Input/Output Signals of the AML (AML-L B) System (GR-700EXL-1)

CN2 connector signals and functions are shown below:

CN 2 connector

Pin No. name

Signal names and functions

Signal name: Automatic stop relay output

This relay contact turns OFF and stops crane operation when the crane is overloaded, the hook is overwound or the AML main unit is out of order.

Relay ON (DC24V): Normal operation is available.

Relay OFF (DC0V): The crane operation is stopped.

Relay output Crane condition

ON Moment ratio < 90%

ON 90% Moment ratio < 100%

Moment ratio 100%

While boom lift with the jib mounted is performed, the crane operation stops autmatically when the load moment ratio reaches the ranges listed below, depending on the outrigger extension width.

Maximum (7.2m)

The crane movement going beyond the restriction while working range limit is registered.

Failure in the AML unit.

OFF Operated to critical side when backward stability control activated.

Signal name: AML alarm relay output

This relay contact turns ON and outputs alarm buzzer when the crane is overloaded.

Relay ON (DC24V): Alarm buzzer is output.

Relay OFF (DC0V): Alarm buzzer is not output.

Relay output condition OFF Moment ratio < 90% 90% Moment ratio < 100%

While boom lift with the jib mounted is performed, the alarm buzzer is output when the load moment ratio reaches the ranges listed below, depending on the outrigger extension width.

Signal names and functions

Signal name: Telescoping control relay output

When the boom length is extended or retracted beyond the specified length, this relay contact turns ON/OFF and the 3rd /top boom sections or 2nd boom section extend or retract.

Relay ON (DC24V): 3rd top boom sections extend or retract.

Relay OFF (DC0V): 2nd boom section extend or retract.

Signal name: Overwinding alarm relay output

This relay contact turns ON and the alarm buzzer is output when the hook block is overwinding.

Relay ON (DC24V): Alarm buzzer is output.

Relay OFF (DC0V): Alarm buzzer is not output.

Signal name: Main winch hoist-up operation detector switch input

Input from the switch detecting hoist-up operation of the main winch.

Switch ON (DC0V): No hoist-up operation of the main winch is detected.

Switch OFF (DC5V): Hoist-up operation of the main winch is detected.

Signal name: Aux. winch hoist-up operation detector switch input

Input from the switch detecting hoist-up operation of the auxiliary winch.

Switch ON (DC0V): No hoist-up operation of the auxiliary winch is detected.

Switch OFF (DC5V): Hoist-up operation of the auxiliary winch is detected.

Signal name: Right swing proportional control valve output

Current controlled by the AML is output from the AML to the right swing proportional control valve when the right swing is stopped by automatic swing stop. However, in the following conditions, the automatic swing stop does not activate.

(1) Swing stop/override switch is set to “OVERRIDE”.

(2) Outriggers are not extended.

(3) AML emergency switch is set to “Emergency” and the PTO switch is set to “OVERRIDE”.

Output voltage: Square wave 0 to 24V

Crane condition that causes the automatic swing stop

The moment ratio exceeds 100% due to right swing while the extension widths of four outriggers are different.

The moment ratio reaches 90% or more (not 100%) while the boom lift with the jib mounted is performed.

When the jib set pin is out of inserted condition, the AML assumes that the jib is mounted.

The crane operation exceeds the right swing limit when the swing stop limit is registered.

Signal name: Ground terminal for right swing proportional control valve

Input voltage: DC0V
