IDLER ROLLERS (CUSTOMER SUPPLIED)
purpose
The idler rollers provide a means of supporting the return belt that runs through the BTP and also to guide the return belt away from frame structure. They can even act as a snub roller to deflect the belt down toward the tail pulley.
The customer should contact the original tail-pulley designer and manufacturer for details on the material and design of this item. DBT America will not have nor maintain any information for this item.
Follow the recommended procedure given by the pulley manufacturer. If no information is available, then use the following as a guide only! Verify that the roller is turning freely and that all bolts on the bearings are tightly in place. Grease bearings by following the procedure found in the “Lubrication System” section. Replace or repair any damaged components as necessary.

WARNING Do not repair or remove roller or bearing while the btp is in operation.
TRAMMING THE CRAWLER – SINGLE TORQUE HUB (2WD) TYPE WITH BRAKE
The following procedure should be adhered to during tramming and positioning the BTP. The brake on the torque hub is spring applied hydraulically released and will release when any of the functions below are performed (see the “Torque Hub Brake” section for technical information).
1. Follow the standard BTP start-up procedure (see the “Start-up
Procedure” section). 2. Function the BTP in one of the following manners to achieve the desired outcome.
A. Tram Forward: Operate both left and right crawler control flippers or levers labeled “Crawler Outbye Walkside” and “Crawler Outbye Blockside”, under the section labeled “Tram”, in the “FWD” (forward) direction.
B. Tram Reverse: Operate both left and right crawler control flippers or levers labeled “Crawler Inbye Walkside” and “Crawler Inbye Blockside”, under the section labeled “Tram”, in the “REV” (reverse) direction.
C. Turn Left: Turning can be achieved in two different ways.
One of which Is by operating the crawler tracks in opposite direction which causes the BTP to make a quick and highly maneuverable spin about the center of the crawler tracks.
The second way is to move only one crawler track and allow the other to drag on the ground. This will provide a turn at a slightly higher radius with an increase of stress and wear on the cat pads. To spin the BTP, operate the left crawler control flipper or lever labeled “Left Crawler”, under the section labeled “Tram”, in the “REV” (reverse) direction while simultaneously operating the right crawler control flipper or lever labeled “Right Crawler”, under the section labeled “Tram”, in the “FWD” (forward) direction.
To use the second option of dragging the opposing track, just operate one of the crawler control flippers or levers mentioned above.
