Removal and Installation of Engine Sensors

[7]Use a box wrench (17 mm) to loosen the alternator (5) tension bolt (10). [8]Remove the fan belt from the alternator (5).

[9]While slowly turning the fan (11), pass the fan belt (12) over the 5 one at a time and remove it.

2.Fan Belt Installation

To install, perform the reverse of the removal procedure.

After replacing the fan belt (12), it is necessary to adjust the belt tension.

For bolts for which the torque is not specified, check page1 of the "About This Shop Manual Section • Tightening Torque • Retightening Torque

Table" in the explanation in the materials. [1]Use a box wrench (17 mm) to tighten the alternator (5) tension bolt (10). [2]Adjust the fan belt (12) so that when the center section of the belt is pressed with a finger, it deflects about 1 cm. (*1) (See the diagram on the right.) [3]Securely fasten the nut (9). [4]Use a box wrench (17 mm) to securely tighten the lower installation bolt (7). •Tighten the lower installation bolt (7) with a closed wrench or wrench (17 mm) while holding the nut (6).
