TRACTOR CONNECTIONS {Fig. 10-1 & 10-2)

ACAUTION: BU960 Forage Boxes are designed and intended to be operated only by a 540 RPM tractor.

NOTE: New units, when delivered from the factory, do NOT have the Apron Chain Locking Washers bent. Refer to the Adjustments chapter for correct Chain tension adjustment.

The following tractor hook-up provisions should be made:

I. The tractor hitch point of the should be set 14" (356 mm) behind the end of the PTO shaft.

2. The tractor hitch point of the drawbar should be set at least 6" (152 mm), but NOT more than 12" (305 mm), below the tractor PTO shaft.

3. The tractor hitch point of the drawbar should be at least 13" (330 mm), but NOT more than 17" (432 mm), above the ground.

4. The tractor hitch point of the draw bar should be in a straight line with respect to the PTO shaft. Tractor I PTO Shaft

After the proper tractor drawbar-PTO shaft alignments are established, make the Telescoping Universal Drive Shaft connection. Check to see that there is an exposed Shaft distance of approximately 2 to 6" (51 to !52 mm).

ACAUTION: BE SURE the Telescoping Drive Shaft Locking Coupler is positively engaged into the tractor PTO shaft groove BEFORE starting the tractor engine.

Loading

It should be correctly understood that in the process of filling the Forage Box, the load should be filled evenly so as to provide for even feeding into the Unloading Unit.

NOTE: Do NOT exceed rated capacities, listed in chapter 2, of your Forage Box. Exceeding the Box capacities places unnecessary stress on the Unloading Unit and other related Box components.

ACAUTION: Under certain conditions, {very hilly ground, ditches, etc.) when starting to fill an 18-ft Box that is mounted on a G1056 Running Gear, the front end may become light. If this happens, blow some of the forage into the front part of the Box before filling the back end.
