C. STOP ENGINE Never attempt any MAINTENANCE with engine running. Always stop the engine and allow machine to cool. Otherwise, there is a possibility of danger that your hand may be caught in the cooling fan or fan belt resulting injury. If it is inevitable to operate the engine for the inspection or maintenance, carry out the work with a pair of two persons. And either person makes the engine ready to stop at any time at the signal of the partner.

DO NOT OPERATE

D. “TAG-OUT” MACHINE Before beginning any inspection or maintenance procedures, secure a “ DO NOT OPERATE” tag to the operator’s console to inform the operator that the machine will be inoperable for inspection and maintenance. This tag will help prevent accidental starting of the machine.

E. OBSERVE PRECAUTIONS Start the inspection and maintenance work fully understanding the contents of safety precautions indicated on the machine decals.
