Tilt Cylinder Removal

STEP 1

Caution

Support the attachment connection plate so that it doesn’t fall when the tilt cylinder is removed.

STEP 2

STEP 1

Remove and plug two hydraulic hoses (1) from the tilt cylinder (2). Remove bolts and nuts (3). Install a lifting strap (4) on the tilt cylinder. Use an appropriate lifting device to support the cylinder. Remove pin (5).

Place an absorbant mat under the cylinder to catch any dripping oil. Remove cylinder.

Install a lifting strap (1) on the tilt cylinder (2). Use an appropriate lifting device to lift the cylinder into place.

STEP 2

Install the pins (3). Install bolts and nuts (4) tighten to 33 lb.-ft. (45 N•m). Install two hydraulic hoses (5) on the tilt cylinder (2). Remove lifting strap.

NOTE: Cylinder plugs will need to be removed to move rod for alignment with pin.

STEP 3

Start the machine and bleed the air out of the cylinder by cycling the cylinder through full extension and retraction three times.

STEP 4

Check the hydraulic fluid level and fill as needed. See “Hydraulic System Maintenance” on page29.

Tilt the platform. See “Tilting the Platform” on page61.

Steering Cylinder Installation

STEP 1

Position steering cylinder in machine.

STEP 2

Place a drain pan under the steering cylinder (1) and remove and plug hydraulic hoses (2).

IMPORTANT: Dispose of hydraulic oil according to environmental laws or take to a recycling center for proper disposal. DO NOT pour waste oil onto the ground or down a drain.

STEP 3

Install pins (1).Install snap rings (2).

STEP 3

Remove snap rings (3). Remove pins (4). Remove cylinder.

Install hydraulic hoses (3) on cylinder (4).
