Work Hydraulics Troubleshooting
NOTE: The following table contains general hydraulics troubleshooting information. For more in-depth diagnostics information, refer to the hydraulics troubleshooting flow charts, starting on page107.
Work hydraulics do not work or work only at a low performance level.
Low hydraulic fluid level.Add hydraulic fluid. See “Checking Hydraulic Oil Level” on page29.
Hydraulic fluid is not warm.Allow longer warm-up Hydraulic cylinder damaged.Repair/replace cylinder. See “Hydraulic Cylinder Disassembly/Assembly” on page141.
Control valves damaged.Repair/replace control valve. See “2-Spool Control Valve Removal” on page126 or “3Spool Control Valve Removal” on page128. Also refer to the parts manual for control valve parts information.
Engine speed is too low.Adjust engine speed.
Dirty/restricted air filter(s).Replace air filter(s). See “Air Cleaner” on page22.
Incorrect fuel grade.Change the fuel; see “Fluid Capacities / Lubricants” on page11 for proper fuel grade.
Attachment tilts down with tilt control in neutral.
Oil leaking past tilt cylinder seals.See “Work Cylinder Leakage Test” on page124. Repair/ replace cylinder if required. Also see “Hydraulic Cylinder Disassembly/Assembly” on page141.
Leaking hydraulic hoses, tubes or fittings between control valve and cylinders.
Repair/replace as required.
