Cleaning Clean tracks, track and support rollers, sprockets and idlers regularly and whenever required. Cleaning is especially important in winter to prevent §
the tracks from being thrown off
§
oil from leaking out of track and support rollers, sprockets and idlers
§
excessive wear
§
the track from breaking.
Check fastening screws (3, Fig. 3-77:) regularly for tightness: Ü Tighten screws with a torque wrench to the prescribed tightening torque (cf. table "Tightening torques").

Ü Tighten screws with a torque wrench to the prescribed tightening torque (cf. table "Tightening torques").
To clean the tracks: Ü raise one side of the excavator with the working equipment and allow track to turn; Ü clean the side member supporting the track; Ü clean track and support rollers (1 and 2 , Fig. 3-76:) thoroughly, especially at those places indicated by arrows; Ü clean the sliding planes on the idler guides.

The track rollers (1, Fig. 3-77:) and the support rollers (2, Fig. 3-78:) have a permanent oil filling. Inspect all track and support rollers visually for leaks and free movement at regular intervals.
