Engine Front Cover Removal 1. Remove the crankshaft balancer. 2. Remove the water pump. 3..Remove the engine front cover.NO TE Do not reuse the front engine cover.Always install a new front engine cover.

Engine Front Cover Oil Seal Removal

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 2. Remove the crankshaft balancer. 3. Remove the crankshaft front seal. Timing Chain and Sprockets Removal Tools Required • MCF-1086 (J 23523-F) Crankshaft Balancer Remover and Installer • MCF-1066 (J 5825-A) Crankshaft Sprocket Puller NO TE Check the camshaft timing chain free play.Replace the camshaft timing chain if it can be moved back and forth in excess of 16 mm (0.625 in.). 1. Remove the engine front cover. 2. Remove the camshaft sprocket bolts. 3. Remove the camshaft sprocket. 4. Remove the timing chain.

5. Remove the crankshaft sprocket. 6. If necessary, remove the crankshaft sprocket key.

MCF-1066 (J 5825 A) Crankshaft Balancer Installation

Tools Required

• MCF-1086 (J 23523-F) Crankshaft Balancer Remover and Installer 1. Install the crankshaft balancer. 2. Install the accessory drive pulley. 3. Install the accessory drive belt. 4. Install Hydraulic Pump drive shaft.

Timing Chain and Sprockets Installation

Tools Required

• MCF-1065 (J 5590) Crankshaft Sprocket Installer 1. Install the key into the crankshaft keyway. 2. Use the MCF-1065 (J 5590) to install the crankshaft sprocket. 3. Install the camshaft sprocket and timing chain.The

Crankshaft Balancer Removal

Tools Required

• MCF-1086 (J 23523-F) Crankshaft Balancer Remover and Installer 1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 2. Remove the accessory drive belt. 3. Remove Hydraulic Pump drive shaft. 4. Remove the accessory drive pulley. 5. Remove the crankshaft balancer.

crankshaft gear. 5. Install timing chain and camshaft sprocket. 6. Install camshaft sprocket bolts.Be sure to align the camshaft and the crankshaft sprocket alignment marks.

• MCF-1085 (J 35468) Crankshaft Seal Installer and Centering Tool 1. Install the crankshaft front seal. 2. Install the crankshaft balancer.

1. Install the front cover. 2. Install the water pump. 3. Install the crankshaft balancer.

Tightening torque for camshaft sprocket 2.49 Kgf•m (18 lbf•ft) [25 N•m] bolts
