STEP 2

PDE0070 Lower the boom until the dipper is resting safety on a suitable stand. NOTE: Place the head of the dipper on a block of wood, so that the clamshell is laying in a horizontal position.

PDE0071 When on the job site, with no suitable stand available, it is possible to improvise by using a pile of earth, or sand, which will stand the weight of the dipper without collapsing.

PDE0072 Another solution consists of placing the clamshell under the dipper in open position, with a wooden block under the dipper head and another between the clamshell and the dipper. NOTE: Do not adopt this solution for narrow buckets.

STEP 3

For removal follow Steps 3 to 12 for the removal of a dipper without a tool.

STEP 4

For installation, follow Steps 1 to 7 for the installation of a dipper without a tool.
