– "Hexashift" (A) set (ratios under torque 1 to 6).

– "Speed Matching".

– "Revershift" (B) set (forward/reverse).

– Programmable manoeuver gear.

"Revershift" The Revershift function is composed of: – Two transmission modules "TR1", "TR2" managing the Revershift function.

– The Revershift "S171" command lever allowing to indicate the driving direction required.

– The Cebis module MFT setting progressivity and viewing of the driving direction.

– The clutch pedal (1) and position sensor "Z152" managing manually the progressivity of the Revershift function.

– The dashboard module "DBD" managing the forward speed information.

– The mechanical assembly of the Revershift (A) function.

Calibrating the clutches

Purpose: Owing to mechanical, hydraulic and electrical differences, load pressure varies from one tractor to another. This pressure requires to be measured and adjusted to ensure smooth engagement. To calibrate, the transmission oil temperature must be between 30°C and 60°C (the transmission oil temperature is indicated in the “Cebis” terminal: see user manual).

– Position the tractor on a flat horizontal surface.

– Start the tractor.

– Check that the hydraulic activation switch (1) is set to “off”.

– If the tractor is fitted with a suspended front axle, check that the “Pro’Activ (2)” front suspension switch is set to “off”.

– Set the engine speed to 1 500 rev/min (between 1 400 and 1 600 rpm).

– Lift the torque reverser pad (4) and press the front axle engaging button (3) until a green warning window “Id75F9h” is displayed, for “ISC” calibration on the “Cebis” terminal associated with a beep.

Manual calibration – Refit the reverser pad (4) in the front position (to supply the forward and reverse solenoid valves). The tractor will remain at a standstill and calibration will be performed if the temperature exceeds 15 °C.

Functional logic To adapt the tractor's behavior, the Revershift set is submitted to the following piloting: – automatic piloting (lever).

– manual piloting (pedal).

Regulation of solenoid valve current: The filler rate of the hashed current is adjusted constantly to ensure the actual current equals the piloting instruction (temperature change of the solenoids).

Manual adjustment of progressivity: Progressivity can be adjusted manually (via the "Cebis" or .). The function is memorized by the "TR2" transmission module.

– Hexashift gear shift.

– robotized range shift.

A driving direction or a shift to neutral is selected by the user. According to the piloting performed, the "TR1" module adapts pressure in the clutches concerned. To check proper operation of the clutch, the transmission module compares speed at the reverser output with the engine speed. This comparison checks reverser slipping as well as the ratio of the Hexashift module.

The solenoid valves are optional rate solenoid valves, supplied with "PWM" hashed current.

Calibration: Clutch calibration is required to obtain identical behaviour in all tractors.

This automatic calibration allows learning 2 parameters: – Filling time.

– Lick pressure.

Temperature compensation: To compensate hydromechanical drift related with variations in transmission temperatures, the filling times and licking pressure are adjusted constantly over a range of – 30 to 110 °C.

The low pressure hydraulic circuit is regulated at 21 bar by the low pressure circuit pressure regulator. It is protected against overpressures by the "7029" 24 bar pressure limiter.

The accumulator "5015" protects the circuit against hammering.

To actuate a clutch, one piston chamber must be supplied.

To return the piston to neutral, stop the solenoid valve supply, hence ensure the piston chamber communicates with the tank.

The 2 proportional solenoid valves have 3 holes and 2 positions, allowing to set the jack chambers either to the tank, or under pressure.

The "Hexashift" gear is monitored by the "TR2" module. It compares the reverter output speed with that of the engine. It uses it to deduct an Hexashift gear from it. If the latter does not match the gear requested, the Hexashift module engages gear 4 until the fault is repaired.

The solenoid valves are On/Off solenoid valves, controlled in On/Off. The solenoid valves are supplied with "PWM" hashed current.

After starting the engine (stop exceeding 20s), the "Hexashift" module is in gear 4 as long as the transmission neutral has not been released.

After starting the engine (stop below 20s), the "Hexashift" module is in the current gear when the engine was stopped.

When the user presses continuously 'gear +' or 'gear –', the + function is activated.

Hydraulic piloting part Functional logic The low pressure hydraulic circuit is regulated at 21 bar by the low pressure circuit pressure regulator. It is protected against overpressures by the "7029" 24 bar pressure limiter.

The accumulator "5015" protects the circuit against hammering.

The three On/Off solenoid valves have three holes and two positions. The solenoid valves allow to set the piston chamber either under pressure or linked with the tank.

Electronic protection When shifting from the (C) range to the (D) range, the most appropriate ratio under torque is selected (see Speed Matching).

Any gear change resulting in a speed exceeding 2 820 rev/min is forbidden.

The range engaged is monitored by the "TR2" module.

When the slow range is active, the (C) and (D) ranges are not accessible.

– Initially, it compares the solenoid valves supplied according to the active sensor.

When the oil temperature is below – 5 °C, only the A4, B4, C4 gears are accessible.

– Then, it compares the theoretical speed according to the transmission engine speed. This comparison gives a precise range which must correspond to that engaged.

When the oil temperature exceeds 105°C, the diagnostic lamp lights on the dashboard.

When monitoring shows an anomaly, the "TR2" module prevents any range shifting and any re-clutching of the reverter. Only its neutral setting remains functional.

Hydraulic piloting part The low pressure hydraulic circuit is regulated at 21 bar by the low pressure circuit pressure regulator. It is protected against overpressures by the "7029" 24 bar pressure limiter.

The accumulator "5015" protects the circuit against hammering.

To engage a gear, a jack chamber must be supplied.

To return the slider to neutral, both jack chambers must be supplied simultaneously, in order to balance pressure on each side of the piston, hence returning it to neutral. Then these pressures can be cut simultaneously in order to preserve neutral.

The 4 On/Off solenoid valves have 3 holes and 2 positions to set the jack chambers either to the tank or under pressure.

Functional logic The transmission computer makes sequenced gear changes (every 1,4 seconds) until the manouvre gear is reached when changing down and every 1,4 seconds when changing up: – The manoeuvre gear mode is cancelled when the engine is stopped.

– The manoeuvre gear is recorded before the engine is stopped.

– The maneouvering gear causes the disengaging of the "Hexactiv" automation and exiting the gear causes reengaging.

Work mode In the working mode, the manoeuvre gear operates only in the currently selected range.

Selecting Range + or Range – causes the immediate cancellation of the manoeuvre gear mode.

Road mode In transport mode, it runs in all ranges.

Functional logic "Speed matching" is used when the tractor is in idle wheel and transmission is about to clutch.

– During this time, the "TR1" module clutches the ISC.

Before clutching, the transmission module "TR2" engages the "Hexashift" gear, which equalizes at best the "Revershift" output shaft and "Revershift" input shaft speeds.

– the user fully depresses the clutch pedal then releases it (without touching the reverter palette, otherwise tyhe system considers it is a reversion, and stays in the same "Hexashift" gear).

The "Revershift" input speed corresponds to engine speed multiplied by the ratio of the "Hexashift" module.

– the user raises the palette (while moving in one direction) to declutch, then lays it again (in the same driving direction, otherwise it is considered as being a reversion).

The "Revershift" output speed corresponds to speed according to the robotized range ratio + differential + final reductions.

In (D) range:

The user requests a range change:

Electronic protection

– When passing the synchronizers, the idle gear moves differently according to the load and random passing of synchronizers.

– To avoid the tractor from running away, the "Hexashift" gearbox gear is never larger than what it was before initiating idle wheel.

– After the 'new range engaged' info, the "TR2" module calculates speedmatching and engages the "Hexashift" gear.

– Unless overspeeding safety plans an excessive engine peak, in which case the range does not change the gear, the "Hexashift" gear adapts to have less than 2 820 rev/ min, while being as close to the initial gear as possible.

Electronic components Functional logic The start gear function allows to memorize a tractor start gear according to its operating mode.

Finally, two gears can be memorized: – A start gear active in 'Hexactiv/road' mode. This start gear is used to take control of the transmission. After "Revershift" or 'pedal' return to neutral this allows to reengage a specific gear. Activate it by pressing the ON button in the "Cebis" submenus.

– When the previous mode is not active, a second start gear is programmable.

Electronic protection After an engine stop > 20 s, the Hexactive/road starting gear is no longer active, it is in the "OFF" mode.
