MESSAGE FROM BILL HUGHES

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER & GENERAL MANAGER

Dear Glen Kernan Club Members,

It is my pleasure to share with you the first edition of our Glen Kernan Quarterly Newsletter. This new communication will serve as an ongoing update from my office, designed to keep you informed about the latest news, events, and accomplishments of our Club.

First and foremost, I want to revisit the incredible response we continue to receive following the grand opening of our golf course in August. The comments from Members and Guests have been overwhelmingly positive, and it is a source of great pride for all of us who have been a part of this journey. A special word of thanks goes to Joe Williams, our Golf Course Superintendent, whose tireless work and leadership were instrumental in bringing the course to life. Joe and his team devoted themselves fully during construction and course preparation, and the results speak for themselves. While we still have projects and refinements ahead, I assure you that every item is being addressed with care and precision.

I am also incredibly proud to share that our official course rating has been finalized in spectacular fashion: a back tee course rating of 76.1 with a slope rating of 147 (just shy of the maximum 155) . The test from the back tees will challenge even the most accomplished player, while our forward tees provide options that ensure the course is fair, enjoyable, and fun for every level of golfer.

Across the Club, we continue to receive glowing reviews of our food and beverage team and culinary operation. Your kind words about the service and quality have meant a great deal to our staff. I encourage each of you to make dining at the Club part of your routine. Consistent Member support

is critical to sustaining the talent we have assembled in the kitchen and service teams. Please let us know how we can encourage you and your family to join us more often—we welcome your feedback.

Our community is thriving well beyond golf. I continue to be deeply impressed by the work of Aline Berkenbrock, our Director of Racquet Sports, and Dustin Swinney, our Director of Wellness and Fitness, as well as the enthusiastic participation of our Members in both programs. These amenities add vibrancy to our Club and strengthen the sense of connection that makes Glen Kernan so special.

This is also an important stage in our Club’s growth. Golf Memberships remain available, and now is the perfect time to share the Glen Kernan experience with friends you would like to see join our community. While a waitlist is not yet in place, it is only a matter of time before that moment arrives. I encourage you to extend invitations and introduce others to the Club before that opportunity passes.

Finally, I would like to thank each of you for your patience, support, and personal connection to Glen Kernan. Together, we are building something truly extraordinary, and I am honored to share this journey with you.

With great respect and appreciation,

Club News

MESSAGE FROM PATTY BEATTY

MEMBERSHIP EXPERIENCE DIRECTOR

Dear Members,

Welcome to the very first edition of our quarterly newsletter! This is an exciting moment as we embark on this new journey together. I want to personally thank you for being part of our inaugural membership. Your support, enthusiasm, and participation are what will make your Club truly special.

Having been at the Club prior to the renovations, it is especially meaningful for me to see the transformation we’ve undergone. The beautiful renovations of our amenities, along with the incredible work Jim Furyk has done in redesigning our golf course, have truly elevated the entire experience. It’s inspiring to witness the new chapter we are creating together in such a stunning setting.

As we grow, we hope that Glen Kernan Club becomes a place where memories are made, friendships flourish, and everyone feels at home. Whether you’re enjoying the amenities, attending events, or simply spending time with friends and family, it’s your presence that brings our community to life.

If you have friends, neighbors, or family members you think would enjoy being part of the Glen Kernan Club, I would love the chance to welcome them personally. There’s nothing more

special than sharing this community with the people you care about most, and together we can continue to build a place that feels like home for all.

I look forward to seeing you soon at one of the upcoming Glen Kernan events. They’re the perfect opportunity to meet fellow members, spend quality time together, and create lasting memories.

Thank you again for being part of this journey. I’m so excited to share in the memories, friendships, and experiences we will create together.

Warm Regards,

Club News

AS WE CONTINUE TO EVOLVE TOWARD FULL OPERATIONAL STATUS IN THE COMING MONTHS, THERE ARE SEVERAL IMPORTANT TOPICS WE’D LIKE TO BRING TO YOUR ATTENTION:

Glen Kernan Club Guest Policy Reminder

All Guests must be accompanied by a Member during their visit. An accompanied Guest may use the Athletic Club and Golf Course no more than a total of six (6) times per calendar year, unless otherwise pre-approved by the Club. Each Member may host up to four (4) accompanied Guests per visit— with the exception of the fitness facility, where the limit is one (1) Guest per Member per visit. Golf members can request to host unaccompanied Guests on a limited basis and are encouraged to reach out to the Golf Shop or visit the Club’s mobile app for more details.

Immediate Family Access

Lineal descendants of a Member (e.g., children and grandchildren who fall outside the official definition of “Immediate Family” per the Membership Plan) may use the Athletic Club and Golf facilities no more than 12 times per calendar year. Please note that this policy does not extend to lineal ascendants (parents, grandparents, etc).

Use of the Sports Fields and Courts

As many of you are aware, organized practices and games have historically taken place on the soccer field and basketball courts. While we appreciate the tradition and sense of community that these activities represent, all organized events that require full use of these areas must be discontinued going forward. Our reasoning is simple: these facilities are designed to be enjoyed freely by all Members. When a large group occupies the entire space, it limits access and fairness to others. As we transition, we are prioritizing open access, flexibility, and inclusivity for all our Members.

Fitness & Lifestyle Amenities

With the Clubhouse, Athletic Club, Swimming Pool, Tennis Courts, and Athletic Club Café fully operational, we encourage you to share the benefits of Glen Kernan Club with friends and family. Now is a great time to consider sharing information about our Sports Social Membership, currently available for a one-time initiation fee of $25,000 and a monthly fee of $550, with those you would like to be part of your Club family. Please contact Patty Beatty directly for further information.

Glen Kernan Standard

Please review our dress code, course care guidelines, and other Membership standards under “Glen Kernan Standard” in the “Club Documents” section of the mobile app or under the “Documents” section in the online Member portal.

GOLF TIPS FROM JOHNNY RANDOLPH

Tips From The Tee

For some, this checklist may seem like a lot, but once you make it a habit, you’ll work through these factors in less than 30 seconds. Consider this example—we have a 150-yard shot, but we’re only trying to land the ball 140 yards. This number takes into account all the factors above. When you step into the ball, forget the number to the flag and focus only on your adjusted carry number.

Pre-Shot Steps

1. How far to the flag? This is your starting point. Use your laser range finder, GPS, or step off the distance from the sprinkler heads. For this example, we are 150 yards to the pin from the fairway.

2. Where do I want to land it? If the pin is tucked in the back of the green and there is trouble long. Take 5 yards off the 150. Our new number is now 145 yards. If the green is firm, take another 5 yards off, bringing the effective carry number to 140 yards.

3. Is the shot uphill or downhill? For example, let’s say it’s playing a little uphill and estimate 5 yards. The new number is now 145 yards.

4. Evaluate the wind: If there is a lot of help or hurt, this could be as much as 10 – 20 yards. Let’s say slightly downwind. Adjust the yardage back to 140 yards.

5. Read the lie: If the ball is sitting up in the rough, grass will get between the ball and the clubface. This reduces the spin on the ball and is what we call a flyer, subtracting 5 to 10 yards of distance. If the ball is sitting down deep in the rough, it could come out dead, add 10 yards. In our case, we’re in the fairway, so we’re sticking to our 140-yard number.

PRACTICE FACILITY

The Glen Kernan Practice Facility is officially open, exclusive to Golf Members. This space is designed to help you sharpen your game and prepare for a season of exceptional golf.

As you enjoy the facility, we kindly ask that you support turf care by practicing with vertical line divot patterns— rather than scatter or block patterns. This simple technique greatly enhances turf recovery, ensuring the best possible conditions for everyone.

We look forward to welcoming you out for practice, preparation and an outstanding fall season at Glen Kernan.

GLEN KERNAN CLUB

From the Courts

MESSAGE FROM ALINE BERKENBROCK

DIRECTOR OF RACQUET SPORTS

Dear Members,

The courts are buzzing as we roll into fall at Glen Kernan, and the new season of tennis and pickleball is already in full swing.

On the tennis side, we’re excited to announce a full lineup of teams: four ladies’ Country Club teams (A3, B1, B2, and C2) , three First Coast teams, two men’s teams, and two Working Women’s teams. It’s shaping up to be another great year of matches, rallies, and team spirit — and we’re still looking to add players to all rosters. If you’ve been thinking about getting involved, now’s the perfect time to jump in.

For those wanting more ways to stay active outside of team play, we’ve expanded our clinic schedule. Thursday nights now feature kids’ clinics for ages 4–13 and a co-ed clinic open to 3.0 and 3.5 players who cannot attend daytime practice. Cardio Tennis on Friday mornings remains a high-energy favorite and a great way to start the weekend with movement and music.

Over on the pickleball courts, the energy is nonstop. From beginners to advanced players, we offer classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and there’s always room for new faces. Whether you’re experienced or brand new, we’d love to see you on court.

Be sure to keep an eye out for our inaugural Member-Member Tournament, taking place from November 7 - 9. This will be one of the highlights of the season — a weekend packed with great competition, food, and fun for all.

Glen Kernan’s racquet sports program keeps growing, and there’s truly a place for everyone. Don’t hesitate to reach out or stop by, as we’d love to welcome you on court this season.

Fitness Challenge - Bulgarian Split Squat

MESSAGE FROM DUSTIN SWINNEY

DIRECTOR OF FITNESS

Exercise Benefits

The Bulgarian Split Squat is a powerful unilateral (singleleg) exercise that targets the quads, glutes, and core while improving balance, stability, and mobility. It’s a favorite among athletes and trainers for building lower-body strength and fixing muscular imbalances.

Excercise Steps

1. Stand a few feet in front of a bench or step.

2. Place the top of one foot on the bench behind you.

3. Lower your back knee toward the floor, keeping your front knee stacked over your ankle.

4. Push through your front heel to return to standing.

5. Do 3 sets of 8–12 reps per leg.

Coaching Tips

Keep your chest tall and core braced. Avoid letting your front knee cave inward. Start with bodyweight and progress to dumbbells or a barbell.

Bonus Challenge

Add a pause at the bottom of each rep for 2 seconds to increase time under tension.

RELAX. RECOVER. REPEAT.

TUESDAY - THURSDAY | 10AM - 7PM

FRIDAY - SATURDAY | 8AM - 5PM

Members are invited to enjoy complimentary access to the sauna, cold plunge, and compression therapy sessions during staffed service hours.

RECIPE FROM SEAN VAN DEN BERG

EXECUTIVE CHEF

Enjoy this delicious Chimichurri Recipe from Chef Sean van den Berg. This is classic sauce from Argentina and can be made in many different ways. This is the way we prepare it here at the Glen Kernan Clubhouse.

ARGENTINIAN-STYLE CHIMICHURRI

Yield: 2 Cups | Servings: 12-16 | Total Time: 10-12 Minutes

Ingredients

• Fresh Picked Oregano - ¼ Cup

• Chopped Garlic - 2 Tablespoons

• Red Wine Vinegar - ½ Cup

• Ground Cumin - 1 Teaspoon

• Chili Flake - 1 Teaspoon (omit if you don’t want spice)

• Fresh Parsley - 1 Cup

• Smoked Paprika - 1 Teaspoon

• Kosher Salt - To Taste

• Fresh Ground Black Pepper - To Taste

• Extra Virgin Olive Oil (E.V.O.O.) - 1 Cup

Instructions

1. Place all ingredients into the blender minus the E.V.O.O.

2. Blend until smooth and slowly start to drizzle in the E.V.O.O.

3. Make sure the blender doesn’t run for too long because it will heat the sauce and cause it to break

4. Once all the EVOO has been added, taste and adjust the seasoning to your liking

5. Store it in a sealed container; this will remain fresh for about a week in your refrigerator
