1 Check the bush for damage, wear and contact. If damaged, worn or poor contact renew the bush. 2 Using a cylinder gauge and a micrometer, measure the bush (A) and the crankshaft journal (B) to calculate the clearance. 3 Measure the inside diameters at positions (A1) and (A2) at each position measure in both directions (A3) and (A4) as shown. The oil clearance is the difference between the larger value and the maximum crankshaft journal diameter. Engine
