To measure the piston ring gap
Operation 4-6
If the piston ring is worn or damaged, renew.
Piston ring gap
Clean the carbon from the top of the cylinder bore. Insert the ring into the cylinder at right angles to the cylinder block and measure the gap with a feeler gauge. If the gap is greater than the service limit, renew the piston ring.
