PRESSURE & RETURN CONNECTION STATION

1 RETURN LINE CHECK VALVE 2 10-MICRON HIGH PRESSURE FILTER

purpose

The pressure and return connection station provides a common connection for both high-pressure and return lines. This allows the BTP to be powered from the mine’s hydraulic system. A ball valve (shut-off valve) is provided to completely isolate and shut-off the BTP from incoming pressure so that safe maintenance can be performed. The return line has a check valve on it that prevents back flow from entering the system.

The pressure and return connection station consists of welded structural steel mounting plates with a ball valve on the incoming pressure and a check valve on the return line.

Each shift visually ensure that the hydraulic components and hoses are not leaking or damaged. Replace or repair any missing or damaged components as required.

Use the ball valve to prevent the high-pressure hydraulic fluid from flowing to the BTP during maintenance, repair, or system down time. Open valve handle to regain power to the BTP so that operation may continue.

CAUTION

DANGER

WARNING Use caution while operating or maintaining the pressure and return connection station since the system is under extreme pressure. Before performing work on the pressure and return connection station components verify that the high-pressure shut off ball valve is in the off position.

Do not perform work on or attempt to disconnect any hydraulic components, valves, or hoses while the system is pressurized.

The shut-off ball valve is not a dump or dead-man valve since the fluid is not diverted from the BTP.
