Check DRIVE AXLE FLUID LEVEL with truck on flat level surface. Remove fluid level plug at lower front of axle center housing. Check condition of fluid. Change or add recommended fluid as specified in GROUP 01, Section 1 Lubrication Charts in this manual.

Check DRIVE AXLE VENT. Vent must be open at all times. NOTE: Vent is located on top front center of drive motor adapter (differential pinion bearing carrier) on drive axle assembly. Refer to Figure 24925. Remove blocking if used, from upright and carriage. Lower lift carriage to the floor. Fig. 22201
