Removal and Installation of EGR Cooler and EGR Valve

Air Conditioner Belt Replacement

Caution ・ Be sure to stop the engine before beginning work.

Items to prepare •Wrench (19 mm) •Box wrench (14 mm) •Rags •Cleaning fluid 1.Air Conditioner Belt Removal [1]Use a wrench (19 mm) to remove the 4 bolts (2), and then remove the under cover (1).

Bolt tightening torque for installation: 68.6 ± 4.9 N•m

[2]Use a box wrench (14 mm) to loosen the nut (3).

[3]Use a box wrench (14 mm) to loosen the tension bolt (4).

[4]Remove the air conditioner belt (6) from the tension pulley (5).

2.Air Conditioner Belt Installation

To install, perform the reverse of the removal procedure.

After replacing the air conditioner belt (6), it is necessary to adjust the belt tension.

For bolts for which the torque is not specified, check page1 of the "About This Shop Manual Section • Tightening Torque • Retightening Torque

Table" in the explanation in the materials. [1]Use a box wrench (14 mm) to tighten the tension bolt (4). [2]Adjust the belt so that when the center section of the belt is pressed with a finger, it deflects about 1 cm.(*1) (See the diagram on the right.) [3]Securely fasten the nut (3).

Fan Belt Replacement

Caution ・ Be sure to stop the engine before beginning work.

Items to prepare •Wrenches (14 mm, 17 mm) •Box wrench (17 mm) •Closed wrench (17 mm) •Rags •Cleaning fluid 1.Fan Belt Removal [1]Remove the air conditioner belt. (For details, see "Air Conditioner Belt Replacement".) [2]Use a wrench (14 mm) to remove the 3 bolts (1).

[3]Use a wrench (14 mm) to remove the bolts (3), and then remove the bracket (2).

[4]Remove the fan guard (4).

[5]Use a box wrench (17 mm) to loosen the lower installation bolt (7) of the alternator (5). •Loosen the lower installation bolt (7) with a closed wrench or wrench (17 mm) while holding the nut (6).

[6]Use a box wrench (17 mm) to loosen the nut (9), then free the alternator (5) adjuster plate (8).
