CROSS CONVEYOR EXTENSION (Figs. 15-1 & 15-2)

The Cross Conveyor Extension (830215) is designed for attachment onto the discharge end of the Unloading Unit to unload the forage directly into a blower, bunk feeder or trough. The Extension can be conveniently folded-back for Box filling and transport. Mounting procedures are provided in separate instructions included with the package of parts.

Feeder Apron Chains

The BU960 14-ft (only) Forage Box is available with either Steel Detachable (two 045117) or Pintle (two 045547) Aprons, Replacement Apron assemblies and the components of the assemblies are available by replacement part numbers listed under the Feeder Aprons, Chains & Slats topic in the Service chapter.

A 16-ft Box is only available with Pintle Aprons which are developed by adding one Apron Chain Extension (045983) assembly to each 14-ft Pintle Apron (045547). Similarly, an 18-ft Box is only available with Pintle Aprons which are developed by adding two Apron Chain Extensions (045983's) to each 14-ft Pintle Apron (045547). All replacement Apron components ofthe 16ft and the 18-ft Aprons are the same as for the 14-ft Box with Pintle Aprons.

Metal Roof

The Metal Roof is available either factory installed or for field installation on a Forage Box which was originally ordered without a Roof. Three different kits are available to match the three Box lengths. For a 14-ft Box, order 802362, for a 16-ft Box, order 802366 or, for an 18-ft Box, order 802368.

Field installation of any size Box Roof involves following the procedure which is outlined in step lla in the Set-up & Assembly chapter. Before proceeding with the Roof installation, remove all Side Tie Angles and Angle Attachment Brackets, by reversing the installation procedure outlined in step 11 bin the Set-up & Assembly chapter. With the Side Tie parts removed, the field installation can be handled exactly like a new unit setup.

Riser Block Kit

The Riser Block Kit (802277) is required whenever a BU960 Forage Box is installed onto Gl212 Running Gear. The Kit contains attaching hardware and (4) Riser Blocks which MUST be installed between the Bolsters and the Bolster Stakes to effectively raise the Platform and prevent the large tires of the Running Gear from striking the Platform members.

SHEAR BOLTS & COUPLER BOLTS

The Shear Flange of the Input Drive to the Worm Gear Transmission uses a 1I 4 x 1 Grade 2 Shear Bolt. Additional Shear Bolts are available in a packaged quantity of 8 per package. Order GEHL part #900061. The two different sized Transmission Drive Coupler Bolts are also available in packaged quantities of 8 per package. Order by GEHL part #900430 (for H263C- 5/16 x 2) and GEHL part #903012 (for H263E- 5/16 x 2-1/4).

Third Beater

The Third Beater provision is available factory installed or for field installation on a Forage Box with 6-ft Sides and Box End.

NOTE: A 3rd Beater can NOT be adapted to a BU960 Forage Box with 4-ft high Sides and Box End.

The Kit components differ for adaptation onto Boxes with Wood Stakes (order Kit 802350) or Boxes with Steel Stakes (order Kit 802353). Remove and discard the original 2nd Beater Drive Guard. The new 3rd Beater Guard will cover the exposed Shaft end. Follow the procedures outlined in step 9 of the Set-up & Assembly chapter to mount the 3rd Beater and make the Drive connections.

TRUCK OPERATION KIT (Figs. 15-3, 15-4 & 15-5)

The Truck Operation Kit (830451) is designed for mounting a Forage Box onto a truck frame and powering the Unloading Unit with the truck transmission. A truck, which has a long wheel base, is recommended. In addition, the truck transmission MUST have an available PTO drive with a 7 I 8" PTO output shaft to adapt to the components furnished with the Truck Operation Kit. Any additional parts necessary to attach the Forage Box to the truck chassis MUST be furnished by the customer.

A typical mounting of the components supplied is as illustrated. Mounting methods and means will vary for each particular application and thus, make it necessary to custom fit the adapting parts of the Kit. The following is a listing of parts provided with the Truck Operation Kit.
