THE HILLSBORO CHRISTIAN

Volume 64 - APRIL 2024

SuperStart 2024

Thank you! So many of you made contributions to help make this event successful. For those of you who prayed, baked goodies for the bake sale, or donated money, I know I can speak for everyone when I say THANK YOU. Twenty-four students, along with eight adults, ventured out on March 15th to Lakeside Christian Church. We ended our time after SuperStart at Altitude Trampoline Park on Saturday, March 16th. If you are reading this, please continue praying for these young people. Our small group time was fantastic. A couple of students started asking about baptism.

Our main verse was Colossians 3:17 ERV

17 Everything you say and everything you do should be done for Jesus your Lord. And in all you do, give thanks to God the Father through Jesus.

Kingdom Worker: A Kingdom Worker is someone who uses their gifts, talents, abilities, and time to do something for God.

Session 1 Teaching: Kingdom Work is for Everyone (The Gospel is for Everyone)

Session 2 Teaching: Everything can be used for Kingdom Work

Session 3 Teaching: Kingdom Work is Everywhere

Students were challenged to take what they learned and share the Gospel with others.

With gratitude and love, Thank You,

Dear Hillsboro Church of Christ, thank you for supporting my trip to Q2024 in San Diego, California. Evangelism Workshop 2024! THIS WEEKEND

BEGINS AT 6:30 P.M. FRIDAY EVENING AND STARTS FRESH ON SATURDAY MORNING AT 8:30 A.M.

This year, Dr. Brett Seybold, director of Kontakt Apologetics (KAPOL) and author of Sui Generis: How the Biblical Portrait of Jesus Still Stands after Three Centuries of Negative Higher Criticism, will join us to discuss why and how to share our faith.

Friday night, Brett will tackle the topic "Why we MUST speak" to address why our Christian living must be accompanied by a presentation of who Jesus is in words that clearly communicate the Gospel.

We will look at "Presenting the Gospel in many lights" on Saturday morning through lunch. No one way of presenting the Gospel is far superior to all others; depending on the context or relationship, it is helpful to be prepared to share the truth in a way that is heard by the listener. Many have said that it is more important to answer the questioner rather than the question. This will provide us with some great methods to hear and respond well.

Sign up at hillsborochurch.net/evangelism-workshop along with $10.00 to hold your seat and cover the snacks on Friday, Breakfast, and lunch on Saturday! Come hungry to learn what we need to effectively share the Gospel and begin making disciples who make disciples!

On Sunday, March 3, 2024, four of our high school students gave their confession of faith and were baptized into Christ.

From left to right are : Savanna Trefz, Chanel Captain, Aveah Captain, and Tre Captain.

Welcome to the Family!

On March 8, Steve and Donna Henshaw were baptized into Christ. Praise the Lord for the promise of salvation found in His Son Jesus Christ!

We are rejoicing with Lucy Reno as she was immersed in Christ on Sunday morning, March 10th, by Megan Apgar. Lucy has been coming to church at HCC for about 5 years. It has been a blessing to see her grow in her faith. We will be praying for her as she continues her journey.

On March 17, Kirsten Peabody was baptized into Christ. Praise God for the promise of salvation that is found in Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38-39). Let us rejoice in this decision and continue praying for others who need to do the same.

On March 21st, Katie Streber was baptized in Christ. What a great joy it is to experience new life in Jesus (Romans 6:3-4). Blessed be the name of the Lord!

On March 19, Isaac and Kora Jefferis were baptized into Christ. We are so excited for both of them, and can't wait to see what God has in store for them. Let us rejoice as a church family that God continues to answer the prayers of His people!

Meet Aiden Jenkins and Ian Karnes. These young men were baptized by their friend and mentor Scott Amos during second service on Sunday, March 24. Please take a chance to encourage them as they begin down the next steps of the journey of their faith!
