UNDERSIDE SLIDING DOLLY WITH TRAPPING SHOE

purpose

The dolly supports the stageloader and allows it to slide in and slide out when the shields push the face conveyor. The dolly also allows the BTP to have free movement in the out-by direction to permit set up for the next series of passes.

The dolly is constructed from welded structural grade steel with high strength steel crossbeam that supports a 360 degree pivoting steel deck that bolts to the stageloader drive frame. The deck is allowed to articulate front to back and side to side while still being captivated by a high-tensile heat-treated steel pivot pin and retaining plates. The articulating deck has stops, which limit the amount of angular movement. Therefore, the weight of the stageloader is always securely supported by the dolly crossbeam and also the stops allow the stageloader to stop its angular movement before any part of it touches or damages the BTP. The dolly is held on the dolly track in the vertical direction by bolt on and removable high-strength steel trapping shoes.

Visually inspect the dolly for any damage to it or the articulating deck. Make sure that trapping shoes and retaining bolts are in place and in working condition. Periodically examine the dolly track for wear and grease the track area (follow the greasing instructions in the “Lubrication System” section). Replace or repair any damaged components as required.

Self-operating and self-articulating. Observe dolly track on BTP frame to ensure it is free of debris or coal fines. If an accumulation of debris or coal fines if observed, sweep or shovel clean before moving the BTP. Watch the position of the dolly with respect to the dolly stops. When the dolly reaches the forward most stop, move the BTP in the out-by direction until the dolly has reached the rear stop. The unique design of the BTP frame will also allow the stageloader to push the BTP out-by when the dolly has contacted the forward dolly stop. Do this with extreme caution and read the section on “Moving the BTP” first.
