800 USD per person and if they bring in over 200 cigarettes, 100 non-Cuban cigars, and 1 liter of alcohol.

• Canadian guests (returning to Canada) need to declare purchases that exceed $800 CAD per person, and if they bring in over 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars, 100g of tobacco, 40ox of liquor or 51oz of wine or 24 12ox bottles or cans of beer/ale.

ONBOARD EXPENSE ACCOUNT

Setting Up Your Account

If you did not set up an account during Online Check-In or during boarding in the cruise terminal, you can do so in the Royal App or at the Guest Services Desk on Deck 4. Onboard Expense Accounts can be set up with a credit card, a debit card, or cash. Our ships utilize a cashless system, so your SeaPass card will be the only way to make purchases while onboard. Please note that a temporary hold of $99.75 will be placed on your card to verify funds. Onboard purchases over $100 will generate additional holds. The hold will be released within 3 to 5 business days after your cruise ends, but can take up to 30 days, depending on your bank. You may add other guests to your expense account by visiting the Guest Services desk. A daily limit can be placed on arcade spending. All charges can be viewed in the Royal Caribbean App. Printed receipts will be provided for each onboard purchase. A final statement will be e-mailed to you within 24 hours of departing the ship on the last day of your cruise. Guests on a cash account will need to settle their account at Guest Services prior to disembarking the ship.

Specialty Dining Reservations

Specialty Dining reservations can be made through the Royal Caribbean App. You may also dial 54 on your stateroom phone and select the restaurant you wish to dine in or visit the restaurant and make a reservation with the Maitre d' outside. The Maitre d' can also assist you with making changes to your seating.

Room Service

Continental breakfast is complimentary. Both the All-Day Menu and American Breakfast will have a delivery fee of $7.95 plus an 18% gratuity for each order. To view the menu, visit the Royal App. When you’re ready to order, dial [7000] from your stateroom phone.

DEPARTURE PROCESS

GRATUITIES

How much are gratuities?

If not already pre-paid, a $16.00 gratuity ($18.50 for Suite guests) is added to each guest's onboard account daily to help recognize superior service from crew during your cruise. This gratuity is shared among dining & culinary services sta , stateroom attendants, and other hotel services teams working behind the scenes. In addition to daily gratuities, an 18% gratuity is automatically added to all beverage, mini bar items, specialty dining, and spa & salon purchases.
